The cavorting figure of Bacchus (god of wine and thus of the autumnal grape harvest),is one of four statues the artist made to represent the seasons.A type of sculpture well-documented in Genoese palace decoration of this era, each would have stood in a carved wooden base in the corner of a grand room.Nevertheless,Parodi conceived and executed the figure to be seen with equal interest from all sides.Bacchus wears a gilt grapevine wreath on his tousled hair;his mouth is open in a toothy smile, and his blank eyes are wide open. His raised left arm projects forward, proffering a group of gilt grapes, while his bent right leg, foot extended, juts out in counterbalance.
Until recently, the Bacchus was only known through an old photograph and can be associated with three other allegorical representations of the seasons attributed to Parodi or his workshop. The others in the group that have been identified include the Winter in the Cleveland Museum of Art,thought to date to the generation after Parodi, and the figure of Spring in the Badisches Landesmuseum,Karlsruhe. The location of Summer is currently unknown.
I am sitting inside a snowglobe at Nykus. The hill and lighthouse are outside the snowglobe. The snow and everything else is inside the snowglobe. The snowglobe was originally sized for putting on your table or mantelplace but it said resizeable so I wondered. I stretched it out and sure enough it was big enough to fit me. I love it when I find something I can use in a photoshoot!

Yes, Salmon and Steelhead run here. This spot is just inside the 'fly fishing only' area. There are many personalities to this river, with calm, deep spots, rapids, wide spots, narrow spots, etc.

This morning @ Snettisham 3 islands were covered with hundereds of Black-tailed Godwits 2 hours before the tide came in. This is just a small section on the island nearest the hide. Something does make them look up & pay attention near the end of video
This is the first time that I am uploading a video to Flickr, but I would love to share with you the roaring (calling) of a lioness.
She hurt one of her front paws a few days before, and was left alone with one of her male sub-adult cubs for a day or two by the rest of the pride. My interpretation of what she is saying here is:
"My pride, thank you for giving me time to recover from my hurt paw, but it is Ok now again and please come back to me so that I can join you again."
When we came back to this site later that afternoon, guess what, they all arrived back with her, and very late that afternoon she embarked on a journey with them! A good ending for a change!
Szabó T. Anna: Az ég zsoltára
Perelj, uram, perlőimmel?
Felelj, Uram, felhőiddel.
Mondd, hogy rend van a világban,
felejtsem, amiket láttam.
Nehéz lenni, tudod, Uram?
Szívünk-szemünk úgy tele van
fájdalommal, szenvedéssel,
amit nem érünk fel ésszel.
Körülöttünk annyi zaj van.
A testtel is csak a baj van.
A lélek meg – szent a lélek,
de nem éli a szentséget.
Kő a szívünk, fáradt, nehéz,
szemünk csak a képekre néz,
tükrök közé vagyunk zárva,
nem látunk ki a világra.
Itt lent perbe vagyunk fogva,
perlőnk fölénk magasodna,
túlkiabál, elküld haza,
hiába, hogy nincs igaza.
Perelj, Uram… – Nem, ne perelj.
Inkább csak felhőket terelj:
a változó világ képét –
ezzel hozd fölénk a békét.
Felelj, uram, felhőiddel,
vértezz fel a kellő hittel,
hogy törvényed ne feledjük,
eged alatt legyünk együtt,
tanuljunk világot látni,
indulatainkkal bánni,
nem bújkálni, mint a gyermek,
viselni a közös terhet,
éljük át a mások részét,
legyen bennünk újra részvét,
legyen bennünk hit, alázat.
Égből építs nekünk házat.
Post big fall, Bei and Mei went inside, after a comfort nursing session, both went up the rock works.
Mei: Bei Bei Boy, you exhausted me.
Bei Bei: Mom, that was a big one. I am out-a-here. Oops, a little fall. Really need my nap now.

... and I rarely see my sheep so shocked, depressed, and unimpressed with the weather conditions ! Ewe can't blame them though, as it's not the breakfast that they were expecting. I guess that snow doesn't taste as good as grass ~ ha !

Another short video clip of some of the birds I photographed over the years. Assembled in Photodex Pro Show Producer. As always, Flickr kicked up a fuss during uploading, but the birds eventually won, mostly. Sorry about the black leadin to the video...Flickr often works in mysterious ways!
My first video. And I had never realised what a large number of the groups I put pics into do not accept videos.
I do not own the rights to this , but for entertainment and pure fun and love i have made a dance video of this song so enjoy
So this is one of the many timelapses im slowly getting round to editing. I think my computer actually hates me, so if anyone fancies a collaboration give me a shout!

This was taken where I was staying for a couple of night. I seemed to have struck gold as the weather held out for the majority of my trip. The building was an old fish warehouse the looked to be abandoned and into the distance is the small town of Seydisfjordur.
I can imagine the town used to be a busy little fishing community but now seems to rely heavily on tourism.
Still picturesque in it own little way.
Timelapse of me and friends sitting around a campfire and enjoying the clouds and stars.
I like how the stars and clouds move in very different directions here.
To produce this video I shot 621 frames each at 30 seconds f/5.0 ISO 2000 with my Canon 6D and Sigma 15mm.
This area is nicknamed "Hollywood & Vine" because there was an old street sign placed here decades ago with those names on it. A couple of years ago, the sign was stolen. There are recent reports, however, that the park rangers found the old sign discarded on some BLM land. Hopefully they reinstall the sign soon.
