Thank you all so much for your comments & faves.
My mum always did a million little things for my sister and I and everyone else, and a million big things too. We couldn't have asked for a better, kinder mother. She's not well now and things are getting more difficult by the day, but we will always have her sweetness and all those little (and big) things in our hearts.

Trying to embrace my anxiety about the climate emergency and our politics, and continue to write and to vote.
A slightly different take on our theme. This is a page from an astronomical star chart showing the location of the North Star (Polaris or Alpha Ursae Minoris) in relation to the North Celestial Pole. The two don't perfectly line up but Polaris is the closest to it so it gets the honor of being our North Star. Also notice that the chart shows that Polaris is a multiple star system. Technically it is three stars. Two of its stars can be seen in amateur telescopes.

Yes, not what I normally do :)
My beautiful wife shows that you can still compete with the young chickens at the age of 42.
Love you my dear.

Momentan erkunde ich meinen neuen Lebensraum im Umfeld der neuen Wohnung.
Und dieser kleiner Weg verbindet die eine Straße mit der anderen und verläuft zwischen den Hintergärten und einem Friedhof.
Experimenting with shallow depth-of-field, I was impressed by 1.5ft focusing distance of this 50mm 1.4d lens (compared to 2.6 of 85mm 1.8 and 0.85 of 35mm 1.8) but not much with its sharpness at large apertures.
Ordinary things, like common burdock seeds, are made extraordinary in the right light. Late on a winter's day, sometimes the sun makes everything golden.
The depth of field on an 85mm f/1.2 lens is as tight as a…… well, let’s just say it’s tight. 😅
Today on my walk around my property, I brought my 85mm f/1.2 to see how it handled detail shots out in the field. I usually reach for my macro, but I wanted to test how this lens would render small subjects and shallow focus in natural light. I love how it captured the fine texture and glow of this little yellow leaf resting on a fern.
