I was recently hired by the German magazine Küche&Co, which features luxurious high-end kitchens, to photograph one of their projects in Leonberg, Germany.
Their so-called Kitchen Stories feature the local salesman and his client, embedded into an architectural photography series.

IT WAS A FUN APRIL 1ST at the SAINT STUPID DAY'S PARADE in SAN FRANCISCO. There is no other event in the world where folks gather to HAVE FUN and poke fun at the embedded horrid capitalist exploitation of the world.
Everyone came in costume...ADDA came as a REPUBLICAN BURNING IN HELL (which we all know in our deepest of hearts is where all REPUBLICANS and RIGHT WING A-0's will end up) ! i shouted MERRY CHRISTMAS to all the business people in the Financial District who stopped and stared in utter confusion.
Everyone gathered at the EMBARCADERO then proceeded to the WORKERS STATUE. There in honor of CLOWNS WITHOUT BOARDERS they put a 'red clown nose' on one of the statues! ADDA DADA got the crowd cheering 'HERO' for the guy who put the nose on the statue.
then to the PACIFIC STOCK EXCHANGE for the wonderful spoof...SOCK EXCHANGE...everyone exchanged socks & then tossed them in the air! One of ADDA DADA's Christmas SANTAs socks were found and declared a SAINT STUPID HOLY RELIC! (you so know i loved that)
Onward we went to the BANKER's HEART...the big, black marble rock in front of BANK OF AMERICA...where everyone tossed their loose pennies at the banker's black greedy heart! (This is just like the muslims in Mecca who toss rocks at the black stone which represents the devil..)
There was tons of good fun, great signs, good vibes, political statements, and incredible costumes
Good luck that the videos go on JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE tonight

We celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied and multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.
We want to thank you for your interest in our work and thanks for visiting our work on Flickr, we do appreciate you and the contributions you make in furthering our interest in photography and on social media in general.

I got this board because I needed a development platform for one of my microcontrollers. At the same time, I ordered an Atmel AVR ISP MkII programmer, which I wanted to use because it is a native USB device and is a little easier to use on the Mac. Of course, it turns out that the programmer has a different type of ISP connector than this board was expecting.
So, this is a Olimex development board for Atmel AVR 20-pin microcontrollers, modified it to accept input from the AVR ISP MkII, which has a six-pin output connector. The header that I added is at the bottom of the board.
Read more about getting started programming the AVR on the Mac here.
Samantha Jade: X Factor 2012 sensation warms up Bondi Beach, Sydney crowd...
It was another beautiful day at Bondi Beach, with today's activities including Samantha Jade performing live to a crowd of hundreds.
Many beachgoers had come to pick up some free ChapStick goodies, as well as to soak up the sun, while the surf was small but able to be caught by experienced surfers and bodysurfers.
The first female winner of the X Factor Australia was very happy to be over from Perth and commented on how nice Bondi Beach was.
Ms Jade sounded and looked great was as she performed UFO, Breakeven, Wide Awake and Free Fallin', as well as recordings of her standout performance and number #1 iTunes song, Heartless and her winning single, What You've Done To Me.
The talented performer told Music News Australia she is enjoying touring and knows that her loyal fans are always looking forward to her latest releases.
Chapstick Australia promotions stuff encouraged onlookers to "like" the Chapstick Australia Facebook page, and in return got Chapstick goodies such as blow-ups and the Chapstick - stick, of course.
Well done on everyone involved in today's success, and bring on more top weather and entertainment like Bondi Beach enjoyed today.

The Eternal Flame was dedicated along the Hawai'i State Capital Mall on Beretania Street, between Punchbowl and Richard Streets, on October 28, 1972. The memorial, dedicated to the men and women of the Hawai'i who served in the United States Armed Forces, was designed by sculptor Bumpei Akaji along with landscape architect Frank Haines. It features an abstract, vertical, free-standing work, with bronze and copper curvilinear planes, topped with a gas-fed burning flame, atop a 40-foot wide circular concrete base embedded and divided into pie-shaped parts, with steps and ramps. Commissioned by the Pacific War Memorial Commission and funded by the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts at an estimated cost of $125,000, The Eternal Flame replaced an earlier memorial, which was moved to Keehi Lagoon.
In need of a more prominent local presence, the organization which supports the architecture profession in the State, AIA California (AIACA), moved their offices to a Midtown building which was once occupied by architect Ralph Vitiello’s practice. Originally built in the 1930’s, the existing brick building has tremendous character with concrete floors and exposed wood trusses.
As each client is unique in what they do and how they work, we embedded ourselves in AIACA’s work environment to understand how their new space needed to function and feel. Through a series of benchmarking tours, ideation charrettes and sketch sessions we designed a space tailored to their organizational needs which includes neighborhoods and spaces supportive of different work modes, as well as areas encouraging collaboration. A variety of conference spaces also allow flexibility for meetings, events and focused work when necessary.
On the exterior an entry portal addresses the street and creates a prominent entrance into the new space. Other features include a curated library where books featuring California architects and designers will be displayed. A “big table” serves as the staff break area and also a pre-function space for events and AIA Executive Committee meetings. This public side can be closed off through a series of full height sliding doors, providing privacy for the staff offices.
This new space better serves the AIACA as they continue their mission for California architects.
The Living Root bridge, a bridge I always wanted to see. Just three in Cherrapunjee, this I believe is the hardest to reach. After almost a treck of 2 hrs it was a pleasure to be just around. The treck was too trecherous. It was vertically down some 2 1/2 kms. Stone laiden route, slippery with last night's rain, humid and the moss addeded to our challenge. Stopping to catch your breath was another story as the mosquitoes surround you for a field day. They had a feast. And needles to say, the scenery around was awesome. I wish I had taken more pictures. But after falling down thrice, I decided to keep my cam safe inside the bag. Yup, it was a waste. But now more about the bridge-----
The lower reaches of the southern slopes of Khasi and Jaintia hills are humid and warm and are streaked by many swift flowing rivers and mountain streams. A species of Indian Rubber tree - botanical name: Ficus elastica - thrives and flourishes alongside these streams and rivers. This tree can comfortably perch itself on huge boulders along side the riverbanks or in the middle of rivers and send its roots down to the riverbed. Thus, they have adapted themselves very well to high soil erosion caused by these fast flowing rivers and streams that come down about 3000 feet along precipitous slopes. These trees shoot out many secondary roots from their trunks.
The early war-Khasis, had noticed these qualities of this tree and had adapted it to serve their need for bridges to cross rivers and streams. In order to direct the roots in the desired direction, betel nut tree trunks, sliced half in the middle for their entire length, are hollowed out and are positioned according to the requirement of the bridge. The thin and long tender roots are then passed through these hollowed out betel nut tree trunks. The roots start growing towards the directed end. When they reach the other end of the stream or river, they are allowed to take root in the soil. These bridges usually have base spans numbering more than two. There are also two protective railing spans. Stones are used to fill any gaps in the base spans and over time they get embedded in the floor of the root bridge. Some of these bridges have roots brought down from the tree branches joining the middle of the bridge as support spans. Some of these root bridges are made by entwining the roots of two trees planted on opposite banks or in the middle of the river on huge boulders.

~ Went back and visited Suzie's old school and home in Whitewater this afternoon. She went to Roseman on the UW-Whitewater campus from Kindergarten to 8th grade.
That might seem odd, and I'm not sure of details, but there was a regular, classic K-8 school embedded on the Whitewater campus for teaching purposes. That ended with my wife's 8th grade class in 1970 or so.
You can see the peak of her old house poking up over the roofline towards the left top. She told me those are the windows of her parent's bedroom. Her childhood memories are full of this place - learning to ride her bike around these campus buildings, sneaking over to go sledding at Starin Park, and breaking her arm falling from the bleachers in the field (track and football) that used to be near here, across the street from her house, right in the middle of campus.

Coventry city centre 2021.
Newly planted areas have strange WW2 bomb looking objects in them (I think they might be lighting). I find the shape at odds with the modern history of Coventry.
On the night of 14 November 1940, 515 German planes set out to destroy the major manufacturing city of Coventry, and the results were devastating.
Four thousand homes, three quarters of city-centre buildings and two-thirds of industrial buildings were destroyed; 568 civilians were killed. The psychological reaction was just as stark: hysteria, panicking, acute aphasia, looting. ‘The city [was] suffering from a collective nervous breakdown’.
The Germans had not only intended the raid as a strategic one but as a deliberately psychological one, too, designed to break the will of the British people. The bombing was considered such a triumph that the Germans coined the word koventrieren – ‘to coventrate’, to devastate by aerial force.
An estimated 568 people were killed in the raid (the exact figure was never precisely confirmed), with another 863 badly injured and 393 sustaining lesser injuries.
Today the City of Coventry is twinned with the German City of Dresden.
