The patches in this blanket were all knitted or crocheted by the members of my dog forum - some actually by me. I sowed them all together, put on backing material to keep everything in place and then sewed the fleece onto the back to make everything a little thicker and cosier. All hand-stitched.
The blanket was a present for my vet friend, Irina, in Bucharest.
She was thrilled to bits.

i have one more set of quilt lines to go across this whole quilt. i want this one nice + densely quilted! i can't believe how well i was able to quilt this one--no lumps or tucks (definitely a first for me)! maybe i finally have a clue about what i'm doing? i think it was more luck than anything else, since i only have about 40 basting pins + should really be using about 400 to appropriately baste a largish quilt.
i'm absolutely *loving* the diamond shapes in the quilted lines--it adds to the vintage feel of the quilt which makes me beyond pleased.
can't wait to get this one finished up so i can move on to the next before all of my quilting mojo is gone!
Going through my photos and found these taken in Egypt in 2010. They have great patterns perfect for turning into patchwork quilts!
