In the sidings east of Chadwell Heath station. I remember that afterwards I was challenged by a representative of the firm using the adjacent yard: "Oi! Who gave you permission to take photos? Maybe I should call the police."
"Call them if you like," I replied, protesting my sole interest in the 306s (and not any dodgy dealings that might have been going on).
The Sovremenny class destroyer is the principal anti-surface warship of the Russian Navy. The Soviet designation for the class was Project 956 Sarych (Buzzard).
Its primary role is to attack enemy warships while also providing sea and air defense for warships and transports under escort. It complements the Udaloy-class destroyers in anti-submarine operations.
It was used in the sovjet navy, later until today in the russian navy and China bought some vessels too, which are still in use there.

03 078 at Berwick-upon-Tweed. Before the demise of wagonload freight, even some relatively small stations had a shunting loco, this example being for shunting Tweedmouth yard. The 03 class was once a common sight in eastern England where duties were less onerous and would not justify a more powerful 08. Seen on 2 June 1984.
Named after one of the most dangerous predators on Honorous VII, a Rimward colony world originally settled by Eastern European and Japanese colonists, the Tigerhound is as rugged as it's namesake. A modular internal construction allows the ship to take quite the pounding if it's shields fail, though a smart commander of the vessel will utilise the potent, long range cannon to harass enemy capital ships at long range.
It's primary role is that of a scout, commerce raider and escort. During major fleet actions, the Tigerhound can screen larger ships from the assault of enemy fighter swarms, and is nimble enough to stay close and redeploy quick enough. However, in short-range combat with any capital ship of Frigate size or above, a wise commander would withdraw, lest they test the ruggedness of this vessel.
Length: 95m

Preserved and mainline certified English Electric Type 1 Class 20 'Chopper' Bo-Bo diesel locomotive 20227 in a rather agreeable London Underground livery approaching Weybourne Station on the heritage North Norfolk Railway in Norfolk (UK).
20227 was the last Type 1 Class 20 locomotive built at the English Electric Vulcan Foundry Newton le Willows in 1968 and withdrawn from BR service in October 1990.
The English Electric Type 1 Class 20 locomotives which were first introduced in 1957 are one of the most enduring first generation diesels built with at least 22 units certified for mainline use in June 2016.
The locomotive is painted in LU livery in acknowledgement of its extensive engineering train work over the years on the Metropolitan Line and the London Underground's 150th anniversary in 2013.
20227 was a special guest locomotive for the summer 2016 season at the NNR courtesy of the Class 20 Locomotive Society.

With DB Schenker withdrawing their class 08 Shunters recently, it was a nice surprise to see one working at Tyne Yard. Shunters were probably the least photographed loco pre-digital.

British Rail Class 69 Co-Co diesel locomotive 69003 as operated by GBRf (GB Railfreight) working a rake of empty JNA box wagons from Mountfield (East Sussex) to Southampton Western Docks at Eastleigh Station in the County of Hampshire (UK).
I think this is a daily GBRf service for the collection of gypsum from the Port of Southampton back to Mountfield.
69003 was originally built by Electroputere S.A. of Craiova, Romania and entered service for British Rail as Class 56, 56018 on August 23rd 1977.
56018 was rebuilt including a new low emission engine and other major improvements by Progress Rail for GBRf then reclassified as Class 69, 69003 in 2021.
Note the 'speed whiskers' which are a tribute to some pre yellow panel British Railways diesel multiple units from the 1950's/1960's.
