My parents driveway is just on the left of this corner. This is where I grew up. I think about the countless times I have driven or walked around this corner. And the many times I have photographed it. Life is a wonderful journey--we must all find our own way.
A candid, low-light photograph captures a group of approximately ten Mro (Murong) children gathered around a small, crackling campfire in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, Bangladesh. The scene takes place at dusk or night, illuminated primarily by the fire's warm, orange glow, which casts dramatic shadows and highlights their faces.
The children, ranging in age from toddlers to pre-teens, are seated or huddled close to the fire on the bare, dusty ground near the prominent roots of a large, dark tree on the left. The impressive and very well kept lighthouse on Eilean Musdile, Just off the South end of the Isle of Lismore in the Sound of Mull, I've shot this a fair few times now but the conditions were simply perfect on this day with the dramatic lighting falling on the building, and the extremely menacing clouds above moving quickly along between heavy rain showers providing a moody backdrop against the hills.

Captured with a DJI Air 3S drone from a vantage point in Vezzi Portio, Liguria. This aerial perspective looks down upon the town of Finale Ligure nestled in the foreground, bordering the vast, deep blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Beyond Finale Ligure, a series of dark, rugged mountain ridges covered in dense Mediterranean maquis recede into the distance, with smaller coastal towns tucked along the shoreline under a vast, moody sky. A small forest pond not far from home – five minutes by car, then a quiet two-kilometre walk through the woods.
When I arrived, the pond was already in shadow, except for a single patch of late sunlight. In that warm spot, a cormorant sat calmly enjoying the last sun rays of the day.
I felt completely free – free to stay, free to watch and free to simply breathe in the moment.

Ein kleiner Waldteich, nur fünf Autominuten und zwei Kilometer zu Fuß von meinem Zuhause entfernt.
Als ich dort ankam, lag der Teich bereits im Schatten, bis auf eine einzige Stelle, die noch von der späten Sonne beschienen wurde. An diesem warmen Ort saß ein Kormoran und genoss ruhig die letzten Sonnenstrahlen des Tages.
Ich fühlte mich vollkommen frei – frei, zu bleiben, frei, zu beobachten und frei, einfach nur den Moment zu genießen.

We were up in Tagaytay for the weekend and I took this shot from the park railings around sunset time. The tripod was there but the light was changing fast so I didn't use it. I held the camera steady as I could while the wind was picking up a bit. The sky had those orange and gray clouds going on, and you could see the whole landscape below with houses and buildings spread out everywhere. There's tall grass and plants in the foreground that were swaying around, and the view stretches pretty far back to some distant hills. The lighting worked out okay since I caught it right before it got too dark.
