A shrouded apartment building nearing its completion in Katendrecht, on the part of the quarter where once the Hanno container terminal was located.
I was by the way very pleasantly surprised here by the resolving power of the old Tamron zoom lens, once ('90s) designed for analog dSLR's.

A superb lp mini break with Quornflake, Mart and Phill in Llanberis. The slate quarry there is insanely massive with far too much to shoot in one evening. The day was spent reccying all the nooks and crannies which in itself was a mammoth task. When night fell we headed to our first spot and got cracking.
It was was great to get out with you all chaps and quality to finally meet Mart.
I think we will return here as this really doesn't do the location any justice and there is so much left to shoot including the most insane but hard to access spot I've ever seen. Here's to next time.
Usual lens capped double exposure from portrait outside the tunnel to Phill within. Thanks to Mart and Phil for their help in realising this one.

These three, which are all of driftwood washed up on the beaches, are the first in a series of some of the stuff that I love to look at in detail, as I wander around the coastal habitats I visit near home. As I can't go there just now, I've been trawling my archives, and (I hope) they are all images that I haven't posted before.

De Westerschelde die toegang geeft tot de haven van Antwerpen is voor de scheepvaart een niet gemakkelijk te bevaren route. Ter plaatse goed bekende loodsen helpen de bemanning bij het bevaren van deze zeearm met zijn verraderlijke zandbanken. De loodsboot rechts heeft net de loods opgepikt van de chemicaliën tanker "Nordic Inge"
The Western Scheldt, which gives access to the port of Antwerp, is not an easy route for shipping. Well-known pilots on site help the crew navigate this estuary with its treacherous sandbanks. The pilot boat on the right just picked up the pilot from the chemical tanker "Nordic Inge"
Die Westerschelde, die den Zugang zum Hafen von Antwerpen ermöglicht, ist keine einfache Schifffahrtsroute. Vor Ort gut bekannte Lotsen helfen der Besatzung bei der Navigation durch diese Mündung mit ihren tückischen Sandbänken. Das Lotsenboot rechts hat den Lots gerade vom Chemietanker "Nordic Inge" abgeholt.
L'Escaut occidental, qui donne accès au port d'Anvers, n'est pas une voie de navigation facile. Des pilotes bien connus sur place aident l'équipage à naviguer dans cet estuaire avec ses bancs de sable dangereux. Le bateau pilote sur la droite vient de prendre le pilote du pétrolier "Nordic Inge"
El Escalda Occidental, que da acceso al puerto de Amberes, no es una ruta de navegación fácil. Conocidos pilotos en el lugar ayudan a la tripulación a navegar por este estuario con sus peligrosos bancos de arena. El barco piloto a la derecha acaba de llevar al piloto del petrolero "Nordic Inge"

Pholiota squarrosa, commonly known as the shaggy scalycap, the shaggy Pholiota, or the scaly Pholiota, is a species of mushroom in the family Strophariaceae. Common in North America and Europe, it is often an opportunistic parasite, and has a wide range of hosts among deciduous trees, although it can also infect conifers. It can also live as a saprobe, deriving nutrients from decomposing wood. The mushroom is typically found growing in clusters at the base of trees and stumps. Both the cap and the stem are covered in small, pointed scales that are pointed downward and backward. The crowded gills are yellowish, then later rust-brown. The mushroom has an odor that, depending on the author, has been described as resembling garlic, lemon, radish, onion, or skunk. It has a strong taste, resembling radishes. Once thought to be edible, it is now considered and known to be poisonous, especially if consumed in combination with alcohol. The mushroom contains unique chemicals thought to help it infect plants by neutralizing defensive responses employed by them. The very similar P. squarrosoides differs in having a paler cap that is sticky between the scales, and smaller spores.

Another non-starter from today's Macro Mondays' #contained theme
A slice of lemon, with a pip happily buried and looking very snug.
The colour was created using a lens filter adjustment, with a 'contrast negate' blend (whatever that is).
Wellington has some very cool buildings. This one just begs to be viewed as a part of its surroundings rather than an isolated object.
Los bulbos encapsulados en cera se desarrollaron en Europa como plantas decorativas de fácil cultivo que se pueden colocar prácticamente en cualquier lugar y florecen en 4 a 6 semanas. El bulbo contiene toda la energÃa necesaria para producir flores, y la capa de cera conserva su humedad, por lo que no requiere tierra, agua ni mucha luz. Un alambre en espiral en la base del bulbo evita que la planta se vuelque.
Bulbs encased in wax were developed in Europe as decorative, easy-to-grow accents which can be placed just above anywhere and will produce flowers in 4 to 6 weeks. The bulb has all the energy needed to produce flowers, and the wax coating conserves the bulb's moisture so no soil, no water, and little light is needed. A coil wire embedded at the base of the bulb keeps the plant from tipping.
