Auf meiner Fensterbank. Steht der Verkehr immer noch still.

Although I had the window wide open and the way into the vastness of the summery landscape was accessible, the bus driver was extremely patient. He just stayed in his place and held the steering wheel tightly in his hands. No passenger far and wide, no one to see – no one who had planned an excursion into the countryside. The chirping of the birds sounded tempting, and the buzzing of the insects (who peeped in curiously and used the wide-open window to examine my house for possibly interesting food sources) actually suggested that a little more people would be out and about. But maybe he should have done his job better in London ... That's where this little bus originally came from. It is a souvenir from my husband's father, probably brought back from a trip in the 1960s, as a small gift ... and yes, the bus is actually in the windowsill – in a row with a Trabi and a VW Passat ;-)

Obwohl ich das Fenster weit geöffnet hatte und so der Weg in die Weite der sommerlich anmutenden Landschaft frei war, verhielt sich der Busfahrer ausgesprochen geduldig. Er blieb einfach auf seinem Platz und hielt das Lenkrad mit seinen Händen fest umschlossen. Kein Fahrgast weit und breit, niemand zu sehen – niemand, der einen Ausflug ins Grüne geplant hatte. Das Zwitschern der Vögel klang verlockend und das Summen der Insekten (die neugierig vorbeischauten und das weit geöffnete Fenster nutzten, um mein Haus nach womöglich interessanten Nahrungsquellen zu untersuchen) ließen eigentlich vermuten, dass etwas mehr Leute unterwegs sein würden. Aber vielleicht hätte er besser in London seinem Job nachgehen sollen ... Da kommt dieser kleine Bus nämlich ursprünglich her. Er ist ein Mitbringsel des Vaters meines Mannes, vermutlich in den 1960er Jahren von einer Reise mitgebracht, als kleines Geschenk ... und ja, der Bus steht tatsächlich in der Fensterbank – in einer Reihe mit einem Trabi und einem VW Passat ;-)

you can guess it, it's a Tadao Ando and here you can see the opposite direction to Hilde's photo we uploaded a few days ago ...
Ando does what he often does, he combines water with concrete and glass, and combines building parts in a special angle to each other and combines a closed building part with an open building part, which at first still one-sided with roof dissolves later in a wall and roofless row of columns (you will see it later) ...
but the hinge from the closed to the open part of the building, which intersects with the main path, is decisive.
Here he makes a round recess in the roof. which marks the entrance and creates funny light and shadow games all day long ... the circle wanders and gets with the walls and the different substrates, like materials always new aspects ... so simple and easy ... so good ...
Man kann es erraten, es ist ein Tadao Ando und hier sieht man die entgegengesetzte Richtung zu Hildes Foto, das wir vor einigen Tagen hochgeladen haben ...
Ando macht, was er oft macht, er kombiniert Wasser mit Beton und Glas, und kombiniert Gebäudeteile in einem besonderen Winkel zueinander und kombiniert einen geschlossenen Gebäudeteil mit einem offenen Gebäudeteil, das zunächst noch einseitig gefasst, mit Dach, sich nachher in eine wand- und dachlose Stützenreihe auflöst (ihr werdet es später noch sehen) ...
aber entscheidend ist das Gelenk, oder das Schanier vom geschlossenen zum offenen Gebäudeteil das sich mit dem Hauptweg kreuzt. Hier macht er eine runde Aussparung ins Dach, die den Eingang markiert und den ganzen Tag lustige Licht- und Schattenspiele erzeugt ... der Kreis wandert und bekommt mit den Wänden und den verschiedenen Untergründen, wie Materialen, immer neue Aspekte ... so schlicht und einfach ... so gut ...

12-15-15 Snook Island Sanctuary near Lake Worth Florida ... Pam, Gail S. and I were talking about how we hadn't seen the Loon this morning and low and behold he popped up right near the end of the boardwalk!
Like I said before... there is nothing "common" about a Common Loon.
When he flapped his wings after preening, I was lucky enough to catch this series of this extraordinary bird.
He was busy catching crabs and at times fighting with another bird in breeding plumage who repeatedly tried to drag him under and drive him across the water. Soon that relented and they began to tolerate each other. I think their hormones levels are high at this time.
I felt at peace as I lay down and watched these two birds go about their business. They couldn't care less about our presence as they swam closer and closer and directly to us. It was a magical moment as our faces met. Even in the moment I couldn't stop from saying "Wow". They cried out their wailing calls several times to each other. I never tire of that sound. I felt blessed to be in their presence.
Whenever life gets tough, getting out in nature and with the birds just lifts me back up again. This is especially true when I get to spend time in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my favourite person and one of my favourite birds, the Common Loon.
Altes Zeug aus dem Archiv. Wäre gerne mal hoch gefahren zum Rothenbachteich im Vogelsberg, aber derzeit werden ja alle Höhenlagen von Ausflüglern überrannt. Danke, ohne mich. Die Welt wird immer verrückter.

Would have loved to visit Rothenbach Pond again to shoot in snow and ice but all elevated areas are these days flooded by tourists parking their cars wherever they want and disobeying social distancing. Sorry folks, without me ... . Appears, this world has gone crazy quite a bit.

A great northern diver, or loon, (gavia immer) gliding across the smooth waters of Wolf Lake. This was an evening shot and the haunting calls of these birds were heard all over the lake.
Immer wieder beeindruckend ist die einzigartige Architektur des Landwasserviadukts. Mit dem letzten Zug des Tages vor Sonnenuntergang überquert Ge 6/6 II Nr. 704 das bekannte Bauwerk.
Always impressive is the unique architecture of the Landwasser viaduct. With the last train before sunset, Ge 6/6 II No. 704 crosses the famous structure.
Am 1. Juli am Geraer Wasserfall. Zu jeder Jahreszeit sieht es hier anders aus. Immer wieder schön.

Fast auf der gesamten Fahrt von Freudenstadt nach Offenburg, folgen die Züge der SWEG dem Lauf der Kinzig. Noch bis Dezember dieses Jahres verkehren die altbekannten Regioshuttle, auf der schön im Tal gelegenen Strecke. Danach sollen hier neue Triebwagen vom Typ Mireo Plus B verkehren. Wer also nochmals etwas Diesel auf der Strecke fotografieren will, sollte dies dieses Jahr tun! Noch etwas weiter entfernt davon, lag der 13. Februar 2022. An diesem Tag besuchte ich die Strecke vor allem wegen einer Sonderfahrt mit dem "Roten-Flitzer", doch auch dem Regelverkehr wurde etwas Beachtung geschenkt. Kurz vor der Schienenbus-Garnitur kam dieses Doppel aus Bwegt- und BSB-Regioshuttle durch Schiltach. Als SWE 88602 waren sie auf dem Weg nach Offenburg und durchfahren nach dem Bahnübergang den 117m langen Schiltacher Tunnel um kurz darauf im Bahnhof Schiltach einen Halt einzulegen
Ein bekanntes Motiv kurz hinter Litoměřice ist die "Kostel Nejsvětějšà Trojice" von Zahořany bei Křešice - die Kirche der heiligen Dreifaltigkeit. Von Dreifaltigkeit konnte am 09.08.22 auch im anderen Sinne die Rede sein: Klassisches Motiv, bestes Sommerwetter und eine Schönheit der tschechischen Schiene, 140 042. Die Bobina von IDS Cargo wurde 1957 gebaut und hat damit schon stolze 65 Jahre im Dienst hinter sich. Unermüdlich fährt sie heute immer noch quer durchs Land, hier mit dem 69120 von Olomouc nach Ústà n.L. Střekov.

Less than 2 minutes after this loon swallowed its pipefish I saw a nearby Red-breasted Merganser catch another pipefish. And that made me wonder if there are more pipefish in the bay following the recent prolific increase in eelgrass, Zostera maritima, a prime habitat for pipefish. Just wondering.
Op 10 juli 2021 organiseerde VIEV een rondrit per trein met de Plan U 151 van de Crew 2454 . De rondrit startte in Nijmegen en bij deze rondrit werd Budel-Schoot en Born aangedaan.
Plan U 151 is vanuit Nijmegen aangekomen in Budel-Schoot, waarbij het bijzondere was dat het treinstel tot de spoorgrens was gereden. De echte staatsgrens tussen Nederland en België ligt een paar honderd meter verder naar het westen (direct voor het Belgisch sein, wat in de verte te zien is).
Een gemiste kans was dat de trein niet de aansluiting van Nystar (tot de poort) op reed en dus van de hoofdbaan af, zodat er voor de reizigers een mogelijkheid was om in alle rust een foto te maken. Er waren immers fotostop beloofd....
Wir üben immer mal wieder an der Leine gehen. Mit Tschowanoli klappt "bei Fuss" schon ganz gut .. ;))) Er ist beim Spazieren ruhig und zieht auch nicht in alle Richtungen, im Gegensatz zu Babetli .. lach**********
We always practice to go on a leash. With Tschowanoli folds "at foot" already quite well .. :))) He is quiet when walking and also does not pull in all directions, as opposed to Babetli .. lol*******
Practicamos vez en cuando caminamos con una correa. Con Tschowanoli funciona "en pie" bastante bien .. :))) Él es tranquilo al caminar y también no tire en todas las direcciones, en contraposición a Babetli .. ;)))
Immer wenn ich im Garten sitze sehe ich die Mauersegler. Die sind so verdammt schnell. Das Foto ist vielleicht nicht perfekt, aber ich bin stolz einen erwischt zu haben. Whenever I sit in the garden, I see swifts. They're so damn fast. The photo may not be perfect, but I'm proud to have caught one.
...ist immer lohnenswert. In diesem Fall war ich in der Hinteren Sächsischen Schweiz unterwegs und schaute vom Kleinen Lorenzstein zum Teichstein.
