son working on his brother's truck again...and what part of "I don't do electric or carbs" did he not understand?? I ended up doing the wiring for the turn signal and really hope I did it correctly. First time for everything. Good news, the truck now has both brake lights.
Funny part...the blinkers still were not working. Stayed on but didn't blink. Hmmm...wonder if it could be a fuse or something (yes that was mentioned a couple of days ago. The wiring did need to be replaced but I told him it seemed like a 'fuse' problem or a relay). Hey guess what, found the manual and surprise! No flash relay at all LOL!! So now the truck has blinkers, brake lights, the turn signal switch stays in place (well sort of...), and all we gotta worry about is whether or not the wiring part stays put. o.O
Reminded me of how much I miss working on cars. At least he got it honestly :)

The Peace Tower replaced the Victoria Tower which was lost in the great fire of 1916. There are bells that sound every quarter hour, and it houses a carillon. This is a set of bells that are sounded from a keyboard found in a small room halfway up the tower. The 53 bells in the Peace Tower carillon are all of different sizes The largest is called the "bourdon" and weighs a light 22400 pounds (about the weight of three adult African elephants. The smallest bell weighs only 10 pounds.
Now replaced by the modern (and ugly imo) La Grande Bibliotheque Francois Mitterand, you can breath and feel history when walking into this old study room of the old library in Paris. A block of concrete from outside, I was surprised to see the surroundings inside and took this shot with wide angle. Although deserted due to renovation, you could easily imagine the thousands of students who must have studied here back to back.

Your boss is finally convinced by you to replace the office chair with an ergonomic chair. After working in the new chair for a day, you feel much better than before and can focus on work for longer time. After working for a while, your back pain also starts to improve. Your colleagues can also notice that you are more engaged and productive than in the past few months.
The ergonomic chair for computer users is designed to help you sit comfortably for long periods of time at work. They are more adjustable than standard office chairs and allow you to adjust to your body or seating preferences.
These chairs increase your productivity and increase your job satisfaction, and they also reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries. Here are five specific reasons why an ergonomic chair can relieve your waist and back pain.
1.Support proper posture when sitting on ergonomic chairs
The most important reason that ergonomic chair for computer users can improve waist and back pain is that they are designed to support your natural posture and reduce stress on your body. The seat back usually extends from the shoulder to the seat position. The lower back forms a slightly curved forward structure to match the natural curve of the lumbar spine. This is often called lumbar support because it helps protect the lumbar spine.
The adjustable armrest of the ergonomic chair supports your elbows and forearms as your arms naturally hang next to your body. This allows you to use your keyboard and mouse without causing fatigue in your shoulder and arm muscles. Adjusting the seat height allows you to lay your feet flat on the floor with your hips and knees bent to about 90 degrees.
Some ergonomic chairs have backs that can be moved forward or backward to reduce the depth of the seat and prevent the front edge from cutting into the back of the knee.
2. Proper hip and pelvis alignment when sitting on ergonomic chairs
A common cause of back pain caused by incorrect sitting is improper alignment of the hips and pelvis. The top of the pelvis should be level to prevent tilting forward or backward. When the computer chair you sit in a correct posture, the pelvis bone structure known as a bone to be flush with each other, are located in the front and rear portions of the pelvic bone. When these bony structures are horizontal, your waist should be slightly arched with the raised parts facing forward.
If you sway from side to side, you should feel the pressure on the bone structure called the ischial tuberosity. These are also called ischias because they should be the weight-bearing part of the pelvis when sitting. If you've ever sat on a hard bench, you will most likely feel your ischial tuberosity press into a hard surface.
3. Prevent shaking and lean forward head posture when sitting on ergonomic chairs
When you sit down, the lumbar spine bends and your shoulders roll forward to create a slack posture. In this position, your scapula is away from the thoracic spine and your head is moved forward or extended. When you look up at your computer monitor, your neck moves to an extended position. If you continue working in this position, this can cause muscle strain, pain, and headaches.
Internal and external factors can cause slackness. Internal factors include limited hip flexion range, tight hamstrings, obesity, and weak torso (core) muscles that fail to keep the spine upright against gravity. External factors are factors outside the body, such as limitations of chair design. These include seat lengths that are too long or too short, seat backs that are too vertical, and armrests that are too low.
Ergonomic chair for computer users may not change your internal constraints, but they are specifically designed to correct external factors. Adjustable seat depth and contours of the seat back support the waist, prevent lazy body states, and promote you to sit in place. Some chairs also allow you to adjust the angle or tilt of the seat back. Use a properly adjusted ergonomic chair to prevent looseness and forward head posture.
4. Reduce repeated bending of the body on ergonomic chairs for computer users
A side effect of sitting poorly on a standard chair is that it requires repetitive bending of the body to ease it. This is likely to happen several times a day and can cause pain in your waist. Sitting on an ergonomic chair with good back support will allow you to sit more straight. This will prevent you from having to move more and effectively prevent your waist from adding extra pressure.
5. Improve comfort when sitting on ergonomic chairs
Many ergonomic chairs for computer users are made of higher quality materials. Seat and back cushions to improve fitness. Some ergonomic chairs have extra lumbar support built into the design. If the legs are shorter, lower the chair and slide the seat back forward to reduce the seat depth. You can also raise the armrest to support your elbows. The key to comfort is being able to adjust almost every part of the chair to fit a variety of body types and sizes.
Ergonomic chair for computer users can improve your pain in the back by improving your sitting posture. Ergonomic seats have a wide range of adjustability, allowing computer users to achieve a more customized fit posture than standard chairs. They can help with a variety of musculoskeletal disorders, including neck, middle back and lower back pain. While ergonomic chairs are often more expensive than standard office chairs, they can have a huge impact on computer users' productivity and job satisfaction. First flown with the Airbus test registration D-AVYX, this aircraft was delivered to Eurowings as D-AKNG in Feb-97. It was sold to a lessor on delivery abd leased back to Eurowings.
It was transferred to Germanwings in Oct-02. The aircraft was transferred to Lufthansa in Nov-08 and repainted in full Lufthansa livery with Lufthansa Italia titles. It was due to be operated by Air Dolomiti re-registered I-LHKB.
However, the operation by Air Dolomiti was cancelled and it was operated by Lufthansa, still as D-AKNG, starting in Jan-09. Lufthansa Italia wasn't a success and the aircraft was returned to Lufthansa in Nov-11 when it was stored at Sofia, Bulgaria. It returned to service in May-12.
In May-13 the aircraft was transferred to Germanwings in full Germanwings livery. It had gone 'the full circle' when it was transferred back to Eurowings in Oct-17. The aircraft was permanently retired at Sofia, Bulgaria in Dec-19.

Volkonskoite-replaced fossil wood from the Permian of Russia. (4.2 cm across at its widest)
This is a very rare specimen of fossil wood from Permian rocks in western Russia. Most fossil wood is preserved by quartz-permineralization or carbonization. This fossil wood has been replaced by a rare chromian smectite clay mineral called volkonskoite (Ca0.3(Cr,Mg,Fe)2(Si,Al)4O10 (OH)2⋅4H2O - hydrous calcium chromium magnesium iron hydroxy-aluminosilicate). The chromium (Cr) content gives the fossil its green coloration. The striations appear to be remnants of the original wood structure. The broken sides show that the massive, fine-grained volkonskoite breaks with a conchoidal fracture.

A victory over 3rd bottom Southport Hesketh would've seen Longridge go 5 points clear at the top of the West Lancashire League Premier Division with 4 games to play. Sadly, Town produced their worst performance of the season, going down 3-0 to a hard working Southport side, who played a 90 minutes that belied their League position.
Manager Lee Ashcroft started with two up front, Jack Preston joining Brad Carsley, with Jordan Bowen playing just in behind. Town started OK on a bumpy surface, with Carsley heading wide a Mark Woods cross after just 12 minutes, but four minutes later a Southport corner to the edge of the penalty area was volleyed home to put Hesketh 1-0 up.
The travelling Town support was to be disappointed if they expected a response from the League leaders as, playing into a strong wind, Longridge were struggling to get going, being out worked all over the pitch by the Home side.
After 38 minutes a free kick was lofted into the Longridge area and, after failing to clear their lines, Town went two down as the ball was stabbed home from six yards.
2-0 as the teams went in at half time, and Town would now be playing with the wind at their backs.
Former Southport player Mark Jeffers was introduced, in place of Jack Preston, at half time as Ashcroft look to get the ball wide and provide the ammunition for Carsley to add to his 26 goal tally.
Jeffers looked bright and Town started the half looking for the goal to get them back in the game, but the closest they came was a glancing header from Danny Morris that rolled wide from a corner.
Joe Melling was replaced by Jordan Tucker on the hour, as Ryan McKenna moved up front with Carsley, but it was all in vain as the Southport keeper remained untroubled, aside from showing good hands when saving a Carsley free kick on 76 minutes.
Just 2 minutes later it was all over, although it had felt that way for a while, as Southport outnumbered the Town defence and fired a 3rd goal into the corner of the net. 3-0.
The final 12 minutes were played out in the grim belief that Longridge had missed an opportunity, but Southport had played well and fully deserved their 3 points on the day.
After the match Manager Lee Ashcroft (pictured)was philosophical regarding his teams chances , " The important thing now is that we win our next 3 matches, as the outcome is still in our own hands then, before going to Blackpool on the final day. We were poor today admittedly, but we have to respond and I'm pleased that we have the chance to do that quickly with the Tempest game on Wednesday night."
Town now have 3 home games, starting on Wednesday night against Tempest United with a 7.30pm kick off, before then facing title rivals Blackpool Wren Rovers on the final day of the season on Saturday May 13th.
Today's result leaves Longridge two points clear at the top of the West Lancashire League Premier Division on 72 points, two clear of nearest challengers Wren Rovers.
For Station Saturday here's a study of a Rhode Island classic. This is the depot built in 1882 by the original Providence and Worcester Railroad replacing one dating from the 1847 opening of the railroad. This view looks across aptly named Railroad Street with the Polar Express consist sitting beside the station atop the granite retaining wall.
The depot is contributing structure to the Woonsocket Main Street Historic District which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. From the NRHP nomination form:
Providence & Worcester Railroad Station 1882, John W. Ellis, architect: The original 1847 railroad depot burned and was replaced in 1882 with what was considered the most impressive depot on the P&W line. The new station is a rectangular, one-and-one-half-story, red brick Queen Anne building housing the main waiting room with a similarly designed baggage handling and service extension at the north end. The jerkin-head gable roofline is oriented parallel to the railroad tracks, and the building faces onto Depot Square with one end abutting Main Street.
Prominent features include a protective overhang integrated into the roof slope and supported on large, curved brackets, which runs around three sides of the main building and extension. The central entrances on both sides are located below a large cross gable with elaborate decorative brickwork and terra cotta ornamentation, stained-glass and ocular windows, and terra cotta finials. A square clock tower with a tall, pyramidal hip roof topped with a distinctive locomotive weathervane rises from the roof ridge between the gables. The narrow Main Street elevation has now-altered storefronts on the first floor and brickwork, stained-glass windows, and a large central oriel window on the upper floor. The east end of the Depot Square elevation is sheathed in modern vertical wood siding and has no openings, reflecting the fact that this was originally a party wall shared with the Edwards Block, a Second Empire building that was demolished in the 196Os. The former building site is neatly landscaped with terraces and evergreen and deciduous plants.
The P&W really was Rhode Island's own railroad. Chartered in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts in 1844 it opened for business on 43 miles between its namesake cities in 1847. Built along portions of the Blackstone Canal that was opened in 1828, the P&W replaced the waterway as the main artery of transportation in the historically significant Blackstone River Valley - the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution.
The New Haven leased the P&W for 99 years in 1892 and that lease passed to the Penn Central in 1969. The PC intended to abandon the middle of the P&W and sever it as a through route when a group of dissident independent shareholders wrested control away from the giant carrier and began independent operations again. The P&W thrived on it's own for 43 years as a publicly traded company (I held a small equity position for many years) until being sold to Genessee & Wyoming in 2016 and today nearly 180 years after the first train ran it continues to thrive.

OK so the element works...hooray! But don't forget to DISCONNECT from the electricity supply before you complete the final steps.
I took the opportunity to clean the backplate. There was a lot of encrusted gunk on the back of the plate, partially blocking the fan vents..I wonder if this contributed to the element's demise? I replaced the oven bulb which had failed (15 watt SES 300 degree - I got a Philips T22 E14 about £2). Replace the back plate with the 4 screws - you did keep them in a safe place didn't you? I took the opportunity to clean the glass on the oven door too. Wow...now we can actually see the stuff being cooked for the first time in a couple of years!
I then checked out the oven by starting at 100 degrees and checking the thermostat went out after a couple of minutes. then 150 degrees...another couple of minutes..then 200 and 300. Seemed ok.

This aircraft was delivered to BOC Aviation Leasing and leased to the easyJet Airline Company as G-EZJY in Jun-03. It was returned to BOC Aviation Leasing in Mar-10.
It was due to be leased to Jet Lite (India) but the lease was cancelled and instead it was leased to Turkish Airlines as TC-JKT in Apr-10. The aircraft was operated for Turkish Airlines by their 'low-cost' subsidiary AnadoluJet in full AnadoluJet livery.
The lease and operation was taken over by SunExpress Airlines (jointly owned by Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa) and re-registered TC-SAG in May-12 while the sub-lease to AnadoluJet continued.
The aircraft was returned to the lessor in Oct-14 and permanently retired at Lourdes, France and it was broken up there in late 2015.
Note: An in service life of just 11.5 years is nothing for a Boeing 737NG. I wonder what was wrong with it?
So that the custom wood cannons can adhere properly, I work the entire interior with bass frames and decks...in tiers.
Results have be very effective in past builds with the use of special adhesives. Also, because of the aging of this kit the beakhead of the model snapped, but was addressed after the deck frames were installed.
Bad capacitors from a Bell 9241 HD PVR. So far so good... no lockups yet.
The 1200uF aren't available from Sayal but was able to get them from Newark. I also then decided to get the 820uF from them also to have it all shipped at the same time plus they're made by Rubycon (which are considered the best out there), except Newark doesn't stock these in North America, so they had to get them from the UK if I recall. Arrived in the US on 9/1 and it's been stuck at US customs ever since, so picked up the 820uF made by Nichicon (they're okay, Panasonics would have been better) at Sayal.
So if you order anything from Newark and there's no stock in North America, look elsewhere!! And don't get capacitors made by Teapo.
To replace its fleet of L-4 Grasshoppers used during World War II, the US Army selected a modified version of the civilian Cessna 170. The Army needed an all-metal aircraft with good visibility, and the Cessna 170 fit the bill. Cessna added bulged windows to the sides and additional ones to the rear and top of the wing. Designated L-19 Birddog, the first entered service in 1950.
Eventually over 3000 L-19s--redesignated O-1 in 1962--would serve with all branches of the armed forces, namely in the forward air control and artillery spotting role. It was especially valuable in Korea and Vietnam, though it was used far more in the latter, as it was reliable, quiet, and could operate from virtually anywhere. Some were even armed as "emergency gunships," though this was discouraged. FACs and observation pilots paid the price, as well--no single type of aircraft suffered more losses than O-1s, because their role required them to fly low and slow; it was also easy to shoot one down. (Captain Hiliard Wilbanks was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for covering a trapped US Army Special Forces team with his lightly armed O-1 in 1967. ) So popular was the O-1 that it was never quite replaced completely by the O-2 Skymaster and OV-10 Bronco in Vietnam; the last Birddog left US service in 1974.
Built as L-19E 52-4558 for the USAF, this aircraft was later redesignated as an O-1E in 1962. It is unknown if it saw service in Vietnam. 52-4558 was declared surplus in the early 1970s, and by 1982, was in the hands of a warbird collector in Texas. It was restored to its Vietnam appearance, and in 2013, moved to the Legacy Flight Museum in Rexburg, Idaho. It was badly damaged in a nonfatal landing accident at Rexburg in 2017, but has since been restored back to flyable condition.
52-4558 is configured as an O-1 FAC during Vietnam, with four spotter rockets under the wings; the overall gray finish actually proved to be better than camouflage, as there was no air threat over South Vietnam, and the gray did not show up as well against the often rainy skies of Southeast Asia as camouflage did. This view gives a good idea of the excellent visibility from the Birddog.
It's also not the greatest photo in the world, and this was just a case of me moving at the wrong time; the Legacy Flight Museum is neither crowded nor poorly lighted.
