This store caters for graffiti artists. We were surprised and didn't think you'd get away with that in London or New York.
This colonial style store sits on the main street of Okato, Taranaki, NZ. The veranda serves as a shelter for people waiting at the bus stop.
The faded livery on the top of the building says -
ESTB. 1899 J. S. FOX
According to The Cyclopedia of New Zealand [Taranaki, Hawke's Bay & Wellington Provincial Districts] (published in 1908), this business was once known as "The Okato Post Office, Telegraph Office and Telephone Bureau", and was operated by James Smith Fox as the district Post Office. They sold groceries, ironmongery, boots and shoes, grain, manures, etc.
This grocery store paints seasonal designs on their windows. I noticed last Saturday they have new ones for October. I think the jack-o-lantern is pretty cute!

Well the last time I went to a Lego store was the summer of 2008 in downtown Chicago on vacation. So now that there is one that is a little closer to my house (close being 2.5 hours) and now that we have a decent running car I finally got to the Lego store!
I mostly just got a lot of brown plates for my 457th build
Gray because I use that a lot in builds and just some random stuff.
I got Mace Windu's starfighter, more series 5 minifigs, pick a brick bag, and a brick separator. Pretty good trip!
I paid for this all myself so don't think I'm a spoiled brat or anything
In the past if you wanted to buy a raincoat in a department store, you went inside and there was a rack of raincoats.
The assistant came over and checked your size, if there was not the correct on on the rack, they would then go and look at the items in the stock room and see if one was there. If not they will ask if you would like them to order one for you.
Norway 1948.
Today you can go into a department store and try and find a coat. Instead of all the coats in one place, they are grouped with all types of clothing by brand.
There might be an assistant, but they are only in charge of their own brand, if they do not have anything in your size, that's it, you will not get much more help.
I would have liked to buy a new raincoat this year, but even going into three shops, I have not been able to find one in my size or the design I want.
The lower coats on the right are the ones I am looking for - must learn more about Time Travel.
A visit to Maker Media’s pop-up store at 345 Sutter Street, in San Francisco's iconic Union Square. For the holidays, they offer a well-curated selection of maker products: from drones to robots, 3d printing and do-it-yourself kits. You can gets hands-on experience for some of these products, and they also give free workshops. I was there to meet Dale Dougherty, founder and chairman of Maker Media, to get his advice on our art maker programs, such as the Pataphysical Slot Machine exhibit and the Create Your Own Wonderbox workshops. He was very generous with his time and gave me some really helpful guidance for how to grow this project next year. Maker Media is the publisher of Make: magazine, the producer of the popular Maker Faires — and a driving force for the Maker movement.

This is a weird store that sells fishing supplies (I suppose). The translation of what is written goes like this: "worms and fishing nets for sale here", "we have frogs", "we have 'lambari' (a small fish used as live bait)", "manure for sale", "place your order here and wait, 10 worms for R$1,00", etc. It's also written on the wall that it's forbidden to smoke near the window and that he doesn't sell anything at night.

PERSONAL FUN FACT written by my sister: This outfit spent a LONG time on Shelly's sewing table. However, when she did get to it, she also shaved about a decade of filth off of my vintage Skipper sledding outfit that had been laying around our mend basket for a while, so, it's totally worth it. I'm really glad Eric came with these threads for a variety of reasons. My first, most obvious reason, is that Disney guy dolls are hard to mate with the correct clothes if they don't come with them. I was glad our newly acquired Eric had movie accurate clothes to wear. However, I was also excited because we have several other Erics, yet only our Tyco guy came in one of these wedding outfit. Most of the others come in the more classic Eric apparel. Also, truth be told, these Disney Store dolls look pretty similar to one another. Knowing what he came in was key to figuring out what year this particular Eric was released. Also, it was nice knowing that we had a different Disney Store Eric, not the one we already had. I also LOVE his boots! They are so cute and like the ones he wore in the movie! Shelly had to mend this before Eric could wear it. It was super frayed and verging on falling apart. However, now he looks quite regal in it. Ready for his wedding--to Ariel, of course, not the sea witch!
