The 1879 Sterns Brothers Dry Goods Store on 23rd St between 5th and 6th Avenues in Manhattan.The store--now a Home Depot-had been expanded five times in its history!This store was not part of the stores on Ladies Mile (which mainly ran along 6th Avenue),but was around the corner of 23rd St on a block where there were brownstone homes.The Sterns Brothers,sons of German Jewish immigrants,purchased three lots in the middle of the block to build their cast-iron emporium.The store was further expanded in 1880,1885,1886 and 1892.By the 1886 expansion the store had a staff of 1500 employees,1800 incandescent lamps-the largest amount in any building to date-and thirteen elevators.The historic building was the headquarters for the MacMillan Toy Company in the Tom Hanks movie "BIG" where Josh Baskin went to work daytoninmanhattan.blogspot.com/2010/12/stern-brothers-dry...

Open-air museum Hagen, Westfalen, Germany. A romantic situated museum at the small stream Mäckingerbach" with a lot of ancient frame houses and workshops to visit. It offers interesting views of the interior of these buildings, most of the shops are still working showing old craftmanship.
Kolonial-und Gemischtwarenladen (ca. 1. Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts)- Freilichtmuseum Hagen des Landschaftsverbands Westfalen-Lippe. Im Tal des Mäckingerbaches idyllisch gelegen, bietet es Rundgänge durch zahlreiche original wiederaufgebaute Werkstätten und Fachwerkhäuser. In der Mitte an Mühlteichen gelegen befinden sich noch mehrere Mühlen und Schmieden.
I was by this place about a year ago. It was empty at the time and someone told me it was an old store. I have been wanting to go back since, but I couldn’t find it again until yesterday.
It now looks like it has been converted into a nice house and has people living inside.
Yesterday was President’s Day (a Holiday) in the US and so a lot of people were flying the American Flag. I like the pop of color the red, white and blue gives this old place.
Taken in the Northern Neck of Virginia.

Potters Store Sign closed now and took this great sign with them, this was in Cow Pens, SC for several years.
I consider street photo one of the most difficult styles of photography as your subject is constantly changing. You are not capturing a bridge or a river or a colorful fall forest. You are capturing moments from the city, an urban scenery, you are capturing expressions of random people while they are not posing for you, people doing their every day thing. So quite often I am trying to focus on something static on the street, something that caught my eye and then wait until the "right people" get into my frame. I think I got lucky on this one, as it felt like these 2 guys were just leaving the area after not finding what they were looking for (404 error, web administrators may get the joke). Picture taken at Little Five points, in Atlanta, GA.

Κατα τη γνωμη μου η φωτογραφια δρομου ειναι ισως το πιο δυσκολο ειδος φωτογραφίας καθως το θεμα σου αλλαζει συνεχως. Δεν φωτογραφιζεις μια γεφυρα, ενα ποταμι η ενα πολυχρωμο δασος το φθινοπωρο. Στη φωτογραφια δρομου το θεμα ειναι οι στιγμες σε μια πολη, ενα αστικο σκηνικο, οι εκφρασεις τυχαιων ανθρωπων που ομως δεν ποζαρουν για σενα, τυχαιοι ανθρωποι που κανουν καποιες κινησεις ρουτινας. Ετσι συχνα προσπαθω να εστιασω σε κατι στατικο, σε κατι που τραβηξε την προσοχη μου και επειτα να περιμενω μεχρι οι "σωστοι ανθρωποι" να μπουν στο καδρο μου. Νομιζω σταθηκα αρκετα τυχερος εδω αφου οι 2 αυτοι τυποι εμοιαζαν να απομακρυνονται απο την περιοχη αφου δεν βρηκαν αυτο που εψαχναν (σφαλμα 404, οι web admins μαλλον θα πιασουν το αστειο). Η φωτογραφια τραβηχτηκε στην περιοχη Little Five points στην Atlanta της πολιτειας της Georgia.

Meet Mac who is employed at Mother Nature's (Columbia, Maryland) as an Assistant to the VP of Rodent Control; however his real expertise involves Customer Relations. Mac excels in this area and is known to follow customers around the store providing lots of love and advice. He is also proficient at catching bugs of all varieties.
When the mines shut down and the people departed, they left a lot behind. This is part of what remains of a store. Bodie is now a California State Historical Park and all is kept in a state of "arrested decay".
