Sometimes we get sad about things and we don’t like to tell other people that we are sad about them. We like to keep it a secret. Or sometimes, we are sad but we really don’t know why we are sad, so we say we aren’t sad but we really are.
Sometimes, the inchoate soul picks a fight with the water. The water knows better, but yet, feigns indulgence. She comes as the mist and she comes as the churn. Despite her mansuetude, the soul drowns. The soul drenches. The soul eventually loses.
But all this while, the soul grows. A little. Just a little.

Over the years I have worked hard to build up an urban backyard that can be shared with other animals. We have trees, bushes and flowers that attract lots of birds. The Chicakdees are such a delightful and cheery visitor. Here is one sitting in our Lilac tree which is budding nicely. Not only do I enjoy watching the birds but I enjoy the scents in my garden with Hyacinths in bloom now, Lilacs coming soon and then there will be the Lavender. The rabbit hangs around but stays to himself. My chipmunk is allowing me to pet him when I feed him treats. I am trying to be tolerant of the squirrels who have left my tulip bulbs alone this year! In these times of stay at home orders, there is no place like home in the spring!

I dont normally leave messages like this but...
The world has been tipped upside down with Covid and some of us are trapped in situations beyond our control. Stress and Depression are serious issues and our mental health is often brushed aside without proper consideration of the impact it has on us further down the line.
It can be really hard to ask for help when your feeling low, but help is out there, and that hlep wants you to talk to them, they really do.
Those not feeling low, lets do our best to love and look out for one another, and if you can pass on a smile to a stranger it can make all the difference to their day. Smiles can be seen through masks, their in our eyes too, and a smile is more contagious than Covid... So I will make sure my next picture will be a happy one.
Sometimes you get a duck on a log, other times things work out and you get something to remember.

Jasper sometimes spends an evening down at the Old Kennel Klub. We've warned him that the place seems a bit stuffy and pretentious, but he insists that its not. Yes, they have a dress code and yes, they only serve the finest water, but at the core the members are just a bunch of good dogs. I saw Jasper tip his waiter a big bone so I know he treats the staff well.

Sometimes your life's balance is upside down. Like the stick. You believe you will have the greatest challenges coming from below, and you try to feel prepared, enduring... Suddenly a small push from above and you fall… Setting the tweezers back in your life is always difficult and painful... but you have to do it... every time
Sometimes the treasure that you seek is right in front of you. Just remember when you find it, hold it, take care of it because Love is the most valued of treasures.
