The Wooden Hulled, Waste Oil / Diesel Fired, Triple Expansion Steam Engined Towboat/Tugboat SS MASTER was designed and launched in 1922 by Arthur Moscrop's Shipyard on the False Creek shore in what is now the scenic location of Vancouver's Aquatic Center. The Master's Steam Engine was purchased from Surplus Inventory to the Royal Navy Minsweeper building program of World War 1. Maintained by the efforts of the SS MASTER SOCIETY.

Military Class 530C fire truck. Developed in 1972 to provide fire protection at Army Airfields worldwide. Built by Engineered Devices and American Air Filter on the military M45A2, 6x6, 2 1/2 ton chassis. Truck was equipped with a 750 gpm pump, carried 400 gals of water and 40 gals of foam. Rigs were used by the Army, USMC and Navy.
The 440 hp engine. The opening mechanism is quite tricky, but luckily I found an awesome solution which is inspired by Sven Bode's creation.
On January 23 Mountain View Fire Department responded to a reported fire in a commercial property on San Antonio Road. With fire in the attic space already a second alarm was called. Assisted by units from Palo Alto Fire the fire was quickly controlled. Santa Clara County Fire also assisted with units to back fill Mountain View Fire Stations.

In June 2011 Santa Clara County Fire Department held "Wildland 2011", a County wide training exercise. On each day of training fire crews from the 11 fire departments in the county were assigned to strike teams and circulated around four different exercise locations around the Los Gatos hills.
Part of Task Force 2, County Engine 314 is a 2009 Type III Wildland Urban Interface unit built by Placer Fire Equipment on an International Navistar 7400 4x4 chassis with 4 door cab .

The San Francisco Fire Department lost two of its members from Engine Company 26, who were both critically injured during an explosion while bravely fighting a house fire in the Diamond Heights neighborhood on June 2, 2011. Both died at the hospital as a result of their injuries after all rescussitative measures were taken by the Emergency Trauma staff at San Francisco General Hospital.
Days later firefighters from around California and around the country gathered to pay their respects during a funeral service. In this sequence we see some of the equipment from the North Bay Area and points further north.
