my brother had heart surgery/valve replacement on wednesday. it went well.
he was sent home thursday where he collapsed in his bedroom. my niece found him on the floor, so he rode in an ambulance back to the hospital.
they put in a temporary pacemaker. that night his heart stopped twice and they had to rescuscitate.
today his immediate family is at the hospital [only 2 people/day are allowed to visit] waiting to see if he wakes up.
please pray to whatever higher power you have.

Sometimes life surprises you in the nicest way. After a lifetime of having hyperactive small dogs that barked at the slightest noise, I now have a large, gentle dog that basically wags his tail at everyone. The joy he has brought me and the rest of the humans in my family grows every day. Long live Cooper, the wonder dog!
Sometimes the "would have beens" and the "could have beens" can take over my life!
It is hard to be a dreamer and a realist at the same time!! :-)
(Maybe thats the curse of being a photographer)

I feel like a blind goose in a strange land, alone, without his flock. Than I recall I am blind because I do not want to see, The land I live in is strange because my flock has gone awry.
Sometimes you have to wonder about the reason for a fence: just what it is keeping in or out of ... what? I love all the fences in this area though and just keep on taking pictures of them.
Towards the top end of Newlands valley near Dale Head the sun hardly gets up high enough to light it up,, but sometimes, if you're lucky the odd shaft of light gets through the lower points of Dale Head.. This was taken from the lower Shelter on Hindscarth where I grabbed a bite to eat.
Sometimes seen in large noisy flocks. They lay three or four eggs and include seeds, grains, fruits and insects in their diet.
Sometimes the most interesting staircases aren't where you'd expect. This 10-story staircase is attached to an oil refinery near my home. I've taken out the refinery building that the staircase is attached to to emphasize the graphic nature of the staircase. Zeiss Photography Award 2017 B&W Gallery Collection 2016.
