However, the West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive refused to allow the seven units (numbered 155341-155347) that they owned to be converted they are still operating under the Northern franchise.
There's certainly no shortage of these HTI Mercedes-Benz ML-Class models in my collection as i've bought quite a lot of them over the years from various U.K. retailers who use them to be sold under their budget in house brands. I decided to get some more back in April as they were on special offer at Sainsbury's which made them ridiculously cheap, nearly half the price of a normal Hot Wheels! HTI have traditionally been a toy importer and most of their 1/64 models are unlicensed castings made by outsourced Chinese toy companies and thus aren't exclusive but this ML-Class and others appear to be made just for HTI. Its a licensed Daimler Benz product which is fairly unusual at this end of the market and does mean that although of course this is no high end product it is well cast and has good levels of external and indeed interior detailing including badging, grilles and lights. Mint and boxed.

I have been taking photos of Britain's railways for about 40 years. Taking this photo brought a new experience. A woman in a uniform asked me if I had permission to take photos here. I replied I didn't know I needed permission. She told me I was not allowed to take a picture. WTF? If I had gone lineside a mile up the track and photographed the same locomotive what's the difference? Anyway here it is, the picture I wasn't allowed to take.
I can't resist a class 110. Seen here working a Leeds to Sheffield local train, this is a Hornby model.
The unit represents the class on its last legs, and wears the blue and grey colours of BR and the MetroTrain logos of the West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive.
It must be a damp day as the passengers appear to have steamed up the windows.
Freightliner Class 70 no. 70019 is seen sat on platform at Eastleigh Railway station on what I assume was driver changeover, 22nd June
Explosives trains are not seen every day, more often than not being pathed during the 'wee small hours'. The 3F03 23:34 Fenny Compton (for Base Ammunition Depot Kineton) to Longtown Central Ammunition Depot was no exception, but its lengthy transit time allowed a photo in the Border City. The containerised explosive train (with barrier wagons marshalled at each end) is seen crossing the Eden river bridge with DB Schenker 66051 in charge on Tuesday 17 February 2015.
