All spring, summer and fall I have wanted to capture turtles out of the water on rocks, sunning themselves. Instead, I have only succeeded in shooting turtle heads sticking out of the water and one turtle that I encountered on the rocky path several feet from the pond. None of those were the shot I wanted though. Finally, yesterday, I saw two small turtles on old concrete stumps (left from a former bridge) under the railroad bridge over the creek. I had seen turtles there before but they always saw me first and hit the water before I could get them in focus. This time, inspite of the appearance of vigilance on the part of the turtle on the right, I was able to snap off a few shots.
Then I eased onto the bridge, being my stealthiest self, and got down on hands and knees to get some shots from between the railroad ties, directly above the little turtles. I was sure they would hear my shutter and scoot but they never did. However, the best surprise was yet to come...
Finally plucked up the courage to snip my Jake doll's hair. Think it looks a lot better! I'd have liked a funky choppy style but I'm not that good yet...besides, I think neat suits his personality :)
Meanwhile Connor is wearing the liv wig I trimmed short. I wasn't keen on how bouffant it was so the hat will with any luck flatten it down a bit.
I've also realised that most of my dolls wear their wigs parted on their left hand side...!

I finally stopped a ball on a green in regulation. I should have just stopped and gone to the bar at this point.
#209 Illegal and lots of fun. I did this while waiting to start a mural at the International Women's day Festival in Buenos Aires. People gathered around while I did it which got me nervous about a guard noticing what I was doing. But it was fine- I didn't get caught...
...the cycling year ends where it started on 01.01.2023 and it feels very good that way.
"The Mission" took me on 140 rides totalling 10,700km and 96,000m climbing but much more memorable it took me into 140 stories to remember - nice experience.

Loads of these parasitised aphid "mummies" around in leaf-litter at the moment.
This is the result of infestation by a tiny parasitic wasp. The wasp injects an egg into the aphid, the egg hatches and the larva develops by feeding on the internal organs of the aphid. The aphid finally succumbs, the wasp larva pupates and when the adult wasp has fully developed, it chews a hole and emerges. Here it's emerged through the aphid's rear end, leaving just an empty "shell".

I finally got Lenny back together, i have been having a little go here and there, but always re doing everything, made her a lot of work.
I am finally happy with her, although she seems to have the hump with me lol, probably being in bits for about a year poor thing.
So on my journey to find a cutting tool in which I can cut paper at school and not need x-acto knives disguised as pens, I managed to think far back and I remember seeing a picture that Ilan Garibi posted with an "Origami Travelers Kit" and he had one of these cutters. I then remembered that Miyabi carried one for 1,95 euro but I later found one for 1 euro less on the BOS website.
When I told them they couldn't come to the hockey game they got mad and ran away. They've only just come back. Longest pout in recorded history, y'all.
I gave them a stern talking-to, about not running off without leaving a note, but then I forgave them. How could I not?
I am so happy the work week is almost over! After work I just need to pack for Chicago, host a meeting for our trip to Charleston, SC (2 wks) and maybe stop by a party later... should be a busy and somewhat sober night... hopefully, cause I have to get up early tomorrow.

I was finally able to convince my friend to let me have one of his many Michael Jackson autographed items for my birthday. He decided to give me this signed Thriller LP to celebrate the release of the biggest selling album of all time and also the year of my birth :)
PS: Something tells me he regrets it now...
After months of trip planning and Flickring, I was SO EXCITED to finally experience the Columbia River Gorge! Being Memorial Day weekend, the road was mobbed around Multnomah (tourist trap!), so in typical Lindsay & Lauren fashion, we foregoed the popular/overrated falls and headed to the Oneonta Trail instead. It was a steady uphill hike that seemed to last forever (but probably just because I was far too excited just to get to the falls).
After running around the falls with my tripod and taking pictures from like 10 different spots, I crossed over the water and sat right here in utter contentment (though unfortunately bound by time constraints). I literally could have spent the entire day here taking pictures or reading or writing, or staring at the amazingness all around me. I just love being in the middle of it all, with the sound of rushing water beneath (or above) you, and the feel of cool mist lightly spraying your skin... ahh, so gorge(ou)s :) Why doesn't this exist anywhere near NYC?!
She's very mischievous today, but she doesn't like me to take her photo. As soon I pick up the camera, she hide or run upstairs - I finally got this, single photo of her today at least ;)
Lugs for Bruce's track frame are finally in. Hot off the UPS truck - 5 mins ago.
Work starts tomorrow.
