Hazen, Nevada; the main part of the structure was built in 1904 as Shorty's Place, a bar. In the late 1930's the building became the Hazen Store. The sign dates to 1949. Gas pumps were added sometime before 1958. The Hazen Store is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Founded in 1903 as a railroad town, Hazen once had a population of several hundred people. However, as the highway system developed and steam engines gave way to diesel engines, the town began to shrink. In the 1950's the roundhouse and depot were closed and moved away. Today, only a few residents and several buildings from better days still exist.

Today my little cousin had a dance competition in Norfolk, right next to the MacArthur Mall so I stopped by there afterwards and went to the Sanrio store. They moved it in the mall and it is a lot smaller than the other one and it has less stuff in it. Also everything there was SOOO expensive! But I still LOVE the store! Still so many great goodies!!

This shopping center is located on Rosemead at Las Tunas in Temple City, California.
This shopping center was built in the 1970s and was part of a redevelopment project as far as I know.
The shopping center contained an Albertsons until recently. The Albertsons Supermarket was an original Albertsons opened in the 1970s. The store closed on April 9, 2009. This is the third closed store that I have seen that instead of leaving it open (the windows for you to look into the bulding) they have immediately boarded up the place. Previously, they usually post a guard and it sits until it is taken over by someone else.
This shopping center still currently has a Kmart Department Store, CVS Pharmacy Drug Store, Denny's Restaurant and several other major and non major stores.

The recently re-opened the Delacour General Store (just east of Calgary), it was originally in business from 1913 to 1986... Lots of interesting antiques inside, and this old International truck parked outside, for sale of course...
This is the Paulina general store. Paulina is an unincorporated community in Oregon that is little more than this store-slash-post-office-slash-saloon and the 120 or so people who depend on it.
Sadly, I had to shoot into the sun for this. We were just passing through and couldn't be at this spot when the light was better.
Paulina Porizkova was nowhere to be found.
Siding had covered an old advertisement on this barn near Watervliet for years. The person demolishing the barn left this wall up so that people could get to see the sign. The store advertised here is featured in photo at www.flickr.com/photos/fotoguy49057/3229638110/
