Extra installations during the event Lights in Alingsås 2015.

"A pop-up store in Alingsås. An ordinary street of houses has been transformed into a chic Parisian boutique and visitors are taken on a journey in time and space. The installations show how the angle of beam of light can determine the ways we perceive objects and materials. Transparency affects perceptions of volume, and light projections create other effects."

Design: Luxera and Prosit Eventdesign.

Every year in september/october leading international lighting designers come to Alingsås to hold a week´s workshop with participants from all over the world. Together they light a number of buildings and locations around the town centre. Around 85 000 people come every year to see the designs during the month-long event.

Harvard Book Store, my favorite bookstore in Harvard Square. It's a survivor. When I was a student here in the 60s there were something like two dozen independent bookstores in the Square. Now there's just a handful, and this is the best of them.

Former McCrory's five and dime store in Youngstown Ohio, now a childrens museum of science and technology.

My mother likes this store.

In old town Tallinn Estonia. I would think the building is historic, but I cannot find any information about it.

Men’s fine clothing merchant

Ric Lahti, owner

Formerly Miles Clothing Store, Ric Lahti purchased and renamed the store, opening on March 29, 1941. The dapper Lahti embodied the store’s motto, “First with the latest.” He sold the business in 1966. It changed hands again in 1972 before officially closing in 1975. Today the building houses the Mexican restaurant Taxco II.

Today\'s finds at a local thrift store. The open book is called These Colors Are Bananas, a nifty children\'s book to show that a lot of objects we think are a single color (bananas, ice, clouds, etc.) can really fit in a wide range of colors. It is open to the page on ice in honor of Paul Ewing , who is currently experiencing and showing the color of ice and snow.

This store at one time was owned by my dad's aunt. I am not sure of the years but I believe sometime in the 30's and 40's. It is located at Dighton Rd. and 19 Mile Rd., Dighton, MI in Osceola County.

This is the cover of the debut album by The Blazers. The photo was taken in the Record Bar store on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, NC.

I scanned it a few years ago and never posted it because I was hoping to fix the obvious stitching problem. I am now admitting that I am not likely to ever get around to that, so here it is.

It rained today and I felt like taking some slightly darker themed pictures opposed to my glowing with sunlight pictures.

I like this picture, the slight blue glow to Merida's hair especially looks pretty.

This cool retro pillowcase was purchased at the Goodwill's last-stop-before-the-dump where you buy things by the pound! It became a happy skirt with the help of a thrift store tee shirt for the waistband, and an old slip and a bit of fabric from the remnant bin for the second tier.

Opened August 2011. Featuring the new black color scheme.

About a half mile up the road from Goode, VA is Goode Station. Now, the train tracks run through Goode, so I'm thinking Goode Station refers more to the time of wagon carriage, before the railroad came through, and it is a crossroads. Not much there now except this closed store/gas station, a couple of houses, and the church you see in the background.
