Sometimes you get smacked in the face as you're working toward them . . .

Sometimes you just want to be alone. Alone to search inwards to your soul and wonder why things happen. And when the sea breeze starts in the afternoon and the sun is setting over the water if you have a setting sun over the water, what exists manifests itself a thousand times and you find you are with mother nature. How perfect can this be when your mind, spirit and surrounds unite to become one and you are in sync with the world. Image taken at FantasyFair in SL. Your thoughts on this ... I was preparing the composition in the dark for this spot in the Badlands with the Milky Way beyond when I accidentally hit the shutter button and started the 10 second countdown for release. I quickly leveled the view and then let the camera go so it would stop moving with about 2 seconds before releasing the shutter open starting the 30 second exposure.

THEN ... as this was going on a car came up Cedar Pass there and really lit up the formation during the shot.

The result of these two unexpected events turned out kind of cool I think. It was like having some nice full moon light there into the scene.

Peter and Oleg are still at Anholt Castle. The fog is now gone.

PETER:

San Pietro in Cerro è un comune italiano di 917 abitanti della provincia di Piacenza.

Il Castello di San Pietro sorge in territorio piacentino sul confine con le province di Parma e Cremona.

L'insediamento castellano, costruito sui resti di uno più antico, venne fondato nel 1460 da Bartolomeo Barattieri, giureconsulto e ambasciatore di Piacenza presso la corte di papa Giulio II della Rovere.

La struttura è interamente visitabile e racchiude oltre trenta sale riccamente arredate, due saloni d'onore, le cucine, le prigioni e l'installazione permanente di 40 copie perfette dei guerrieri di Xi'an, autorizzate e autenticate dal Governo Cinese. . I guerrieri erano originariamente posti a guardia della tomba del primo imperatore cinese Qin Shi Huang.

Dal 2017 è aperto nel maniero il Museo delle Armi con oltre cinquecento pezzi unici di antiquariato provenienti da tutto il mondo. Grande il valore della nuova collezione che arricchisce la roccaforte: sono esposte più di 80 pistole dal Seicento al primo Novecento, oltre 50 fucili, oltre 80 sciabole, spade e alabarde, oltre 40 pugnali tra cui alcuni con impugnatura in avorio o corno. Tra le curiosità spiccano: la pistola più piccola del mondo e le pistole per giocatori d'azzardo, una originalissima pistola quasi da 007 d'epoca, ricavata in un bastone da passeggio, i cosiddetti "bastoni animati", palle di cannone di vario diametro e l'antifurto da sparo.

Sometimes I just want to take a photo and be just me

It's autumn and its atmosphere floats on the surface of the water. This photo is from last fall and I reduced the saturation a lot. Sometimes brilliant oranges and shades of yellow are just too much for my eyes and mind. Today is sweater weather, I put on a thick sweater while walking in the cool weather in the forest. The yellow leaves that had fallen from the trees crunched under my shoes.

Sometimes the most interesting staircases aren't where you'd expect. This 10-story staircase is attached to an oil refinery near my home. We had clouds at sunset so I went up to the roof.
