In 1997 I started what was supposed to be a fairly simple project surveying bird usage of the Nanaimo River Estuary. Little did I know that this project would take almost 10 years to conduct the surveys, write the report, and get it published. I also never dreamed that I would end up nearly getting myself killed by angry poachers in the process.
While I was away doing field work this summer, it finally got published thanks to Neil Dawe's persistence, and the Nature Trust of BC's generosity. 127 pages of really boring bird stats. It's not the novel I imagined I might write someday back when I was 20 years old, but at least I survived to see it published.
Silly T-Munky - the spoon goes the other way! Our ice cream was sooooo good and, no, Arnold didn't jump in...that's cause Timmy is holding him back!
Here are the photos of Addison's delivery day. Most of them were taken by MY HUSBAND (Chris) for obvious reasons.
I don't like these socks. I guess it is the pattern with the colors. Anyway, they are DONE!

Finally got myself a Detolf. Now I just need to get all my favourite girls to fill it. My dad needs to bring the rest of my figures here...
K: The hottest guy of the day, and his boyfriend, Sacha Baron Cohen. I was guessing that they were visiting from Spain, they kept looking at me and my friends. Wish I'd ran into them later. That guy is very cute. 8.
X: Ooooook, he looked much better from the street. Then again, the sun was in my eyes and I had plenty of other things to look at down there. 3...
For as long as this bike has been here, I have been wanting to get the signplate made for it. Well, I promised myself that I would get that handled this week. Bought the material online and tit got here today, so tonight it got cut to fit and installed.... FINALLY!
The "finally" is for me. For some reason getting a clear shot of mourning dove has been tough. I was thrilled to be able to capture one with some of the great coloring. Mourning Doves were given their name because of their sad song/calls. I used to think it was just because the look kind of mournful but this one actually looks kind of happy!
My little sister just graduated high school and she couldn't be happier to finally leave and move on to bigger and better things at WOLBI next year. We had a lot of fun decorating her cap together and she wanted to show it off to everyone. I tried to capture her excitement of finishing her high school career along with her excitement and pride in making such a fun cap.
After crap summer of 2 years I finally got a chance to continue with working on the wood yacht... Almost ready for a light sanding and lick of paint!
I got to spend my Saturday afternoon and evening with this lovely couple at the Meadows Center in San Marcos. Donna and Jackson's wedding took me back to one of my old college haunts and brought back a lot of great memories. I hope they have as many special memories from their wedding day at the Meadows Center as I did from my days in the same location. Congratulations and cheers Donna and Jackson! After 25 years of having friends in common, and having been in the same places at the same time, Katja and I actually MEET each other for the first time.

Here is a shot from our trip to Riga in Novemeber 2011 that I did not upload then.
There was a heavy fog over the river as we got to Riga so we could not even see the other side clearly.
