with buffalo chilli, and a cheese log. The meatballs were pretty basic I think (breadcrumbs, egg), the chili came from deglazing the pan with rye and adding some spices.
The cheese log is from the boy's cheese class at Brush Creek Dairy. He made it himself earlier that day and it was delicious! Coated in sage and lavender.

Actually, the "Bocce Ball" at The Garlic in Killington, Vermont. According to the menu, it's a "housemade oven roasted 16 ounce filet mignon meatball topped with marinara sauce and pecorino romano cheese served on linguini".
Here's my plate. That's local Vermont organic farm corn from Sunrise Farm, VT. The sandwiches are the meatballs cooked in tomato pasta sauce (it's a commercial brand, not sure what kind because we thawed it from the freezer where we had stored half a can of it, something cheap, probably Hunt's) and then mixed with red and yellow peppers (bought today out of the produce market bin at Shaw's) sauteed in olive oil. Those bulkie rolls they're sitting on are homemade from a King Arthur Flour no-knead challah recipe. You can see we eat a mixture of local and organic and homemade, plus the cheapest of the cheap commercial food.

I add some garlic and Kalles Kaviar in my meatballs or Köttbullar as we like to call them. This is leftovers from dinner the other evening.

When I heard my wife was making turkey meatballs for dinner, I frowned. I should have trusted my wife’s excellent track record of cooking delicious meals but turkey and meatballs just didn’t seem to go together well. Of course I was wrong. Fei had found a recipe from Cooks Illustrated that yielded these meaty delights with the perfect texture and flavors. Lesson learned. Never. Doubt. Your. Wife.
