Lancaster University: passing University Campus with a northbound Motorail 25/09/1980.
I have the loco recorded as 86232 but it is plainly not a class 86 & is probably an 85 number now unknown.
Rescanned from negative.
Preserved Brush Type 2 Class 31 A1A-A1A diesel locomotive 31438 ready to depart Ongar Station with the 2E23 13:55 service to North Weald on the heritage Epping Ongar Railway (EOR) in Essex (UK).
31438 was built by Brush Traction at the Falcon Works Loughborough and entered service as British Railways D5557 on October 15th 1959.
31438 was withdrawn from mainline service by British Rail in September 1995.
Absolutely adore Class 31's. Cut my young trainspotting teeth on these in this British Rail blue livery at Chelmsford station on the Great Eastern Main Line in the late 1970s.

Greater Anglia Class 156 'Super Sprinter' 2 car Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) 156402 arriving at Sheringham station in Norfolk (UK).

Our train back down the Bittern Line to Norwich! ;-)
Unidentified class 47 standing at the Down Outer Home signal at Tram Inn, awaiting the road. 23rd April 1985.
I used 18 gauge wire, 2 ceramic beads and a seed bead. I wrapped wire around the seed bead to keep it cnetered. Did wire scrolls at the end instead of making a tab. Love the potential for this kind of toggle bar.
An unidentified English Electric Type 3 (Class 37/0) 1,750hp Co-Co with split headcodes and gangways in Rail Blue livery with all yellow front end emerging out of the mist at Clapton ( I think - my old notes are not clear on the location!) on a Cambridge - Liverpool St express, 10/76. Scanned from photograph taken on a Kowa SET camera.
Greater Anglia Class 321 'dusty bin' 4 car EMU 321437 ex London Liverpool Street at speed northbound at Hatfield Peverel Station on the Great Eastern Main Line in Essex (UK).
Standing on the steps up to the footbridge enabled an elevated view of 769452 arriving at Caerphilly with 2R12 1303 Penarth to Ystrad Mynach.
In pure electric mode this was 319452 which has been converted to diesel operation by the addition of the appropriate underfloor engines. TfW received eight units as a short term measure to help with the elimination of the Pacer Class 142/143s which were a damn sight more reliable.
Of the eight, three have already been sent back off lease to Long Marston with the remainder due to go soon as.

PKP 3,000 V DC overhead Class EP07 2,680 hp Bo-Bo No.EP07-374 (with ribbed sides and LED lights in original surrounds) in PKP Intercity blue & grey livery at Poznan Glowny, 19 November 2017. In the late 1950's the PKP wanted an advanced electric locomotive and bought 20 EU06 mixed traffic locomotives built by English Electric's Vulcan Foundry in 1962-65 which were a DC export version of the AC British Railways Class 83. PKP then procured Polish built versions of the EP06 - 488 EU07's built by Pafawag and Cegielski in 1963-1994 and 200 5,400 hp duplex ET21 heavy freight and coal Bo-Bo+Bo-Bo units (two EU07's joined together) built by Cegielski in 1977-83. In 1995-2003 ZNTK modified 97 EU07 locos to express passenger EP07 locos. The 15 EP08 locos built by Pafawag in 1972-76 were newbuild express passenger versions of EU07's. The final development of the type is the 3,916 hp EP09 Class, 47 being built by Pafawag in 1986-97. The class, with a revised body, was intended to be a completely new state-of-the-art design but a shortage of funds led to the adoption of many features from the EP07/08's. However, the mixture of new and old technology was not a happy one and many subsequent modifications had to be made.

The focal point of the cabin is the redesigned bar which is a design collaboration between the Virgin Atlantic in-house team and VW&BS and manufactured by Altitude. Progressing on from the A330 bar, it frames the Upper Class cabin and greets all passengers on boarding. The bar boasts a white Corian worktop as well as RBG white LED lighting which can be controlled independently of the cabin allowing crew to tailor the look and the atmosphere depending on the destination, time of day and the desires of the customer. A central feature of the new lighting concept is the use of the textured back-lit panelling in the bar area which creates depth, movement and intrigue. The design of the new bar encourages interaction and sociability with four stools, a perch and a lean-to allowing eight people to relax comfortably in the area. Two stools now sit opposite each other to offer customers the option of dual dining at the bar. Taking inspiration from the trend of the “communal table” new experiences for customers at the bar have also been developed, including pre-dinner cocktail hour, wine tasting and social dining experiences. There is also an interactive TV screen at the bar with a view to showing popular events, ambient backdrops or simply flight progress, adding to the social aspect of the area
