Europe - Finland - Suomi - North of the Arctic Circle - Finnish Lapland - Lappland - Lapponia under fresh cover of snow during winter time - Aurora borealis - Northern light - Produced by solar wind particles guided by Earth's field lines to the top of the atmosphere
No single Northern Lights photo does true justice to what is happening on the sky during those unique moments when Northern Lights appear. After incredible experience of capturing my first ever timelapse in Iceland last year, I've headed to Frozen land of Arctic Lapland to capture Northern Lights under snowy landscape, which is often difficult to find along the coast. Average temperatures around - 25C dont make it particularly friendly experience, but the one which will always be treasured.

Europe - Scandinavia - Norway - North of the Arctic Circle - Lofoten Island - Moskenes - Hamnoy - Hamnøy - Picturesque fishing village under fresh cover of snow during pink sunset
Guilty as charged - one of the most photographed locations on Lofoten, but I simply could not help myself, because if there is A place to stay in Lofoten, it surely must be these cabins which might look like those traditional fisherman cabins from outside... but they are no longer anything like that inside. Wonderful interior, very different from when we stayed there 10 years ago.

Buachaille Etive Mòr (Scottish Gaelic: Buachaille Eite Mòr, meaning "the great herdsman of Etive"), generally known to climbers simply as The Buachaille or The Beuckle, is a mountain at the head of Glen Etive in the Highlands of Scotland. Its almost perfect pyramidal form, as seen from the A82 road when travelling towards Glen Coe, makes it one of the most recognisable mountains in Scotland, and one of the most depicted on postcards and calendars. Buachaille Etive Mòr takes the form of a ridge nearly five miles (8 km) in length, almost entirely encircled by the River Etive and its tributaries. The ridge contains four principal tops: from north-east to south-west these are Stob Dearg (1022 m), Stob na Doire (1011 m), Stob Coire Altruim (941 m) and Stob na Bròige (956 m). Stob Dearg and Stob na Bròige are both Munros; the latter was promoted to Munro status by the Scottish Mountaineering Club in 1997.
The steep, craggy north-eastern face of Stob Dearg forms the classic aspect of the mountain as seen from the Kings House Hotel, and constitutes the most direct route of ascent for climbers and scramblers. Buachaille Etive Mòr is separated from its sister mountain of Buachaille Etive Beag to the west by the valley of Lairig Gartain. To the east lies Glen Etive, which provides an alternative route of ascent, heading up steep grassy slopes to the summit of Stob na Bròige.

This is favorite in my series When the Soul Speaks, a collection of emotive conceptual B&W child imagery. This particular image pays homage to Longfellow's legendary poem of the same title.

Fresh snow clings to the ledges along the South Rim near Yavapai–Mather, while a low cloud spills into the canyon and the buttes fade blue into the distance. Warm sandstone, cool snow, and endless layers—winter geology on display at Grand Canyon National Park.
Observing this ring-tailed lemur in a quiet moment of rest, I was struck by the profound intelligence and contemplative quality in its gaze. There's something deeply moving about the way lemurs observe their world - those bright, expressive eyes seem to hold ancient wisdom from the forests of Madagascar.
I chose dramatic black and white lighting to emphasize the sculptural beauty of this remarkable primate and to create an intimate connection with the viewer. The low-key approach strips away distractions, focusing entirely on the character and emotion visible in those penetrating eyes and gentle expression.
What captivated me was the very human-like quality of this moment - the way this lemur seemed lost in thought, gazing into the distance with what appeared to be quiet reflection. These critically endangered primates carry such dignity and grace, reminding us of our shared evolutionary heritage and our responsibility to protect their fragile world.
My intention was to create more than just a wildlife photograph, but rather a portrait that reveals the individual personality and emotional depth of this remarkable creature, hoping to inspire greater appreciation for these extraordinary animals and their precarious future.
I was drawn to this hillside as dark storm clouds began building on the horizon, sensing that something spectacular was about to unfold. The air had that electric quality that precedes a thunderstorm, and I could see the rain curtains already falling in the distance.
What captivated me was this incredible battle between light and darkness - while the storm dominated most of the sky with its imposing cumulonimbus formations, the setting sun managed to break through beneath the cloud base, casting this golden glow across the distant hills. It was one of those fleeting moments where nature displays its full dramatic range.
I positioned myself to capture the layered composition of this rural landscape - the golden grasslands in the foreground, the dense forest canopy, and those illuminated hills that seemed to glow against the storm's dark backdrop. The contrast between the peaceful pastoral setting and the approaching tempest created this sense of anticipation and drama.
My intention was to freeze this ephemeral moment when two opposing forces of nature - the storm's power and the sun's persistence - coexist in perfect tension. These are the moments that remind us of nature's incredible ability to create scenes more dramatic than any artist could imagine.

Isle of Skye - The Quirang is a fascinating rock formation on the Trotternish peninsula on Skye. It is approximately two miles north west of Staffin and six miles south east of Rubha Hunish. The Quiraing is a spectacular landslip on the eastern face of Meall na Suiramach, the northernmost summit of the Trotternish Ridge on the Isle of Skye. The whole of the Trotternish Ridge escarpment was formed by a great series of landslips; the Quiraing is the only part of the slip still moving, the road at its base near Flodigarry requires repairs each year.
The Trotternish Ridge lies on Skye's northernmost peninsula known as Trotternish. The northernmost summit on this ridge is known as the Quirang which has a fantastic maze of pinnacles, cliffs and flat grass tables that were formed by an ancient landslide of biblical proportions. From below these cliffs look huge, upon closer inspection you find many intricacies - scree slopes provide entrances to reveal an intricate maze of deep chasms and huge rock walls.

Europe - UK - England - Cornwall - North Cornwall - Trebarwith Strand - Trebervedh Sian - The Strand - Vast cliffs, dark caves, fine golden sand and Gull rock, almost reminiscent of a dogs head emerging from Atlantic Ocean during moody evening
This shot is such a nice example that photos can be captured in whatever conditions. It was dark, cold, windy (luckily from opposite direction than the sea), rainy evening... If it was not for the meeting of old friend Adam Burton, that I wanted to see for some time, I would have stayed in my Camelot Castle Hotel, wondering its halls and sitting around the round table pretending to be King Arthur (or least his queen ;)) But because I had extra reason to go out, I went and had a great time with my friend while also taking some photos I'm happy with. Not your typical colorful sunset, but moody seascape shot that I like ;)

A lone figure steps out of the shadows, framed by stone, silence, and light.
A moment suspended between past and present — where mystery walks hand in hand with destiny.
Black & white doesn’t remove color… it reveals truth.
n the hush between walls and work, she pushes forward. mop in hand, shadow in step, she becomes the rhythm that no one hears but everyone depends on. her silhouette, caught between day and duty, stands taller than most ever notice.

Middle East - Turkey - Türkiye - Mediterranean coast of southwestern Turkey - Antalya Province - Alanya - Alaiye - Beach resort city located on the Turkish Riviera below the Taurus Mountains - Historical town center & harbor with Lighthouse at Sunset - Dusk - Twilight - Night
Latest development in Turkey is not the most cheerful one. It is a country where I've been on many occasions, always having wonderful time while exploring this fascinating melting pot of cultures. I do hope there will be many more visits in the future, once the situation calms down and resolves in the best possible way. Lighthouse is a symbol of hope for many, as it always was a guiding light to safety of a harbour or as a warning sign on dangerous coast. May this photo of a lighthouse be symbol of the guiding light into safety from the stormy times that Turkey is experiencing now.

this moment caught in london’s brutalist heart balances solitude and structure — a man framed by the coiled ribs of raw concrete, held in a diagonal beam of afternoon light. the silence of the architecture speaks louder than the subject, as if the building itself paused to breathe. shadow and geometry entwine with human stillness.
beneath the tilted no-parking sign, he walks as if boxed in by invisible limits. a hand to the head—maybe thought, maybe tension. the midday sun burns a path across his skin and the cracked white wall behind him offers no answers. just a command in red and blue: no left, no right.

Love doesn’t vanish.
It folds itself into the corners of things -
a scent, a song, the way light hits the floor at 4PM.
Loss is loud at first.
It rearranges the furniture,
leaves the windows open,
scatters the pages you meant to keep.
But love is patient.
It waits in the silence,
in the rituals you didn’t know were rituals
until they were gone.
And when you choose it again -
not because it’s easy,
but because it’s true -
that’s the win.
Not the kind with applause.
The kind with breath.
With grace.
With the quiet knowing:
you loved,
you lost,
and still,
you love.

barcelona at night. a face caught in thought, framed by steel, smoke, and invisible weight. light brushes skin and hope, while the city flickers on in the background.
in the thick heat of midday, the pharmacy glows like a theatrical set — a portal between commerce and solitude. she steps out with shadows on her shoulders, caught between the glossy promises of youth and the ordinary gravity of age. the advertisement stares ahead with eternal smoothness, while her gaze drops, quietly human. this is the anatomy of contrast — not just of light, but of lives.
Encountering this emperor tamarin, I was immediately struck by the dignified presence and almost human-like wisdom in its gaze. That magnificent white mustache gives this small primate such distinctive character - like meeting an elderly philosopher lost in contemplation.
I chose dramatic black and white lighting to emphasize the sculptural quality of this remarkable face and to strip away any distractions from the pure essence of the moment. The low-key approach transforms what could have been a simple animal photograph into something more intimate and portrait-like.
What moved me most was the sense of quiet intelligence I perceived in this tamarin's expression. There's something deeply contemplative about the way it holds itself, as if carrying the wisdom of the rainforest canopy. The contrast between its small stature and profound presence creates a fascinating tension.
My intention was to capture not just the physical beauty of this endangered species, but to reveal the individual personality and dignity that exists within. Sometimes the most powerful wildlife portraits are the quietest ones - moments that remind us of the complex emotional lives of our fellow creatures.

It is being said that a picture is worth a thousand words and it is very true statement, however what if you put thousands of pictures together ? I had the incredible luck to experience once in a life time Northern lights show created by huge Solar storm which brought unseen colors ranging from the usual green, yellow to red, purple or even blue, to the sky all over Nordic countries and even all the way to the south of UK. Add several other lucky nights with smaller or large Aurora Borealis appearance in unique landscape of Iceland and the result is relatively lot of footage for my first ever time-lapse video.

Europe - UK - United Kingdom - Scotland - St Monans - Village in the East Neuk of Fife named after the legendary Saint Monan - Situated approximately 3 miles west of Anstruther, this small community, whose inhabitants formerly made their living mainly from fishing, is now a tourist destination situated on the Fife Coastal Path - Breakwater can be found at end of the harbour captured at high tide
As is usual in Scotland, we had our share of really bad weather with lots of rain and gale strong wind, however this particular night was the opposite - clear blue sky, and not a single movement on the sea... I would have wished for bit more dramatic conditions here but I guess we cant always have it all ;) At least the tide was at its highest during sunset, which is a must for this shot. Unfortunately it was mid way between the New Moon and Full Moon meaning that high tide is at its lowest. If you wanna shoot at this location, you need high tide at its highest, that would add another 1m of water which would completely hide the concrete at the bottom.
