The water bowl is going down a treat. Digit is still doing very well with only one finger on his right hand.
The camera and lens were left in place for the shots; nothing was moved, resized or pasted out of place from exactly where it occurred (I'm not a fan of faked "big moon " shots).
The post-rise images were captured at an exposure that precluded inclusion of the foreground, so the presence of the static foreground captured at an exposure a couple of minutes earlier implements a bit of a time shift of the foreground from pre to post-rise.
Rainbow lorikeets are true parrots, within the Psittacoidea superfamily in the order Psittaciformes. The rainbow lorikeet or lorikeet (common name) is a species of parrot found in Australia. It is common along the eastern seaboard, from northern Queensland to South Australia. Its habitat is rainforest, coastal bush and woodland areas. They are true parrots of medium-size, with the length ranging from 25 to 30 cm, including the tail. The weight varies from 75 to 157 g. The plumage of the nominate race, as with all subspecies, is very bright. The head is deep blue with a greenish-yellow nuchal collar, and the rest of the upper parts (wings, back and tail) are green. The chest is orange/yellow. The belly is deep blue, and the thighs and rump are green. In flight a yellow wing-bar contrasts clearly with the red underwing coverts. S20N_1042

What a lovely day of Lenticular cloud formations and then this vibrant sunset was the cherry on the cake :)
I go out of town for a few days and when I come back I find a juvenile raptor trying to rule our backyard lake (it was perched on a neighbor's fence when I first espied it...no more than 10 feet away)! Small, fast and agile, it was very difficult to track with my camera (as you will see in several empty frames...haha!).
Anyway, it tried attacking the ducklings in two separate "rafts" (ducks are more often referred to as a raft, team or paddling while the group is on water) but got scared off by the mothers Muscovy. I don't know if it will be back tomorrow but I will be waiting.

I filmed today's video at “The Lost Unicorn Gallery”. It's a really beautiful place that you should definitely visit. As always, I would like to say that I make these videos because I enjoy it, there are bound to be small mistakes, for which I apologize. Especially with the singing I have difficulties with my bad English and I apologize for any translation errors. Have fun watching and listening
It's easy to recognize orographic clouds by their distinctive shape, and it's fascinating to watch them whirl in place during high winds aloft events.
Not all that obvious when watching in real time, but in a time lapse video, their dynamic movement can be seen.
