I had Chase swimming at the "dog beach" early yesterday morning. At 9:00 am it was in the 80's with high humidity. This wake boarder caught my attention not only for his skill, but for a flashback in time when I was a competitive water skier. It all started when I was a kid growing up in Michigan that later turned into what consumed most of my life into my 40's. A shoulder injury put me out of contention but I've since had the pleasure to teach others. This photo... a simple frozen moment that brought decades of memories.

The keeper put out some veggies on these wooden podiums for the lemurs to jump onto at feeding time , and everyone gets a good look.

The Driving Creek Railroad & Pottery is one of those awesome crazy projects that turned into something beautiful. A potter (Barry) built his own little railroad to supply wood and clay to his pottery. He kept building the railroad up the side of the mountain on his property while also replanting the land with native New Zealand ferns, kauri, and rainforest trees to bring back the land to its native state. He then built the "Eye-Full" tower at the top with quite an amazing view.

It was difficult to photograph all of the amazing plants and pottery along the route because of the speed of our little train. This was a favorite place in NZ.
