I sold my soul and used the money to buy a used 5th generation 80gb ipod for pretty cheap. I run rockbox on it (rockbox.org), which is awesome. Unfortunately the battery stopped holding a charge. Replacement cost me about $30 NZD and came with a tool for opening up the ipod.
"Everyday I fight a war against the mirror - I can't take the person starin' back at me
I'm a hazard to myself
Don't let me get me
I'm my own worst enemy
Its bad when you annoy yourself - So irritating
Don't wanna be my friend no more
I wanna be somebody else"
Don't Let Me Get Me - P!nk
I decided to change the picture that I used for day 7.. It wasn't what I wanted.
So, I dont hate or annoy myself haha The other day, I sat infront of the mirror and didnt recognize the person looking back at me. I'm changing..

We replaced our old plastic CheapMart birdbaths with new faux-sculpture masterpieces ... haven't seen goldfinches bathing yet, but this one let me capture him taking a few sips.
Replacing thick plastic for thin brass. The original styrene cover is on top of the coal load, so you can see the difference. The real covers were formed sheet metal, to protect the backup lights from damage when coal was being loaded so close to them.
Breakfast was a little late this morning, as I saw a photo opportunity!
Strip light above softened with a tissue, base is foil, HDR then slight increase in contrast and saturation.
Not happy with the clarity, I still have much to learn to get a sharp image.
The road surface was replaced in our neighborhood area during the pandemic COVID-19. This is what I saw them doing. A deposed truck drove in front of the road breaker truck. The road breaker truck crushed the old asphalt surface, and suck it through a channel dropping it to the deposed truck. A shovel track cleared up all debris. A sweeping truck made groves on the road.
The roller truck pressed down and leveling the surface. An asphalt pavers truck was laying asphalt on the road. After all, we have a new surface road.
Asphalt is obtained either as a residue from the distillation of petroleum or from natural deposits. The use of asphalt is very old, dating back to its use as a water stop between brick walls of a reservoir at Mohenjo-Daro (about the 3rd millennium BC) in Pakistan. In the Middle East it was extensively used for paving roads and sealing waterworks, important applications
Replacing the tail light on my 2012 Mazda 3. For someone with no demonstrable mechanical skills, it was a modest achievement... particularly since the replacement part didn't come with instructions. Finding my way into the backside of the trunk was quite an adventure (and I cracked one of the plastic tacks before figuring out how they worked).
Instead of replacing the bushings I bought new brackets with bushings already inserted. A bit of a waste, but what the hell, it was christmas.

Frenchie.
Replaced the Fiesta. Pretty uncomfortable, gutless but it comes with a DAB radio so hey ho. To be fair, it wasn't a bad little van, great on fuel and decent in cab storage, just uncomfortable if you're over 6 foot tall and have feet.
Only had this for about 9 months.
Replacing some of the lights in the heating instrument cluser, as well as repairing and re-lubing the heating control mechanisms.
An enormous amount of unused space, some Z3 users use this 'black hole' to fit a subwoofer...
Carefully replace the lid to line up with the bottom half.
I used a simple French yogurt cake recipe from Dorie Greenspan's Around My French Table. You can find the recipe here.

In a world where gears replace stars and storms fall as silver needles, the Clockwork Hare strides through the mechanical dusk with unshakable confidence. His coat—stitched from velvet alloys and blooming crimson dyes—glows against the grim industrial haze. Brass cogs hum beneath his skin, ticking with ancient secrets. Eyes wide and ember-bright, he scans the shifting labyrinth of gears around him. Each step sparks a pulse of magic and machinery, as if he alone keeps the dying world turning.
Going to be a bigger job, thought I could get away with replacing the fronts but three rotten posts means starting again. Wore my Nora Dolomits sockless all day, 16,244 steps, 11 hours!
