My new Lego model of a Bulleid pacific; Merchant Navy Class '35005 Canadian Pacific'.
The Merchant Navy class were designed for the Southern Railway in Britain by Oliver Bulleid, and were built between 1941 and 1949. They originally had 'Air Smoothed Casing'; a type of streamlining. They were later followed the smaller and lighter 'West Country' and 'Battle of Britain' classes (which were identical apart from their naming). These were also originally built in streamlined condition. My other Lego Bulleid loco, '21C123 Blackmore Vale' is an example of an original condition West Country Class.
In the 1950s onwards, the Southern Railway was taken over by British Rail, who began to rebuild all 3 classes of the Bulleid pacifics, without the streamlining, to allow easier maintenance. This model is an example of a REBUILT Mechant Navy class.
The real '35005 Canadian Pacific' is now preserved at the Mid-Hants Railway, and I've seen her running many times.

31438 was built by Brush Traction at the Falcon Works Loughborough and entered service as British Railways D5557 on October 15th 1959.
31438 was withdrawn from mainline service by British Rail in September 1995.
Absolutely adore Class 31's. Cut my young trainspotting teeth on these in this British Rail blue livery at Chelmsford station on the Great Eastern Main Line in the late 1970s.

A Day in the Life of BRB
‘A Day in the Life of BRB’ is a special photoshoot, taken on the 3 Nov 2021 while Birmingham Royal Ballet were touring to Sadler’s Wells to show London their 'Curated by Carlos' triple bill.
The gallery follows the company through the day, starting with company class, and work in the studio on two pieces being danced in 'Curated by Carlos' - Miguel Altunaga's 'City of a Thousand Trades' and 'Chacona' by Goyo Montero. The later featured a new pas de deux created especially for Carlos Acosta and Alessandra Ferri, who can also be seen in this set.
The 'Curated by Carlos' triple bill is being streamed from the 11-18 November 2021 as part of Sadler's Wells Digital Stage - more details at www.sadlerswells.com/digital-stage
