Lors de sa pêche d'écrevisses le plongeon imbrin s'est rapproché de la grande digue du lac de Michelbach pendant un court instant. Une belle occasion pour saisir les détails de ce beau visiteur du Nord.
During its crayfish fishing the common loon approached the dike of Lake Michelbach for a short time. A great opportunity to capture the details of this beautiful northern visitor.

That’s my thing. At least dancing – and maybe sometimes with open eyes. Singing in the choir is unfortunately still canceled, I have to do that for myself for a while, like dancing ... In addition to the motif with the sheep, there was another one in the magazine that I couldn't resist – as hair accessories the googly eyes are also good ;-)

Das ist ganz mein Ding. Zumindest Tanzen – und vielleicht manchmal mit geöffneten Augen. Singen im Chor fällt leider immer noch aus, das muss ich jetzt, auch noch eine Zeit für mich alleine tun, wie das Tanzen ... Neben dem Motiv mit den Schafen gab es noch ein weiteres in dem Magazin, dem ich nicht widerstehen konnte – als Haarschmuck machen sich die Kulleraugen doch ebenfalls gut ;-)

Immer wieder sonntags ist Henkel-Zeit. Gezogen von der schön patinierten 140 438-3 konnte DGS 59970 bei Wettelsheim fotografiert werden.
Sunday is Henkel-time. Near Wettelsheim I could take this picture of 140 438-3 hauling DGS 59970 from Wassertrüdingen to Langenfeld.
Das Ilhornstift ist immer noch eine soziale Wohnstiftung und besteht aus zwei Gebäuden:
Das Vorderhaus direkt an der Glockengießerstraße 39 . Es war vom Stifter als Armenhaus für 20 bedürftige Witwen bestimmt worden.
Einige Meter dahinter ist freistehend das Hofgebäude von 1457. Es ist teilweise in Fachwerk ausgeführt (was in der Lübecker Altstadt selten vorkommt) und hat ein ungewöhnlich steiles Satteldach.
The Ilhornstift is still a social housing foundation and consists of two buildings:
The front building directly on Glockengießerstraße 39. It had been designated by the founder as a poor house for 20 needy widows.
The courtyard building from 1457 is free-standing a few meters behind it. It is partly timber-framed (which is rare in Lübeck's old town) and has an unusually steep gable roof.

Le plus souvent les orgues sont plutôt verticaux mais ceux-ci ont la particularité d’être couchés. Sachant que, lors du refroidissement de la lave, les prismes s’orientent toujours perpendiculairement à la coulée, on suppose que la position horizontale résulte de l’effondrement qui a bousculé les strates.
Ici des couches rouges ou roses de coulées de rhyolites alternent avec des couches grises de coulées basaltiques.

🇬🇧 Most often, organ pipes are vertical, but these are unusual in that they lie horizontally. Given that when lava cools, the prisms always orient themselves perpendicular to the flow, it is assumed that the horizontal position is the result of a collapse that disrupted the strata.
Here, red or pink layers of rhyolite flows alternate with grey layers of basalt flows.
We are at the south-western tip of the Gulf of Porto.

🇩🇪 Meistens sind Orgeln eher vertikal angeordnet, diese hier haben jedoch die Besonderheit, dass sie liegend sind. Da sich die Prismen beim Abkühlen der Lava immer senkrecht zum Lavastrom ausrichten, nimmt man an, dass die horizontale Lage auf einen Einsturz zurückzuführen ist, der die Schichten durcheinandergebracht hat.
Hier wechseln sich rote oder rosafarbene Schichten aus Rhyolithströmen mit grauen Schichten aus Basaltströmen ab.

🇮🇹 Il più delle volte gli organi sono piuttosto verticali , ma questi hanno la particolarità di essere distesi. Sapendo che, durante il raffreddamento della lava, i prismi si orientano sempre perpendicolarmente alla colata, si suppone che la posizione orizzontale sia il risultato del crollo che ha sconvolto gli strati.
Qui strati rossi o rosa di colate di riolite si alternano a strati grigi di colate basaltiche.

This hefty diving bird is a winter visitor to the UK, where it can be seen around the coast or occasionally on large inland lakes.

About
The great northern diver is a large water bird, which is mostly a winter visitor to the UK. Great northern divers breed in Greenland, Iceland and North America, where they're called common loons. There have been occasional records of them breeding in Scotland, but these are very rare.
They breed on large woodland lakes or pools on tundra, with the male and female working together to build the nest on an island or shoreline.. They are excellent swimmers, using their large feet to chase after small fish under the water.
Great northern divers usually spend the winter on the sea, favouring shallow areas close to shore. They can sometimes be seen migrating along the coast singly or in small flocks.
How to identify
Divers look a little bit like cormorants, swimming with their large bodies low in the water and their long neck held upright. The great northern diver is a hefty bird, with a thick neck and a large, heavy bill. They often look as if they have a big bump on the forehead.
In their winter plumage, adults have a plain black back, neck and head, with a white throat and belly, and a darker half-collar at the base of the neck. In their summer breeding plumage, they have a dark black head and neck with a black-and-white-striped patch on the side of the neck, and a black back with a white chequered pattern.
Distribution
In winter, great northern divers can most often be found off the coast of Scotland, northern, eastern and south-west England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. They can sometimes be found on inland lakes and reservoirs.

Immer wieder gerne von mir fotografiert werden die eindrucksvollen EURO DUAL Maschinen aus dem Hause Stadler. Am 23. August 2023 begegnete mir bei Dollnstein die für die BSAS fahrende 159 209 mit einem Kesselwagenzug zu den Raffinerien im Raum Ingolstadt.
I always enjoy photographing the impressive EURO DUAL locomotives from Stadler. On 23 August 2023, I met 159 209 near Dollnstein with a tank wagon train to the refineries in the Ingolstadt area.
Leider immer noch rechte Sorgenkinder sind die Garnituren von Škoda für den München-Nürnberg-Express. Insbesondere die Wagen machen Probleme und das führt häufig zum Ausfall ganzer Züge. Am 01. Oktober 2021 begegnete mir 102 002 mit dem RE 4019 auf der Fahrt nach München HBF bei Vierkirchen.
Unfortunately, the Škoda sets for the Munich-Nuremberg Express are still a real problem child. Especially the coaches cause trouble and this often leads to the cancellation of entire trains. On 01 October 2021, I spotted 102 002 with RE 4019 on its way to Munich main station near Vierkirchen.

A Great Northern Diver at Farmoor Reservoir in Oxfordshire. The largest of the UK's divers, it has a bigger, heavier head and bill than its commoner relatives. It is largely a winter visitor to our shores although some non-breeding birds stay off northern coasts in the summer.
