Ahhhh she finally arrived! She's just a prize figure by FuRyu (only cost 1400 yen!) but I've been so excited to receive her ever since I saw a picture of her featured at a figure convention months ago. The lovely frills and folds of her dress are made even more beautiful with shining pink and white pearlescent paint, ahhhh ♥_♥ and the giant bow on the back and her transparent veil are stunning!
I was squealing and couldn't wait to open her so I just snapped a quick picture while I was on my lunch break. I can't wait to take some proper photos of her to show off just how lovely she is ^____^ Ahhhh she's soooo cute... OK, breathe, breathe...
Fly first class and View Large on Black
A Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) flies in front of some rather impressive iridescent clouds (they really do look like this!).
Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day All!
It seems right around the same time windy weather hit the Front Range of Colorado we started to see more iridescent clouds. I don't know if there's a true correlation, but it would seem that wind could help maintain thin clouds with similar size droplets needed for diffraction to make them shine with color such as we see here. Maybe I should ask Iris, heh.
Getting closer. Folded from a 40cm square of mulberry paper. Increased the grid from 64 to 80, may need to go higher
Dodgy paint job applied after folding. Acrylic ink on the body and vegetable oil on the wings for translucency
Looking at this, I had the sudden realisation that, say, 20 years ago, many of the colours of bricks I used in this model didn't exist. White, black and yellow were around, as were the transparent colours and white obviously (and the blue tiles I used for the license plates), but no tan (or very little of it), dark red, dark blue, sand blue, dark tan, reddish brown, light blueish grey, dark blueish grey, dark orange or pearlescent grey, let alone medium azure. Amazing how far LEGO has come.
Taken for SSC 06/04/2019 - Trees .
I started out taking a shot of the curly wurly tree in our garden ( see link to view )
www.flickr.com/photos/149636765@N04/47489189682/in/datepo...
but was not happy with the clarity of the shot . However , on the approach to the local church there are a number of trees which look quite fascinating , none in leaf yet but so green with a parasitic growth forming globular green patches about four feet diameter . Hands up who knows what the growth is -- for those that are unsure , it is mistletoe !
I am not so sure what the main trees are but there is a good half dozen if not more covered with the bunches of mistletoe !!
Quite what made me choose sepia to present the shot I am not sure , but somehow I liked it .
Welcome to the Mistletoe Pages, a website packed with information about mistletoe; its biology, traditions, cultivation and conservation.
( taken from " The Mistletoe Pages " )
The site is mainly about the ‘original’ mistletoe of northern Europe, and concentrates mostly on its status, management, conservation and traditions in the UK.
This species is technically known as European White-berried Mistletoe, Viscum album. Most people just call it Mistletoe of course.
There are many other mistletoes around the world, including some others used in Christmas and midwinter celebrations, but Europe’s Viscum album is the original and, arguably, the best mistletoe.
Most popular traditions were originally based on this species, so it’s particularly important in folklore.
And it is the only mistletoe that has the distinctive forked branches, paired symmetrical evergreen leaves and pearlescent white berries associated with midwinter and Christmas.
But other mistletoe species feature in the website too, so do have a look around even if you don’t have the original mistletoe growing in your neighbourhood!
and from Wikipedia
Mistletoe is the English common name for most obligate hemiparasitic plants in the order Santalales. They are attached to their host tree or shrub by a structure called the haustorium, through which they extract water and nutrients from the host plant. Their parasitic lifestyle have led to some dramatic changes in their metabolism.
The name mistletoe originally referred to the species Viscum album (European mistletoe, of the family Santalaceae in the order Santalales); it is the only species native to the British Isles and much of Europe. A separate species, Viscum cruciatum, occurs in Southwest Spain and Southern Portugal, as well as Morocco (North Africa) and southern Africa.
Over the centuries, the term has been broadened to include many other species of parasitic plants with similar habits, found in other parts of the world, that are classified in different genera and even families—such as the Misodendraceae and the Loranthaceae.
In particular, the eastern mistletoe native to North America, Phoradendron leucarpum, belongs to a distinct genus of the family Santalaceae. The genus Viscum is not native to North America, but Viscum album has been introduced to California. European mistletoe has smooth-edged, oval, evergreen leaves borne in pairs along the woody stem, and waxy, white berries that it bears in clusters of two to six. The Eastern mistletoe of North America is similar, but has shorter, broader leaves and longer clusters of 10 or more berries.
For Sight and Sound an obvious choice is Rush but as an extra one I have not heard before is Jon and Rick Wakeman

no freckles. Not goth. Eyebrows should not be too long, too short, too thin, too thick, too dark or too light. -___-
Another instruction I got for all the dolls is not to use cheap lashes and to make sure they show up and don't fall off....I have to say my lash application is fairly sturdy. Just dont dunk in water or pull hard on them.
I had several thoughts here. I do a lot of natural looking faceups and so I like to play around a bit if I have the chance. At first I wanted to do a light eyeshadow with classic red lip look but Inti wasn't too keen on that so I went more natural with a warm gold/brown/green eyeshadow look and pearlescent peachy gold lips.
I kind of love her lol.
Eyelashes used are from ForMyDoll Eyelash AA in brown but it is customized by adding individual hairs for a lusher more natural look. Until I find lashes that suit the look I want, this is the method I use and it's very time consuming. Formydoll lashes are $2.50 and the extra customization cost $10. (as i said, very time consuming.)

Lothian purchased fifteen Enviro 400 Hybrids in 2011 and these were Edinburgh's first hybrid buses built by Alexander Dennis in Falkirk.
The fleet group was also the first to have audio service information announcements which, initially operated on Service 10. Nearly six years later they are still to be found mostly on the 10 but sadly one of them, number 212 has become victim to a huge repair cost and at nearly £60,000 this may be too much to fulfil.
As well as the audio announcements, spoken by Debbie Cannon, the Enviros have tv-monitor route diagrams on board which are marvellous for giving the duration to your destination. This practice is very common in other cities but sadly, with the exception of a few handfuls on other new buses since 2011, the operation has got derailed somewhere along the line, much to the irritation of the travelling public.
Painted originally in a Radiance Red over Winter Gold i.e. the standard Weinrot und Weiss colours were modified for a pearlescent paint version, these often troublesome vehicles are now being repainted in the standard generic Weinrot und Weiss Mk II which I think makes the body contours sharper and fresher in appearance.

I’ve been working on incorporating what I was taught as a painter in college into my landscape photos. I see so many HDR landscapes with over-saturated colors that I thought I’d take a different route. My main concern as it is every artist who works in a 2D format is to give the illusion of depth, that is, the Z axis. I do this as I was taught as a painter by cooling color as it recedes in the background (usually at a faster rate than what it would be in real life). I soften and reduce detail as the land moves into the background. I also have been experimenting with techniques that reproduce the kinds of pearlescent skies that we used to get using oil glazes.
Lumene was born in the 70's and when I was taught in the early 70's I remember that the eyelids used bright pearlescent shades that were spread all the way to the eyebrows and the eyebrow might be highlighted in white. However, eye makeup was softer than it was in the 1960s. But I always made it too strong, I was almost like a Black Mask. The make-up cream was clearly darker than its own skin, on which no powder was used. But I always powder the eyelids and lips before applying makeup to make them stick better. meikissä helmiäinenEyebrow trimming were made with a pen and the interior was popular, which caused me a lot of difficulty. The lashes were turned and the mascara was applied so much that the lashes clumped. Sometimes with an old toothbrush I tried to get the lumps off. Mascara was available in many different shades, I always got the darkest of what was found. Trim and pastel shades were preferred on the lips. The lips had to shine and I got good old advice to apply a colorless petrolatum top to the center of the lips which gave a great shine. . At the end of the decade, the color of the lipstick darkened. Blush was applied as a round spot to the center of the face as a creamy orange or pink pearl. I used a lot of pearls around my eye makeup and lips as an accent. I loved using perle meik the most in the 70s, maybe too much. The eyebrows were really thin I drove them completely off and replaced them with thin dark brown curves. Here the limit of success and failure was the greatest. Long rather than short hair was in vogue. My first wig was long haired. I didn’t know how to care for it and always combed it carefully before putting it to use. Long hair was permanent. Men also took permanent ones and afro was in vogue.
The makeup was liquid and I usually liked it if my face was shiny, making it look the richest, greasy. I chose make-up cream usually darker than my own skin. The powder was not used because the skin was wanted to be natural and radiant. But sometimes when I didn’t have time, or bothered, to apply the make-up cream, I used a richly tinted powder that covered the unevenness of the skin and the beard had to be shaved with real care with the tow or razor I had learned to use. Blush was used extensively under the cheekbone and the shade was often orange.
I often left out the use of blush altogether.
In eye makeup, eyeshadow was applied all the way to the eyebrow. Pearls were my favorites. A wide range of colors was found, including blue green, brown.
The shades of lipstick were pink, beige and orange brown which I prefer the latter the most.
View across the Lagoon to Sestiere Dorsoduro, from Riva dei Partigiani, Venice, after a rainstorm. And here's information about Dorsoduro, one of the six districts (sestiere) of Venice: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorsoduro Thanks for stopping by. I will respond on Your photostreams. Have a good week! =0)
[Two more images below, Flickr friends. The Mediterranean in its gentle aspect....under soft winter skies.]
Description: I had just arrived in Venice, it was my first afternoon there, and I walked along the waterfront that faces Dorsoduro under a moody winter sky that had just begin to clear from a rainstorm. I had heard so much about Venice it was interesting to start recognizing those aspects of the place that I had read about, and to see for myselft the soft shimmering light Venice is known for.
And there it was in front of my very eyes! I did my best to take a picture that would convey the lyricism of this kind of moment. When I eventually go to print the large file of this photo it will take a little doing to transmit that magical moment to paper. But I will definitely try. In the meantime, here's a peek at one of the reasons I fell in love with Venice, aside from its great architecture. The presence of water all around, and no cars, not one single car. Soft water lapping at the docks, surrounding one everywhere. How peaceful and soothing it is!
"You might want to take a look out the window..."
So coaxed my wife as she nudged me awake, my sleep-addled photographer's brain kicking in as I jumped with a start and rose to sweep a curtain aside. Not much can get me out of bed that quickly early in the morning - could it be, could it be? It was! Fog!
Twenty minutes later an unshaven and bleary-eyed (but excited!) yours truly was heading out in search of opportunity, cursing the wildly innacurate weather report I'd watched the night before and my subsequent lack of preparation. It was still a good half hour before sunrise, and thick pearlescent shrouds of grey vapour were clinging to the streetlights as if threatening to engulf them. As I drove past the local river, ashen mist blankets hung inches from the dewy banks, and everything had that eerie quality that only comes with such conditions - a seeming muffled reality.
This was one of my first images of the day in a local park. I'd decided to eschew the beaches and instead concentrate on what was closest to home initially, misty conditions rarely last at this time of year and are prone to burn off almost as quickly as they occur. Snapping away it was liberating too for once to shoot without the usual encumbrance of my heavy ND filters, typically I take a very limited number of shots over a given time but I was determined to bag something worthwhile and the day warranted a change of tactic. Time felt of the essence and each exposure was radically short compared to my usual LE work, filling my CF card at a rate of knots. Oddly, it soon became clear (no pun intended) that the sun had no intention of casting aside the cloying atmosphere anytime soon. Having explored all the possibilities I wanted too at this location, I raced on to a second nearby park and completed my mission there. By this time it was almost 10am, and still no change in the weather. A chance then to head on to the coast and see what awaited me - racking my brains to remember some of those possibilities I had shelved to memory for just such an occasion.
In retrospect, I have realised that in fact I forgot two key shots from the ones I'd mentally stored previously. They will have to await another day, but how refreshing it was to think I'd bagged several possibilities in a short space of time - making up for recent day-long excursions when I'd returned empty handed. All in all I'm almost embarrased to say I'd shot over 160 exposures by the time the mist eventually cleared at noon while I was in Torquay, but certainly my hit rate felt pretty good and I had no qualms as I headed home. Compare this with the 10 or so I might usually make over such a timeframe...
It wasn't until later that a work colleague told me he'd been a little further along the coast throughout, where the fog had remained unabated for the entire day. For once I hardly cared!
Thanks so much for looking at my pictures and for your comments. I truly appreciate that. Much obliged.

In the sacred glades beyond the Veil of Color, where time flows like light through crystal, lives Seraphina, high enchantress of the Prism Court. Her presence is a living aurora — skin kissed by lavender moonlight, hair painted in the full spectrum of dawn, and eyes like twin galaxies locked in bloom.
She wears a diadem of living emeralds, each stone pulsing with the essence of ancient spells. Her wings shimmer with pearlescent hues, catching even unseen light — a fusion of opal, stardust, and dream-thread. When she moves, the air sings. When she speaks, reality listens.
Clad in garments woven from enchanted light and echoing magic itself, Seraphina is more than a pixie — she is a myth carved in color, a guardian of balance, and the last keeper of chromatic truth. Her aura bends time. Her touch heals or shatters.
To see her is to remember beauty beyond mortality.
As a child of the nineties, Ghostbusters was almost as ubiquitous as LEGO. I would don my Proton Pack for venturing into the basement... sometimes. I can guarantee that this creepy dude certainly contributed to the panging fear in the back of my mind. While the first movie was fun and freaky, Vigo- the Scourge of Carpathia, the Sorrow of Moldovia - was downright unsettling. Here he sits in his painting, his disembodied head hovering above the River of Slime - feeding off of the hatred and anger of New York City. The scene is compete with slime encasing the art museum, slime blower units, Dana, Oscar, and Janosz Poha covered in happy-slime, awaiting to awaken jubilant and free of Vigo's grasp.
May we all have a New Years Eve as uplifting and freeing of the evil, fear, and hatred that has plagued us in this troubling year.
Built for the LEGO Ideas Ghostbusters Contest
P.S. If you watch the movie, come back to chat about the continuity errors I had to solve while building this scene. Mostly with parts-on-hand, as usual, but it was all inspired a couple weeks ago by an early Solstice gift of the small Disney Princess Carriage with 2 of the pearlescent trans pink silk elements. After a nearly-not-arriving-in-time Bricklink rabbit-hole, we have arrived. Enjoy, and happy holidays - especially New Year!

To cap off my Gloss Convention review, here is the last doll that I deboxed and it is Intimate Reveal Agnes. Okay… What makes her so great? And why is she a must-have? The fact that they brought back the Optic Verve face design alone makes her a must-have. I mean… Who would have thought Integrity was going to do that? Whenever I think of the ideal Agnes automatically Optic Verve comes to mind. I am so grateful for IT as they brought back fan-favorite face designs for some of the dolls from Gloss including Fine Jewel Eugenia and Morning Dew Giselle. There is certain sadness with Agnes or sometimes a haughty expression on her face but that’s what makes Agnes who she is. You can tell by her face what type of woman she is and certainly her personality. What I love about Intimate Reveal is that she has what Georgina Chapman would call “decaying opulence”. There is a story and drama behind her look. Normally I am not a fan of spaghetti straps but with her lingerie inspired gown I am blown away by her paillette encrusted train. Floored actually! Like, amazing! LOL. The Optic Verve face screening does have raccoon like eyeshadows but what’s different with Intimate Reveal is that they painted it in a pearlescent finish so her eyeshadows appears and disappears depending on where the light hits her face. While she does have the Optic Verve face design, her color palette is closer to Silver Zinger. She is an amalgam of two of the greatest versions of Agnes. Because of Intimate Reveal, my Utlimate Wishlist suddenly shifted. Integrity gave us an amazing Collection at the Gloss Convention that I feel I don’t need to have certain Holy Grail dolls… Well, except for Optic Verve Agnes. She’s still one of the dolls I want to have someday. Since Jason Wu mentioned, starting with The Premiere Convention from last year, that from here on out Convention dolls will be wearing miniaturized versions of his designs. Then in that case I’ll probably go to the event every year. Like seriously, I had the best time. Definitely the highlight of my year. I’m not even looking forward to Christmas as it already came early for me.
Pilgrims in a pine temple
Wandering into the silent and bear-black forest, the silvered sliver of a hooking moon set, we filled every silent space with amber-toothed, snarling phantoms and held them at bay with nips of cognac and the click of the shutter. Silhouettes under pearlescent starlight, the big trees are primeval minarets, spires of the oldest and grandest cathedral on Earth. We moved reverently, slowly - pilgrims in a pine temple come in the dark to play witness.
Some amongst these trees were old when men lashed Andromeda to the briny rocks and awaited the leviathan. We've filled the interceding centuries with other lambs led to slaughter, and emerging from darkness, discovered her still radiant, shackled to a constellation that is dying in a corner of the sky. Then as now, we are infants amongst giants, in wonder at skies the big trees have seen reel a million times, shades passing in the night. These are the days of miracle and wonder indeed.
We headed into the Sierras looking for a winter adventure, hoping for giant, snow-bound sentinels holding winter in great, fragrant handfuls. Instead we found beautiful, unseasonable warmth and clear night skies amongst the carpeted and ancient groves. We came for the snow and found so much more in its absence.</p
Was in two minds as to whether or not this was nacreous cloud, mainly due to the lack of iridescence, but observations for elsewhere and the cloud structure and movement suggest that it probably is. I had been monitoring the stratosphere temperature forecast (30 Hpa) over the last week, and identified Tuesday the 3rd as the most likely day when they might form, with temperatures expected to be close to minus 85 C. Nacreous clouds are a pretty rare winter clouds over the UK , forming at around 50,000-80,000 feet 2-3 times as high as cirrus clouds, and are most notable for there pearlescent colours, that can persist briefly after sunset.
The Nacreous clouds in this shot are the white clouds above the Mither Tap, with the cirrus showing up in the usual sunset pink

Mermaid Dotees of my own design. I've been having fun making Dotees, but I've fallen in love with these!
The hair is composed of my own handspun wool yarns, DMC pearlescent effects embroidery floss (a real pain to work with), sea green nylon thread and some textured cotton weaving yarn, all strung here and there with beads. I love the effect this mix of yarn and thread gives!

This event was inspired by a dream...
The soft hum of dream pop gently fades in, as if the sound itself is pulling her from the shadows of sleep. She opens her eyes to a world bathed in sunset—the sky is a hazy lavender and reddish orange, with stars flickering softly like forgotten memories. The air feels thick, like velvet, and everything around her glows with a surreal, pearlescent light. This is The Transcendent Realm—the dream world she has created to escape the harshness of life. In the distance, a tall man approaches, his figure gleaming like a beacon. His outfit is almost otherworldly, sleek and futuristic, all in white. His face, translucent and glowing, radiates warmth, but his eyes are deep, almost unknowable. The dreamstream hums with the sound of ethereal shoegazing as he moves closer, as if the music is an extension of the dream itself. "Welcome," he says, his voice a mix of soothing tones, like notes drifting through fog. He extends a hand, and she takes it without hesitation. His touch feels light, almost weightless, but it grounds her in this dream world in a way she can't explain. They walk together, and he leads her through the Transcendent Realm, where the impossible feels ordinary. Juniper trees with beautiful leaves sway in rhythm to the surreal electronica soundtrack that surrounds them, their colors look painted. The sky above seems to stretch endlessly, as if the horizon has no end. It's beautiful, and yet, there’s an underlying familiarity in it. She pauses as they pass a small grove of trees, and a wave of curiosity washes over her. The man notices her hesitation. "What is it?" he asks, his glowing face turning toward hers."This place..." she murmurs. "It reminds me of my childhood. I used to be so curious about everything around me." In her mind, fleeting images of her younger self exploring the woods near her home flash by—innocent, unburdened by the weight of reality. He smiles gently, but his gaze remains enigmatic. "Curiosity has a way of bringing us back to ourselves." They continue walking, the music around them evolving—soft, dreamlike, and tinged with melancholy, as though the notes are holding memories she’s forgotten. But then, without warning, the peaceful soundtrack is shattered by a sudden, blinding flash of light. Lightning, crackling with raw energy, strikes a massive stone structure in the distance. The sound reverberates through the air, sharp and overwhelming. Her heart pounds in her chest as she stares at the smoldering rock, the force of it so vivid it feels real. Too real. Before she can process it, the world begins to blur, the dream dissolving around her like smoke in the wind. She gasps, sitting up abruptly in her bed, her pulse racing. The Transcendent Realm is gone. Days pass, and she can’t shake the image of the man, his glowing face, his enigmatic smile. He seemed so real, more than just a figment of her imagination. Who was he? Was he a stranger from her waking world or a part of her own subconscious that had taken form in the dream? She finds herself longing to return to the Transcendent Realm, to the beauty of the place, and to the mystery of the man who showed her a world beyond the ordinary. Every night, she lies awake, hoping that sleep will take her back there. Back to him. But each time, she wakes up to reality. The music of the dream lingers in her mind, haunting her, pulling her back toward a world she can’t quite reach. She knows one thing for certain—whatever the Transcendent Realm is, it’s not just a dream. It’s a part of her now, forever etched in the space between dreams and reality.
See you soon, where we can all escape and dream for a while.
XOXO

Now I am starting to get into the holiday spirit. I can't put these on the tree this year since they are glass and the kittens don't completely respect "No" in reference to the tree....but I had to take these out and look at them. Have a wonderful Friday (and if you have time, hit L on your keyboard for more Glimmer).
Planets are dangerous places. I’ve seen enough to know that. Never really wanted to STAY on one, but that’s another story.
Back in Stardate 5307.55, my crew and I landed on one of the largest asteroids in the known galaxies, the big gas giants hanging out the viewing fields of the ship. It was a rock big enough to have the best sports/war arenas, the best entertainment and gaming centers for natural encounters- NOT virtual! and the best bars. Yeah, places you could grab a cocktail, see some faces. When you’ve been on the outer rim as long as we had, it was more than deserved.
I’d like to say we could blend in with any group on any world, but that would be a lie. We were a small crew, more like a band of pirates, really, sailing on solar winds. And small is a relative term. There were about 2700 of us, in our dapper spray-on rainbow stripes. About as camo as braille to the sightless.
I’m tall, 3.3528 meters, probably why I am the captain, and you can read up on that- tall characters tend to have better positions of power. Not my idea, but it works. And it’s nice, for scoping out a world you’ve never been on. Especially the bar scenes.
We had stopped off at Sazerac Cosmic Bar- I saw a vid on it one time, as a reference to some little known place way back in time on Earth somewhere. It seemed to come up to standards; the crew was impressed. Me, too.
As an outworlder and virtual space hermit- along with the 2699 others I live with- I had never seen so many different beings in one place. Aisles and rows and levels of beings everywhere! Skins, scales, feathers, fur. Deep purple, pale pearlescent, fiery orange, and dark green, hues of blues, red to die for. Spotted and geometric, and eyes of every shade and count. Smooth, rough, clothed and nude- I guess. Flippers, hands, tentacles, feet . . . Can’t say I didn’t appreciate the fellow with the 10 eyes at the table who kept sending over the fizzy pink snow drink! But I’m not an alien alien. Read that as people person, okay? He was cute, obviously had the credits to buy anything, but just not my type.
It’s boring to be alone in a big crowd, and I began to think of going back to the ship early, then there he was, with some odd old fashioned gadget in his hands, holding it like a weapon. My reaction time is pretty good, and I pinned him to the wall before he could smile.
But then he DID smile, and said, “Hey! I really like your pink hair! Kinda stands out here. I’m friendly, see? Friendly? You know friendly?”
I laughed and let him slide to the floor the last two feet instead of dropping him.
“Yeah, I know friendly. What IS that thing you are carrying around?! I thought you were trying to kill me!”
“Oh! I DID mean to shoot you, but no danger- It’s a camera! Old world stuff; found it at a flea market on one of the trade planets! It is so cool- captures images, scenes! I came over to ask if I could take your portrait!” His smile and accent were hypnotic.
I’ve heard a lot of lines; this all sounded bogus. Especially the line about the pink hair. There’s one on every planet ready to con you.
“What will it cost me?” I asked.
“To take your photo, or NOT to take your photo?!” He laughed.
I could see his point. That’s how I met Justin.

Spring daffodils speckle the banks.
Mountain slopes.
A pearlescent string of sumptuous silver lochs

Loch Shiel stands in as the secret “Black Lake.”
Pine forests.
Glenfinnan Monument marks the spot where
the Jacobite Standard was raised in 1745.
Holiday lodges.
Quaint railway halt.
Glens to remote and wild Knoydart.
Sweeping, meandering loch

and flat, boggy Claish Moss, at its southern end, near Moidart.
On the glorious “Road to the Isles.”
So much lavish and varied scenery to savour.
We are blessed indeed!
Pearlescent patina on wet sand with subtle hues and tones of sand, sea, and sky, lava reefs, reflections, surf, beach and ocean as seen on Stephens Bay. To the right, a Nazca booby has started its dive for a fish. On the horizon are Kicker Rock (Roca León Dormido) and two distant ships (the closer being the National Geographic Endeavour). Beautiful 458 Italia in a pearlescent Maserati white (Bianco Fuji: tri-layered). This belongs to the Naza family (all three brothers have F458 Italias - G1M10, G1M18, G1M23; pearl white, white, black respectively).
Beautiful (optional) Carbon Fiber skirts as well. Rims are also spot on. Hands down the best looking Italia I've seen so far.
In terms of exciting freight trains on the RhB it doesn't really get a lot better than this!
While the Ge4/4i's dating from 1947 are regularly rostered to working freight trains on the network, a continuing shortage of traction following the withdrawal of the Ge6/6ii's has led to several occasions recently where the heritage 'Crocodiles' dating from 1921 (though these working preserved locomotives were actually commissioned in 1929) have also been booked to the freight turns.
The 'Croc's' are generally reserved for working heritage trains, including the daily Davos - Filisur train during the summer months, so finding that 415 was rostered to the early Ilanz freight turn was an unexpected bonus.
415 was laid up for much of 2021 for maintenance following an overhaul which has also seen it painted into a special pearlescent livery to mark 100 years of the class. Fortunately the light here has not highlighted the purple or blue shades of this livery too severely!
415 is pictured here in the Rhine Gorge approaching the station at Trin with a lengthy narrow gauge train of bogie wood wagons and containerised water from Ilanz to Landquart.
My trip report from France and Switzerland is availabe now on my blog here.
I always build my digital models with IRL buildability as a first priority. This means that the model has to be structuraly sound and that the parts have to exist. While the structure is difficult to assess fully, I normally check the parts that I am not sure of with Bricklink for color options.
For some reason, I never bothered to do that for the baby bows and I was very suprised to find that they did not come in pearlescent gold. It turns out, most of the gold parts in the hulkbuster did not exist.
I reviewed all of the parts and I found a very simple and straightforward solution: switch the gold parts to yellow orange just like the Iron Man brickheadz set itself. I think the final (and now buildable) model actually fits even better into the brickheadz caricature style.
I promise, no more hulkbuster uploads! New models will come soon.
I had a “Surprise B*tch! Moment” on this one I’m telling you. I am a huge fan of the Color Infusion dolls but I don’t know if the timing is right for this capsule collection to be revealed this early. I just feel like there’s so much going on at once already. I actually was hoping for Color Infusion to be released outside of the convention, and here it is! I don’t know why I’m not jumping for joy. Maybe because there's so much to take in already. But since they will be shipped in June then I guess their timing will be just right as soon as the dolly drought hits us by then. This collection seems like an extension of the Perfect Pose Studio Collection from the 2014 Gloss Convention Color Infusion Style Lab, in fact they look like dolls that were considered for Style Lab but due to the already massive selection of dolls they just didn’t make the cut I’m assuming.
I think this version of Nyasha Lauder is better than the 2013 version. I do like the face design, however I’m cringing by the sight of her blue eyeshadows. I want neutrals, I want earth tones, golds, metallics… That’s what I want. I’m just hoping the yellow eyelids will be gold on the production doll. I love her hair. This was the hairstyle I was hoping for Janay but she got her usual soft curls. I did love the black version of Nyasha’s outfit from the Convention and since it was one of my favorites, I think it’s forgivable that we get to see a color and material variation. She would have been perfect if she didn’t have those eyeshadows. Like, seriously. I’m cringing. Hopefully she’s more stunning in hand compared to her promo pics. (Ooh! I just read the description and it says "one piece jumpsuit", then in that case I wished they could have changed the silhouette of the pants and slimmed it down instead of the bell bottoms just to make it different from the black two piece Night Fever jumpsuit from convention, d'you know wha I mean?)
I only like Jacqueline O’Rion (who I’m predicting is Laka’s sister) because of her dress. Thank you Integrity for giving us a black hooded dress similar to the OOAK Femme Rouge Erin! It's very Lady Gaga in Versace. I think if it was a floor length dress it would have been more stunning. I love the Synergy sculpt for Jacqueline but I’m not a fan of her face design which was similar to Darby Kenner’s and Fabiana Diaz’s. Face designs that I think were inspired from the vintage doll Darci from Kenner. I lean towards a more edgy make-up like 2013 Tilda Brisby with her smokey eyes. So I’m hoping to see Jacqueline with a different, more contemporary face design in the future.
I hate to say it but Zara Wade is the most put-together in this collection. I really don’t want to love her because I feel I don’t need a tanned Zara. Like nope, I don’t need her. But her face design is perfection! I love her pearlescent eyeshadows, I love the texture of her dress, her belt, her accessories. She looks really good.
So I, um, pre-ordered all three. Yikes! I have so many Color Infusion dolls already but there’s always room for fashions so whichever doll I don’t like I’m just going to sell nude. I only have room for the fiercest so if they’re not fierce enough they get booted off the dolly island.

Malibu Glam Misaki. LOOOOVE that the feet come off now. These shoes were so easy to get on. These shoes are so lovely too, with the pearlescent nude color. The jewelry is great too, there is a Versace Medusa head on the earrings and ring! I didn't use the ring, I never do, but REALLY neat detail. So IRL, I wear big rings. It's funny I don't bother with my dolls.
The wig is by me, the bracelets from Serenity Vanessa, who is SUCH a stunning doll BTW, and barrettes from Like No Other Nadja.
This VW Golf Cabriolet from Belgium, was travelling along the M20 motorway. A very interesting example here, given that firstly Golf MkIV Cabriolets are far from common in the UK these days, plus they're also based on the older Mk3 Chassis. This one was also finished in a pearlescent purple colour, very distinctive.

Poem.
The gossamer sunlit trails of a calm bay at sunrise.
The moored yachts, motionless, seemingly frozen on these bejewelled, mirrored waters.
The rising sun gleams in pearlescent brilliance.
The silhouetted domed hills of Loch Carron are a
grey and indigo backcloth to this
quicksilver and golden sea.

I asked the bloke sitting in his deck chair next to this 3D work of art how much he wanted for it...well it was up for sale. "£45k but I'll take £42k for it" he calmly replied!
His 1948 Cadillac 62 Series Custom 2 Door Hardtop was one of only two in the country, (UK). It was immaculate inside and out. The pearlescent paint job had a creamy glow to it which I hope I've captured in this shot. The front was covered in acres of gorgeous, bulbous, chrome. I must admit I was tempted to put hand in pocket and stump up the asking price but I only had 20 quid...oh well.
