I cropped this out of a wider shot. Aside from the shot itself, I liked seeing my reflection in the pearls!
The complexity and subtle color combined with the pearlescent quality our skies often exhibit are what attracted me to this one.
i don't know what this is - it was bright and milky and pearlescent, and about an hour later a lot of iridescent clouds formed

These ones in particular appear simular to abalone shell, but they are infact mother of pearl in a lovely shade of mottled grey with pearlescent tones.

Not the best time to run out of body coloured paint... This side of the van looks better than the other at the moment, which will remain very patchy until I get hold of more paint. Still, looks better than the rust that was there before!

A tiny (fits in the palm of my hand) coptic bound book with navy blue covers, pearlescent pages and gold and red plum blossom flowers on the cover (you can't really see it in the photo but the paper is high gloss and metallic). The book is bound with red cotton perle thread and the wrap around is hand-braided threads. The card stock is a lovely orange with navy flecks on one side and navy blue on the other; the same material used in the covers for the book.
The book is held in place my another piece of card that slots through the front of the atc to the back. Another card was added with heart shaped brads to cover the slotted card and neaten things up :) The little book is fully removable if desired.

Used Viva Pearl modeling cream on TCW mini flower stencil. Pearlescent watercolors on daisy from A Year of Flowers 2 GKD. Daisy was fussy cut and popped up. Nice shine in real life.

On the way home from a wedding, I spotted this pearlescent white DB9 Volante driving about 5 cars in front of me (using what apparently is some kind of Aston-Martin-Spider-Sense, as it was also in another lane and between some cars).
After fighting to catch up to it and listening to the V12 start and stop at the lights, we finally passed it and my friend took this picture with his phone.
A great ending to a nice day!
