Es zieht mich immer wieder zu dieser kleinen Kapelle Santa Clara hin. Die Kapelle steht auf einem Hügle inmitten von Heinersgrün und sie ist schon aus der Ferne zu sehen. Es hatte hier viel Schnee gelegen, aber bei meinem Besuch war bereits die Tauphase eingetreten und Teile der Wiese schauten durch. Heinersgrün wurde erstmalig im Jahr 1296 urkundlich erwähnt und befindet sich im Vogtlanddreieck in Sachsen, Nähe der bayerischen Grenze.
Wer die Kapelle innen besichtigen möchte, kann sich dazu einen Schlüssel ausleihen.
I keep coming back to this little chapel of Santa Clara. The chapel stands on a hill in the middle of Heinersgrün and can be seen from afar. There had been a lot of snow here, but when I visited the dew phase had already set in and parts of the meadow looked through. Heinersgrün was mentioned for the first time in 1296 and is located in the Vogtland triangle in Saxony, near the Bavarian border.
If you want to visit the inside of the chapel, you can borrow a key.

Merci à mon généreux hôte, Guy Morneau, qui m'aura à nouveau permis de vivre cette toujours belle expérience que celle d'aller à la rencontre de ce si bel oiseau en compagnie de ses petits à peine sortie du nid.

Il arrive lors des périodes de nourrissages que les deux parents y participent activement. Il n'est pas rare alors qu'ils puissent se retrouver sous l'eau au même moment laissant leur progéniture seul à la surface de l'eau. C'est dans ces moments que les petits se souciaient davantage de notre présence, nous examinant avec grande attention tout en s'approchant doucement en notre direction. Des petits moments de grâce!
N'ayez crainte ces absences ne durent que quelques secondes à la fois et ils n'oseraient le faire si ils sentaient autour un quelconque danger. C'est d'ailleurs ce qui arriva un peu plus tard lorsqu'un autre Huard adulte arriva un peu plus loin à la surface du lac. Rapidement la femelle a rapatrié ses deux rejetons allant tout de suite près des herbes bordant le bassin pendant que le mâle, pour sa part, plongeait et se retrouvait en quelques instants face à l’intrus. Quelques minutes plus tard l'étranger, mal accueilli, fit deux fois le tour du lac en le survolant et disparu. La petite famille rassurée poursuiva alors ses occupations précédemment interrompues.
Like I said before... there is nothing "common" about a Common Loon.
When he flapped his wings after preening, I was lucky enough to catch this series of this extraordinary bird.
He was busy catching crabs and at times fighting with another bird in breeding plumage who repeatedly tried to drag him under and drive him across the water. Soon that relented and they began to tolerate each other. I think their hormones levels are high at this time.
I felt at peace as I lay down and watched these two birds go about their business. They couldn't care less about our presence as they swam closer and closer and directly to us. It was a magical moment as our faces met. Even in the moment I couldn't stop from saying "Wow". They cried out their wailing calls several times to each other. I never tire of that sound. I felt blessed to be in their presence.
Whenever life gets tough, getting out in nature and with the birds just lifts me back up again. This is especially true when I get to spend time in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my favourite person and one of my favourite birds, the Common Loon.
The local fishermen on Sri Lanka look more and more often into almost empty nets. The international companies with their large factory ships are primarily to blame. They come closer and closer to the coast and steal the fish from the locals.
Die einheimischen Fischer auf Sri Lanka gucken immer öfter in fast leere Netze. Schuld sind in erster Linie die internationalen Firmen mit ihren grosse Fabrikschiffen. Sie kommen der Küste immer näher und stehlen den Einheimischen den Fisch.

Am Sonntag war ich in der Philharmonie in einem Konzert mit dem Orchester Berliner Musikfreunde e.V., gegründet 1866 und somit das älteste Amateurorchster Berlins, gemeinsam mit dem Orchester Opus76 aus Rouen. Rouen und Berlin zeigen wie die Europäische Union funktionieren kann. Das Zusammenspiel beider Orchester war sehr harmonisch und erfreute mit Ihrer Musik die Besucher/-innen.
Der große Saal hat 2250 Besucherplätze, sie waren fast ausgebucht.
Die Besucher hörten die "Leonoren Ouverture Nr 3" von Beethoven, Gustav Mahler "Totenfeier", Georges Bizet " Carmen Suite Nr.1" und von Modest Mussorski "Bilder einer Ausstellung".
In diesem Orchester ist mein Mann uns seine Bratsche Mitglied.
Nur so kann und muss Europa in der globalen Welt bestehen.

The first photos with my new compact little camera. It is small and fits in every coat pocket, it is now always with you.
On Sunday I was in the Philharmonie in a concert with the Berliner Musikfreunde e.V. orchestra, founded in 1866 and thus the oldest amateur orchestra in Berlin, together with the orcheseter Opus76 from Rouen. Rouen and Berlin show how the European Union can function. The interaction of both orchestras was very harmonious and delighted the visitors with their music.
The big hall has 2250 seats, they were almost fully booked.
The visitors listened to the "Leonoren Ouverture Nr 3" by Beethoven, Gustav Mahler "Totenfeier", Georges Bizet " Carmen Suite Nr.1" and by Modest Mussorski "Bilder einer Ausstellung".

Es hängt immer vom Ort ab, was man fotografieren kann. Bei mir im Hessischen Ried findet man z.B. wegen der vielen Entwässerungsgräben leicht Eisvögel, die gemeinhin ja als selten gelten. Im Gegensatz dazu habe ich hier in den letzten fünf Jahren nur einmal einen Dompfaff und seit über 20 Jahren nicht ein einziges Blaukehlchen gesehen, die angeblich ebenfalls im Schilf der Gräben vorkommen sollen. Tja...
Ausgewählt habe ich deshalb ein Foto aus meiner Eisvogelbildersammlung damit nach zuletzt viel grau und braun farblich wieder etwas Abwechslung in meinen fotostream kommt. Aber fragt mich nicht, was der kleine Kerl mit der weißen Feder wollte. Ich weiß es nicht. 😇
What you can photograph always depends on the location. Here in the Hessian Ried, for example, it’s easy to spot kingfishers – which are generally considered rare – thanks to the many drainage ditches. In contrast, I’ve only seen a bullfinch once here in the last five years, and haven’t spotted a single bluethroat in over 20 years, even though they’re supposed to be found in the reeds along the ditches as well. Well...
Hence today I’ve chosen a photo from my collection of kingfisher pictures so that, after a lot of grey and brown recently, there’s a bit of variety in my photo stream again. However, don't ask me what the little guy intended with the white feather. I don't know it. 😇

Wir waren mit dem Auto unterwegs als ich die Sonnenstrahlen aus den Wolken so durchbrechen sah, was immer einen besonderen Reiz auf mich ausübt. Zum Glück saß nicht ich am Steuer, hatte meine Kamera griffbereit und die Frontscheibe war auch halbwegs sauber. 😉 Um den Effekt noch besser zur Geltung zu bringen, habe ich in der Nachbearbeitung an ein paar Schrauben gedreht …

… von Rottweil bis Stuttgart, und damit der traditionellen Altstrecke folgend, war dieser RE aus Singen (Hohentwiel) unterwegs. Wegen Bauarbeiten war die Gäubahn nördlich von Horb gesperrt. Und man scheute keine Mühen, die Direktverbindung trotzdem zu ermöglichen. Mit Dieselvorspann zwischen Tübingen und Horb, und wegen der Tunnels mit n-Wagen anstatt der planmäßigen Doppelstocker. Zwei 218 (die 456 und die 495) waren eigens von Ulm dafür abkommandiert. Ein wenig Hoffen und Bangen war noch angesagt, ob er wohl in Rottenburg über das passende Gleis 2 fahren würde. Er tat es ;-)
