Sometimes when my Magpies come inside, and if I don't respond in good time, they will call to announce their presence. In this brief video, one Magpie sings, while the other, just outside the back door, sings a duet. They were fed soon after.
Our lack of stewardship with our earth is obvious through the huge climate changes. Yet it seems that we still have not learned how to nurture our world rather than abuse it. So my message is let's take heed how nature is reacting and if we don't make the change we will lose!

Cette année, mes petites Bernaches nonnettes ont eu 6 petits et 4 ont survécus !
Comme d'habitude, je les retrouves sur les berges de La Thièle et elles viennent brouter à mes pieds ! C'est que du bonheur :-)

When I got my new iPhone 6s, I kept my old iPhone 5 just to do timelapses. Last night, I biked to the pedestrian bridge by Harvard hoping to see a cool sunset - a day with thunderstorms often has amazing clouds. But, a day with thunderstorms is also risky - when I got there there was pink in the sky but just a few minutes later it started to sprinkle. I had to pack up my camera stuff real quick and ended up getting soaked on the bike ride home as it really started to rain. Luckily I have waterproof panniers on my bike, so all my camera stuff was safe.
The Forgetmenot massif is composed of a long ridge, connected by a col to Forgetmenot Mountain. The ridge has two high points, the "Lookout" area and the north peak, with its delightfully large cairn (a sign this part of the ridge is closest to the trailhead parking area). We've been putting Lookout in quotes because it was Forgetmenot Mountain that had the fire lookout, not the place on the ridge modern hiking maps call the "Lookout." On this walk, we covered around 24 km's return distance, gaining, with all the ups and downs, over 1200 m's, taking about 8 hours to do so.

Duckweed is an important high-protein food source for waterfowl and also is eaten by humans in some parts of Southeast Asia. As it contains more protein than soybeans, it is sometimes cited as a significant potential food source.[The tiny plants provide cover for fry of many aquatic species. The plants are used as shelter by pond water species such as bullfrogs and bluegills. They also provide shade and, although frequently confused with them, can reduce certain light-generated growths of photoautotrophic algae.
