...of mother earth. With a few reddish seeds waiting to sprout. The spoon handle extends far right. Inspired by #MacroMondays; I think this might be the last experiment.

This is how I see ;) This looks far too shallow for my husband. Hence, no need to comment if you see and prefer f/16 or a smaller aperture ;)

Spring 2015 revisited

Photographed while exploring with Anynn, Collun, Daniel, NJ, and Yu-san. Main Street, Vancouver. October 2, 2016.

Day 141/365:

After a busy day we were planting our patio tubs and the light was failing when I realised I hadn't got my photo. I put a begonia on the table with a faded red washing up bowl behind it and after a few attempts decided on another multiple exposure. The colours were so vibrant that I toned it down with a bit of faffery and added a texture or two.

12/31: October 2022: A month in 31 pictures

A bit of a cheeky one today, I took a photo of my computer screen showing this entry for the October challenge 2020. If you read yesterday's post you will understand why..

This is our dearly departed Bruno and I felt he deserved another showing. He was the most amazing rescue dog. We adopted him when he was 12 years old and he was with us for three and a half years. I made him this autumn leaf crown and he was so good about wearing it for a photoshoot.

The original 2020 photo in comments.

This year it is just perfect to roam through the forest. There has been little wind or frost, so the leaves are slow to leave their place on the branches. Time for a small series :-)

Dieses Jahr ist es einfach ideal, um durch den Wald zu streifen. Es gab bisher wenig Wind oder Frost, so dass die Blätter nur langsam ihren Platz an den Zweigen verlassen. Zeit für eine kleine Serie :-)

Thanks for looking.

West Georgia Street, downtown Vancouver. August 29, 2021.

I'll be away for about two weeks, getting some fresh air in the mountains and relaxing and recovering from that blasted Corona virus ... so I won't be around most of the time.

Please take care of yourselves !

Some or you might remember:

My Flickr name had been "smiling frogs" for a few days back in December 2020 when my account suddenly vanished in front of my eyes ...

But I still love frogs; this is a cute birthday card : ))

I played around a bit in Topaz Studio here (mainly Hello Highlights, 10% opacity) and Analog Efex : ))

Happy first Fence Friday of this Summer, my friends. Have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you all so much for the kind words, comments, faves and visits - truly appreciated :^)

We all need to work together. Lets start with feeding some people.

Happy Macro Monday

Also # 76 in my 100 x challenge

I really wasn't going to do a dahlia shot today but I've been out with friends and didn't get a chance to get a photo until I got home and the light was starting to go. I quickly took my camera into the garden and photographed my cafe au lait.

This is the same shot blended in PS and the top image rotated 180° I did adjust the colour a little too...artistic licence ;)

Gentle rain and new quivering aspen leaves. Bliss, for me.

Thank you for looking

We also have several clonal aspen trees that began growing several years ago—quite fun to see.

With flowers of just 15 mm diameter, commonly known as native violet, Viola banksii is endemic to the east coast here in Australia, from south Queensland down to south New South Wales.

It is a spreading ground cover which prefers shady, moist areas and produces these charming, tiny white and purple flowers.

Flowers rise above the foliage to around 4 to 5 cm.

...and indoor stores?

I've read that malls with empty stores are turning to entertainment and eating.

Looking close on Friday - Orange

I bought this little van a while back but haven't got around to using it before now. My little grandson saw it and said it was a school bus with skateboards on, I thought that was so sweet.

Little did I know that flies enjoy nectar of flowers too, I thought they only had an appetite for decomposed things or the waste of humans and other animals. This Blow fly apparently has a sweet tooth for the flowers of the Heuchera plant. (Only minor post-processing done).

Caught him smelling the air and staring at random spots on the balcony. The sunny morning did the rest!

Taken with Pentax K20D digital camera and smc Pentax-DA L 50‍–‍200mm F4‍–‍5.6 telephoto lens, part of the lightweight kit lens duo (hence the L). Not bad for a mere kit lens!

Ok, more dirty b...., but ok Autumn seems to be their season :) From left to right:

#82 in my 100 x challenge - 100 Lensbaby images

This beautiful huge dahlia was in the walled garden at Felbrigg National trust, North Norfolk. I do love a walled garden and I love a dahlia too.

Lensbaby Velvet 56 and gold swiss cheese Omni

for Smile on Saturday. Two necklaces made by my sister.

A tad high-key while checking the off-camera lights ;-)

But I like it! Hmm, depends on which monitor. That looks really high key on my Mac monitor, but I just calibrated the large PC monitor.

#3 - 100 x challenge - Lensbaby

I bought this tiny vintage (1940s) dainty tin from Etsy. Since I can't get out for a rummage for photo props...and let's face it we all need new props from time to time...I've had to resort to looking online. I may have accidentally ordered a new lens today as well. Ooops!

This was taken using my Lensbaby Velvet 56 and Omni filter. The hearts are from my craft stash.
