my summer playlist
Waddesdon Manor, Buckinghamshire. Stone carving of a grotesque face on the gate posts of the stable block (late 19th century - though the architecture tries to emulate the style of a 17th century French chateau). It is a fascinating sculpture which invites a reaction. Fuji X-E2 plus Helios 44M-7 at approx. F5.6.
Sometimes the stars and planets align and you encounter a scene where every single element contributes to tell the story. The result in this case was a rather jarring visual projection of gritty bleakness and utter hopelessness. The most compelling photos give you a sense inclusion in the image rather than feeling like a mere bystander.
Sometimes we caught a glimpse of a house off in the distance. This one has no road to it so once again we hiked overland to get close to it.
Sometimes you just want to delete winter. It looks like fog but is actually snow blowing hard across the road, forcing me to stop several times, as I no longer could see the road.

Sometimes I like color. Maybe it's the cool blues with the warm steam and clouds. In case you're wondering, this is a combine cycle combustion turbine natural gas power station. It provides base-load electric power to the 100,000 citizens of the city of Burbank and powers Hollywood. Anyhow, I captured this on my evening walking commute.
