Replacing a classic car windscreen

Replacing the footbridge in Keynsham Memorial Park.

Replaced by shiny new one.

Controller installed backwards! Yes backwards. The phase wires on the 2014 SR are flipped when you compare their sizes to the the 2013 S motor I had previously.

Note the bundle of taped wires are used for my IXXAT to interface with the controller.

Replaced secondary pad with a new one.

The bulging of the Surly rim strips in the Rabbit Hole rims was driving me a bit crazy. At 2.5 bars it was just too much -- I'm sure it would have been structurally fine, but it annoyed me.

I used a layer of red and silver reflective tape, covered in two layers of Gorilla Tape.

I went to a local hardware store (Breed & Co., an ACE franchisee of sorts) and they only had adhesive tape, in something like 2 inches or 50 mm.

To keep from being wasteful, I cut the tape in half, which was enough to cover the rim cutouts, if I lined it up perfectly (I did not). Given the tape was adhesive, I had the extra fun of removing backing and getting the tape as tight and centered as possible, before two tight layers of Gorilla Tape. I know a non-adhesive version of the reflective tape exists, and I’ll use it when I eventually redo these wheels. I hope it will be in longer lengths so I don’t have as many seams also.

Aside from seams showing, and some less-than-perfect alignment, I think it looks nice. It's certainly better than the giant bulges before and it adds a bit of reflectiveness.

The Schwalbe Marathon Mondial 26 x 2.15 have a good shape on these rims, and the tired just roll over everything so nicely.

In the Polaroid-Photography there is only one original and no more copy. It is just as with memories. Two people can never have exactly the same. This limitation makes it extra ordinary. And that's the major difference between a real Polaroid and a digital Instagram. So if you had the choice, what would you take? Remember, you are an original and no copy.

Very cold day. The suppliers sent the wrong size fan belt and we have to flush out the green antifreeze to use red.. Wan left at 3 pm to get a new fan belt and did not return because of rain… difficult fittings to secure a small fuel hose around the new Belt Tensioner pulley that came with the van in 2015. Also came with a Repco Made in China fan belt that is not recommended as they squeak and squeal.

The Tatra 603 is a large rear-engined sedan manufactured by the long established Tatra vehicle business in former Czechoslovakia. The model replaced the T600 model in 1956. Three versions of the model T603 were manufactured successively between 1956 and 1975. These cars are designated T603-1, T603-2 and T603-3, though the -3 was not an official designation used by Tatra. The T603-1 is easily distinguished by its three headlamps enclosed beneath a clear plastic cover. The T603-2 had four headlamps mounted within a long oval grill, while the unofficial -3 omits the grill and places the headlamps flush with the car's front fascia. To complicate matters, as Model T603's were returned to the factory to be exchanged for "new" model T603's, the older cars would be disassembled and rebuilt to the current styling. These cars were then returned to use as "new" T603's. As a result, most T603's are of the later -3 styling, regardless of their original production date.

This modern structure was built in 1956-57, and replaced a courthouse that resembled the Chase County Courthouse. The former Greenwood County Courthouse was erected in 1873. This one was designed by the firm of Thomas W. Williamson & Victor Loebsack of Topeka.

It is considered a contributing property to the 2019 listing of the Eureka Downtown Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places.

After much shenanigans, I've replaced the bolt to hold the return lever on. But what's that hole for? Oh, botheration.

When I first read about the Kor One Hydration Vessel on some environmental blog, I made a mental note to buy one. A+R Store had them, but you can get them at REI and other places. I’m just lazy.

It’s just a water bottle. The plastic isn’t squeezable so think of it more as a thermos for water.

The nice thing is you can make your own inspirational caps. Their website is supposed to have some downloadable, but it only has the defaults.

Winter can make for some great post cards.

I didn't like the darker water bottom left so I brightened it just a smidge and changed the sharpening from USM to high pass to eliminate halos.

I should probably add that this is not HDR. Merely a long-ish exposure with attention paid to contrast.

Car Wash replaced in 2023 with a brand new Istobal M’Wash3 Pro - flic.kr/p/2pgkQ9K

replaced our old fake tree (must be 30 years old) with a slightly smaller, slimmer model, because the old one took up so much floor space - which is now my Work From Home office.

Didn't waste the old tree - it's been passed on to a family who didn't have a tree.

Well, as long as it's "authentic" 10/9/07

She got me a fitbit to replace the one I wore for six years - and lost in the flower bed. By the Spring, it was kaput.

The Charge 5 does far more than I know how to use. But I'll get there.

For my height, 10,000 steps = 5 miles. I've briskly walked 150 miles this month - 5 miles at a time, thank goodness!

The Lumen Christi United Reformed Church in Tavistock Place, London replaces an 1820s building destroyed by a V2 rocket in World War II. The new building opened in 1966 to the designs of architect Courtenay Theobold but was imaginitively remodelled in 2007 by Theis & Khan who added the stricking conical reflective space whose diagonal form divides the interior and pierces the ceiling like a solidified ray of light.

Other features of artistic interest are the windows at either end of the building, at the liturgical east (actual south) end is a fine example of 1960s dalle de verre stained glass by Pierre Fourmaintraux, whilst the main facade at the opposite end features a striking sculptural metal lattice forming a beautiful geometric pattern by artist Rona Smith.

This striking contemporary church is well worth a visit though I'm unsure of normal opening times as we visited as part of London Open House in September 2019.
