Intended for my "Oxcott" layout, set in 1989

Swindon built Class 120 unit clears the summit through Bathpool Park, Kidsgrove, Staffordshire on Christmas Eve 1984 whilst working a Crewe to Derby service.

This was a regular sight for many years, and was even worse than seeing a Class 24 locomotive come up the hill, Nowadays it would be a most welcome sight (both would), but I'm not sure if it's physically possible with the Class 120 unit, as I'm not sure if any were preserved.

For the record, the unit is set EP (Etches Park) 517 which was made up of 50654, 59xxx, 50742.

50654 & 50742 had actually been slightly renumbered in this shot to 53654 & 53742, this always looked odd to me, but no doubt there was a logical reason for it....somewhere along the line !
