For those that don't know, I've been working on a year in the life of Great Gable project for Trail magazine due to be published early 2012.

I'm just starting to pull the various strands together. This is from one of the first days dedicated to the project, the summit Remembrance Service, 14th Nov 2010. Sunny blue skies down below, cold, damp and wintry on top.

For those of you that wonder where my energy comes from, the closest figure is my 58 yr old mother leaving me for dead ;)

Not the best photo, but one taken quicky to capture the moment. Nita, a Pyrenean Mountain Mountain dog, which were originally bred to protect sheep, shows she still has her ancestors instincts.

those clouds on the horizon brought a huge load of snow

Came across these today... most interesting pair of converse I've ever seen.

It was one of those days when it's a minute away from snowing and there's this electricity in the air, you can almost hear it.

And this bag was, like, dancing with me. Like a little kid begging me to play with it. For fifteen minutes.

And that's the day I realized there was this entire life behind things, and... this incredibly benevolent force, that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid, ever.

Video's a poor excuse, I know.

But it helps me remember... and I need to remember...

Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world I feel like I can't take it, like my heart's going to cave in.

Helsinki, Finland. So good. At the Cafe Regatta.

On our way to Ourika Valley we stopped at a Berber house. This is what their backyard looks like. It is a river, a playground, and a laundry room all in one.

The National Zoo announced today that Mei Xiang will not be having a cub this year. This news is hard to accept because we all love Mei and know what a wonderful mother she is and deserves to be again.

for those that don't know, the greater vancouver area is also known as the lower mainland. an excessive increase in gang-related brazen public shootings and homicides has recently plagued the city, hence...lower gangland.
