Wellington has some very cool buildings. This one just begs to be viewed as a part of its surroundings rather than an isolated object.

This bluff and the range in which is embedded was a very significant landscape to the local First Nations. Not only were there story and nomenclature that were passed through generations of the Baiyambora clan of Kabi Kabi nation, but the area was regularly occupied and tool making was a significant activity. The tools enabled their sustenance but also were traded during intra- and inter-tribal gatherings for bunya feasts and the coastal pippi harvest.
Geologically, the rock is tuff, fused volcanic ash. There are two major overlying deposits and their declination suggests that the ash derived from eruptions somewhere to the northeast. The ash was deposited in a valley, but through erosive processes the bounding ranges/valley sides have been removed and the tuff deposit now stands as an inselberg in the landscape. Thus the landscape has been inverted, where the valley was is now this elevated range of tuff (underlain by porphyry) whilst the valleys of the Mary River to the east and Coonoon Gibber Creek to the west are now the lower landscape.
When surveyors first came to map the area, this feature was called Kenilworth Bluff on their maps, because it was seen from Imbil Homestead and the Bluff was in the direction of Kenilworth Homestead, though still on Imbil run. However in recent times, Kenilworth Bluff has been officially defined as the line of bluffs at the Kenilworth end of the inselberg/range. And while long-term locals often refer to this bluff as Brooloo Bluff it is best known as "Duwirri".

Leake Street Tunnel is one of London’s coolest street art spots. Tucked away underneath Waterloo station, it’s an ever-changing canvas of colourful murals.
Leake Street graffiti tunnel is one of London’s not-so-hidden gems. This 300 metre tunnel is the city’s largest legal wall and has been a bastion of London’s street art scene since 2008.
Leake Street Tunnel wasn’t always a legal wall. Before 2008 it was just a dank and grimy tunnel squirreled beneath Kings Cross Station.
That all changed when British street art superstar Banksy (yes, the Banksy) decided to hold a street art festival called Cans Festival down in the tunnel.
Banksy invited the biggest and brightest names on the international street art scene to come down and put up a piece of work in the tunnel. And that was it – Leake Street was no longer dank and grimy, but instead a bold, colourful and cool place where artists could showcase their work.
Since then, Leake Street graffiti tunnel has been flying the flag for the London street art scene. The fact that this is a legal wall means that artists can work in peace and that no two visits are ever the same.
Leake Street Tunnel is a short walk away from Waterloo Station. It takes about five minutes to walk it from the station via York Road.

It was still morning, half an hour after sunrise. My gaze was directed southwest. In the background, the Roggenflueh rises just above the fog, resembling a submarine emerging from the depths. To the middle right, you can see Oberberg. A fantastic view that stays within my soul.

This photograph captures a small religious shrine embedded into the wall of a narrow alley in Palermo, Italy. The shrine is housed in a rectangular structure with a beige frame, topped by a small cross and adorned with a golden star-shaped wire decoration. Inside, a figurine of the Virgin Mary or a saint is visible, protected by a black metal grate. The shrine is surrounded by a vibrant display of artificial flowers in various colors, including reds, yellows, whites, and greens, which provide a stark contrast to the aged and weathered appearance of the surrounding wall.
The wall itself tells a story of time and decay. Its surface is marked by cracks, patches, and peeling plaster, revealing layers of underlying brickwork and concrete. These textures add a sense of authenticity and history to the scene, characteristic of many older Mediterranean urban environments. The juxtaposition of the shrine's decorative beauty with the rough, imperfect wall creates a compelling visual contrast.
To the right of the shrine, a rusted metal roller door is visible, adding another layer of urban character to the image. The door, with its faded paint and scratches, suggests an old storefront or storage space, now seemingly abandoned or seldom used. This element enhances the feeling of quietness and introspection in the alleyway, inviting passersby to pause and reflect on the significance of the shrine amidst the unassuming setting.
At ground level, small patches of greenery emerge from cracks in the pavement, signaling nature's persistence in an otherwise urban landscape. These plants, along with the weathered textures and the delicate adornments of the shrine, create a harmonious blend of humanity, spirituality, and nature. The photograph encapsulates the charm and timelessness of Palermo’s streets, where sacred traditions coexist with the organic wear of everyday life.

Well, a theme I have used today is about paths. Some may be less travelled and others heavily travelled. It just so happens amongst the next photos I had to upload, there seemed to be many paths.
Well, this is obviously a wide path and despite its looks, a quite fascinating one. It happens to be Burnett Lane in the city centre of Brisbane. It runs parallel to the Queen Street Mall between Albert and George Streets, behind shops fronting Queen and Adelaide Street. If you walk up it, you will find it is filled with interesting art, Blue Ninja cut outs, tiny doors (about 12 inches high and a feature round town), signs, murals, paste ups and you guessed it, graffiti. So if you are in Brisbane, take your camera. It even has a coffee shop embedded in the wall where the man is standing....he is not relieving himself in public!
