A superb lp mini break with Quornflake, Mart and Phill in Llanberis. The slate quarry there is insanely massive with far too much to shoot in one evening. The day was spent reccying all the nooks and crannies which in itself was a mammoth task. When night fell we headed to our first spot and got cracking.
It was was great to get out with you all chaps and quality to finally meet Mart.
I think we will return here as this really doesn't do the location any justice and there is so much left to shoot including the most insane but hard to access spot I've ever seen. Here's to next time.

Pholiota squarrosa, commonly known as the shaggy scalycap, the shaggy Pholiota, or the scaly Pholiota, is a species of mushroom in the family Strophariaceae. Common in North America and Europe, it is often an opportunistic parasite, and has a wide range of hosts among deciduous trees, although it can also infect conifers. It can also live as a saprobe, deriving nutrients from decomposing wood. The mushroom is typically found growing in clusters at the base of trees and stumps. Both the cap and the stem are covered in small, pointed scales that are pointed downward and backward. The crowded gills are yellowish, then later rust-brown. The mushroom has an odor that, depending on the author, has been described as resembling garlic, lemon, radish, onion, or skunk. It has a strong taste, resembling radishes. Once thought to be edible, it is now considered and known to be poisonous, especially if consumed in combination with alcohol. The mushroom contains unique chemicals thought to help it infect plants by neutralizing defensive responses employed by them. The very similar P. squarrosoides differs in having a paler cap that is sticky between the scales, and smaller spores.

L'accumulo finale della nevicata, è di 40 cm a 601 m.s.l.m.
Qui siamo al cimitero di torreglia - 100 m.s.l.m. come potete ben notare neve a quasi tutti gli effetti, ma troppo paciugosa:

This is the base of the same tree I uploaded yesterday and it is not photoshopped.
The old headstone on the right is partially embedded in the large tree trunk. The tree must have grown slowly swallowing the stone.

The colour was created using a lens filter adjustment, with a 'contrast negate' blend (whatever that is).

In 1989 testete die DB Doppelstockwagen der Niederländischen Eisenbahnen (NS) im Planbetrieb. Zunächst im S-Bahn-Verkehr zwischen München und Geltendorf und im letzten Wochenende ihres Auftritts fuhren sie einige Eilzüge zwischen München und Augsburg.
In 1989 werden door de DB dubbeldeksrijtuigen van de NS beproefd in de normale dienst. Eerst in de S-Bahn dienst tussen München en Geltendorf en in het laatste weekeinde van hun optreden in Duitsland reden ze enkele Eilzüge tussen München en Augsburg.
In 1989, the DB tested Dutch Railways (NS) double-decker cars in planned operation. First in the S-Bahn service between Munich and Geltendorf and in the last weekend of their appearance they drove a few express trains between Munich and Augsburg.

A huge slab of ice with a few leaves embedded in it slid off my roof. It landed vertically in a snowbank so that sunlight backlit the leaves beautifully.
