After a long, scathing drought in the Kruger National Park, it finally rained and rained for several days on end. When the sun broke through, the sight of the flowing river was heartwarming.
Lifer! After five years of chasing one of these down. Yesterday was the day to get my elusive Male Golden-winged Warbler. It was an epic day, friends, birds and great weather. Delaware State Forest, Pike County PA.
For years I have tried to get a really good photo of a Black-capped Chickadee. These little guys are so quick. I was fortunate to catch one in flight.
An somehow classic, silhouetted view towards the staircase of one of the new office buildings at Munich Werksviertel at closing time. I was a little lucky with the person passing by as the lights in the staircase went off every few minutes :)
I like the capture due to its clear lines and simplicity. I hope you like it, too :)

Hello from Buddy.. (and Ginger and us!) Finally in our new house… taken a long time to get here and unfortunately not without its problems! Many problems! Blue Ringtail Damselfly (Austrolestes annulosus)
The first Blue I have captured this season. And again the shot was taken at 'arms length' above my head. It had paused very briefly a lot lower down but not long enough to get a shot.

I've shot these turkey vultures soaring in the deep blue sky before, and somehow can't get sharp focus - may be limitations of the Nikon system. In any case, I finally got a decent focus! At Sitka Sedge at the Oregon coast.
I finally finished planting my tiny flower garden and I take great delight in just sitting and looking at it!! Makes me happy. I haven't done any shooting lately so it felt really good to get out my Helios!

This was my 3rd sunrise hike up this particular mountain, attempting to get some nice photos as the sun comes up. My first 2 attempts were so cloudy I never got to see the sun. Finally on my 3rd try, I got to witness a great sunrise.
A followup on yesterday's photo. This was the third attempt by this youngster to down it (kept dropping it), and this time, it was successful!
After several tries over the years I was finally able to score a South Shore freight going down 11th with a nice train in beautiful evening light. This was starting to become a nail biter as you can see from the shadows moving in after a blue sky day all day. Some clouds from the west would soon move in to prematurely sunset the scene, but the train ran west just in time to make good use of some of the last full sun. Michigan City, IN 9/14/19

I am unsure of the species and unfortunately this image doesn't show much of the identifying features.
But, although I see them regularly in the garden, this is the first shot I have of one. The first time I have had one stay in the one place for more than a quarter of a millisecond.
Best seen on black (by pressing L) to have a larger view!
