In bars in spain, you ash your cigarettes and throw your trash on the ground. And you don't tip. Its amazing.
Just finished up reading my 1310 pages of material for my certification exam. You'd think I'd be more excited...
To be honest, once I actually reached the summit, I thought "I've seen this so many times before in the pictures of others, that as wonderful as it is to finally be up here in person, it's sort-of anti-climactic!" All the emotion was spent by time I reached the summit. Plus, I found myself almost gasping for breath (without the accompanying physical exertion) just before signing the register – almost like stridor coming on, but which never happened – thankfully!!. There were only 3 other people on the top when I arrived, which was nice that it was uncrowded, but there was really no one with whom to share the moment in person. My cell phone could get a signal from the top, but that signal somehow wasn't able to translate into a connected call ringing through and being answered on the other end whenever I tried to dial someone. Fortunately, I had a two-way radio (Cynthia had the other one) and I was able to share the experience with her for the short time I was on top. I got the guy from the climbing couple in one of the next pictures to take my "summit shot".
Those clever whisky jacks have finally figured this area out. Its the first we've seen of them up here. They know a good thing.
