About a half mile up the road from Goode, VA is Goode Station. Now, the train tracks run through Goode, so I'm thinking Goode Station refers more to the time of wagon carriage, before the railroad came through, and it is a crossroads. Not much there now except this closed store/gas station, a couple of houses, and the church you see in the background.

It also refers to Foster Combination Stores at bottom of advertising copy on verso. Maybe part of an early retailing chain?

Built in 1923, it is one of five Frank Lloyd Wright designed houses in the City of Los Angeles. This unique house is small but, like all of the master architect's residences, is ideally suited to the site.
The house is built on a steep hillside in the Hollywood Hills at a time when the hills did not have the rich foliage present today. At the time of its construction, Storer House is said to have resembled a Pompeiian villa. Frank Lloyd Wright's son, Lloyd Wright, was the landscape architect, providing an illusion of a ruin barely visible within its jungle environment.
This is one of a number of displays in the Simcoe County Museum. This one as a general store around the turn of the century.

A personal favorite, while having a seat trying to get some cute puppies to hold still for a shot I happened to click off this image of the interior of the Rabbit Hash General Store in Rabbit Hash, Kentucky. Eating ice cream, having a beer, or tending your store is the priority of the day.
You can see here all the type of oils that Habib carries in his store Pure Fragrance located in Pointe Claire, Montreal, Quebec. Bottles full of brightly colored oils! Amazing pure fragrant oils. It is a must that you go and visit !!

The toy store also had its own section of arcade games, where parents can park their kids while they buy toys.
Nixon's General Store and Deli in Tabernacle, N.J.. Built in 1850 by Henry Peters to serve the people of the Pine Barrens. Purchased by the Nixons in 1956 and reopened in 1962 after being closed a number of years. Great sandwiches!
In this photo, you see less detail of the Alastair Whybrow steampunk tiara but you can see the halo of smoke from its little power plant.
