Disney Store (7,000 square feet)

8111 Concord Mills Boulevard, Suite 214, Concord Mills, Concord, NC

Opened in January 2008; originally The Children's Place (September 17th, 1999-September 2007)

Took this in Morgan City, Louisiana. I was standing on the levee. The downtown area has been renovated and has a lot of interesting old buildings, shops and restaurants. Nice place to visit. 3 shot HDR developed in Photomatix Pro, -2/0/+2. Slight grunge processing.

Photograph taken on January 7, 2009 of former Milliron’s Department Store that opened approximately in 1949. A few years later The Broadway Department Store chain took over this site and it was a Broadway Department Store until the early 1990s. The Broadway disposed of this location. Mervyns took over the site, gutted the interior, remodeled the interior, removed the rooftop parking, as well as an escalator tower and stairs that led to the roof. Located in Westchester California on Sepulveda and LaTijera. Los Angeles California. In 2008, Mervyns announced that they were closing down all of their stores. This former Mervyns Department Store closed down in early January 2009. Originally, when this was a Broadway, you could drive up to the roof for parking via a ramp. The ramp has been sealed off after Mervyns took over the buliding. Photo of former Mervyns Department Store. This is a photo of the loading dock area.

Located across the street from the former Mervyns is another Shopping Center. In this center is a Longs Drugs and a Ralphs Supermarket. In 2008 CVS Pharmacy Stores puchased the Longs Drug Store Chain. In early April 2009, the Longs Drug Store changed its name to CVS Pharmacy. The CVS Pharmacy is located Ralphs Westchester at Sepulveda at Westchester Parkway, near Lincoln (sort-of) in Los Angeles, California. Ralphs Westchester was builts first, due to its success, Longs Drugs was then built next door. About a block down the street, at Lincoln is another CVS Pharmacy, formerly a Sav-on Drug Store. The cashier at the new CVS store said they were keeping both CVS Stores. Also in this shopping center is Pet Co (former JJ Newberrys then Flax Art Store, now sub divided into Petco, Tuesday Morning and misc. Shops.

In the shopping center connected to the former Mervyns Department Store is the other CVS Pharmacy Store, a former Sav-on Drug Store. This other CVS Pharmacy store is located in a companion shopping center and separtated by less than a mile from the former Longs now CSW Store. In this shopping center is Trader Joes Market, CVS Pharmacy Store, TJ Maxx (former JC Penny Department Store), Pandera Bakery, Hometown Buffet, some misc. shops.

My new online store is now open, it features limited edition prints on Hahnemuhle fine art rag paper. The store will soon feature original drawings, gocco prints, silk screens, and much more!

Please have a look. Thanks!

A stall in an abandoned old house at I. delos Reyes St., Sampaloc, Manila, being used as a sari-sari store years ago. The arrangement of forms such as old wooden materials for the closure of the store makes this subject interesting, especially the placement of shapes and lines.

Me on my last day standing in front of what was my department wearing the apron I wore on my first day here, Feb. 24, 1983 - standing next to the only item we had a large quanity of - bagged ice, only 9 Cents! The following day the store would close for good with that ice left behind.

I'm not a musician, but it looked to me that the music store that had this broken guitar on its door also had a large inventory of very nice musical instruments.

I wonder if there's a story behind the trashing of this guitar.

A visit to Maker Media’s pop-up store at 345 Sutter Street, in San Francisco's iconic Union Square. For the holidays, they offer a well-curated selection of maker products: from drones to robots, 3d printing and do-it-yourself kits. You can gets hands-on experience for some of these products, and they also give free workshops. I was there to meet Dale Dougherty, founder and chairman of Maker Media, to get his advice on our art maker programs, such as the Pataphysical Slot Machine exhibit and the Create Your Own Wonderbox workshops. He was very generous with his time and gave me some really helpful guidance for how to grow this project next year. Maker Media is the publisher of Make: magazine, the producer of the popular Maker Faires — and a driving force for the Maker movement.

Still making lives happy in Douglass. (2002)

The Hershey Store, in Times Square, was one of the stops of our latest Flickr Meet. Larry, Jeff, Veronica, Mackenzie and I had a great time touring around New York City, talking photography, and catching up with each other. It was a great day out and I'm already looking forward to the next Flickr Meet!

Aha! It's an Independently-owned business, which I took a photo of before even knowing what the mission 24 assignment for the week was. It really does pay just to take pics all the time. Anyway, I came away from here with a bag of tasty vegan foodie loot, and sat in front of the store with a bunch of flowers and ate a cookie. Happy times.

I've got a thing with taking pictures of mannequins in store windws.....

Pop up stores have gone up all over the city to promote the new line of make-up for MAC featuring Wonder Woman. I don't think it's going too well as they made the design of the items too simple and frankly, boring. The store themselves have eye catching displays especially on the windows.

Superdry store in Trinity centre, Leeds

This house was built in 1898 in Flateyri, North-Western Iceland. It was a general store at first but soon it began selling books as well. The children of the village would flock to the store every time a new shipment of comics or toys arrived.

The store management stayed in the same family for nearly 100 years but in 2003 Minjasjóður Önundarfjarðar took over and runs it as an interactive museum of sorts during the summertime.

The store's interior is still original and it's primary merchandise today is used books. You buy your literature there by weight, 1.000 kr. per 1 kg (~2 pounds). They also sell vintage candy and have a large collection of vintage dolls on display.
