Mrs. Francis doesn't have alot but she has the better prices. This is one of the 3 small grocery stores, 2 ailes, yep thats all, the biggest store is double this size, thats right 4 rows!!!! You really have to be creative in your cooking that's for sure. Fruits and veggies are brought in once a week here and there is a line waiting, very little is grown on the island. The gov. is trying to motivate peple to do more agriculture, but this new generation is not too motivated to do that kind of work.
The town's past is recalled in Freckleton's Store (c.1900) and the even older (1891) building which stands next to it. Freckleton's is well worth a visit. It has changed little over the last century. Mr Freckleton is only too happy to talk about the area and his store although he threatens that if he becomes a tourist attraction he'll start charging people for his reminiscences.
A small ghost town located along the Sante Fe Trail, one that takes less time to drive through than it does to read this first sentence. This town once was a spot where people stopped to relax and stretch their legs. Now, it is but a ghost. The Delhi Store appears as if the family who owned and operated it just got up and left, leaving behind all their possesions except what they could pack into their car in mere minutes. Why it was left like this I will never know.
We almost didn't explore here. As we pulled up to this building, we were all tired from having explored all day, and being up at 5:30am probably had something to do with it too. But I am so glad we decided to get out and stretch our legs at this place.
Cool fact: A scene from Terrence Malick's film Badlands was shot here in Delhi! This is even cooler for me as Malick is my all time favorite movie director.
I walk into this store, and I'm in awe, this lady hand makes all these rad looking candles, the whole time I was just thinking "This is a woman who is doing something she loves," When I get a career I want to do something I truly love, I know this lady probably has had a lot of trouble and every day isn't a dream, but I bet she enjoys what she does, and thats what I want in my future.

MY! How the convention has grown over the years. 7 years ago, the entire convention fit into a space like the one above. Today, they have a high end store in the same size space and the entire Gaylord Palms resort was dedicated to the convention. Amazing to see how the company's grown.
