The super saree store in Thrissur.
7 floors, one floor each for each part of the saree dress, and the women would go from one floor to the next to have each piece fitted and made to their liking.
Actually, a saree is only 3 pieces - undershirt, underpant, and the saree drape itself.
So the floors went something like this:
1) Saree's
2) Undershirt
3) Underpant
4) Wedding Saree's
5) Men's Lunghi's and Doti's
6) Kids Saree/Lunghi
7) Cafe
suffice to say we spent most our time on floors 1 through 4 - and were quite an attraction for all the lovely indian girls. ;-)
especially because in india you arent supposed to go to the ladies area, and we were just leisurely taking our time perusing through nonchalant ;-) taking pictures no less!

This store opened in summer 2022 and was originally located here; it was originally a Toys R Us, which opened in September 1998 (originally located here) and closed in June 2018. It operated as a Spirit Halloween in September-November 2018.
Inside the closed blockbuster, with some lights still on.
UPDATE: All lights are now out and the building is now for sale.

Not nearly as many women walking around in bikini tops like this as I would have preferred. She was with the Barefoot Wine & Bubbly & Gates Circle Liquor Store float. Thanks, Barefoot Wine & Bubbly and Gates Circle Liquor Store.
Photo taken on 11/03/2007 of new CVS Pharmacy. Grand Opening sale. The former SAFEWAY SUPERMARKET, which is to the left of CVS Pharmacy and 99 Cents Only Store which is located to the right of the former SAFEWAY Supermarket. Former SAFEWAY SUPERMARKET, converted to VONS in 1988 when VONS took over SAFEWAY SUPERMARKETS. VONS Supermarkets eventually closed this store and it became a Pick N Save, which the parent company later changed its Big Lots. This Big Lots location is now closed as indicated by the sign in the window. The lease for this former Big Lots has expired, and the store will be converting back to a supermarket. Whole Food Supermarket is taking over the Big Lots site as well as taking over the CVS Pharmacy next Store (former Savon Drug Store). The CVS is preparing to move and take over another location on the property, a former Kinney Shoe Store, that was converted by its parent company to a Foot Locker, which later closed. One of xx photos of this shopping center.

Toys "R" Us opneed their 110,000 square-foot flagship store in Times Square, at 1514 Broadway, in November 2011. The multi-leve stores boasts a working 60-foot tall ferris wheel with 14 individually themed cabs, a two-story, 4,000- square-foot Barbie doll house, and a five-ton, 20-foot high, 34-foot long animatronic Jurassic Park T-Rex dinosaur.
I found these today at Michael's Crafts. They all need to get "antiqued" or changed a bit, but I think they will all work in this house. I have another set of the bowls already. I may paint the terracotta gray to look like stoneware.
Photograph taken on April 4, 2009, Saturday morning of former Milliron’s Department Store that opened approximately in 1949. A few years later The Broadway Department Store chain took over this site and it was a Broadway Department Store until the early 1990s. The Broadway disposed of this location. Mervyns took over the site, gutted the interior, remodeled the interior, removed the rooftop parking, as well as an escalator tower and stairs that led to the roof. Located in Westchester California on Sepulveda and LaTijera. Los Angeles California. In 2008, Mervyns announced that they were closing down all of their stores. This former Mervyns Department Store closed down in early January 2009. Originally, when this was a Broadway, you could drive up to the roof for parking via a ramp. The ramp has been sealed off after Mervyns took over the buliding.
Kohl's Department Stores has taken over the site and is currently renovating the interior of the building. The entire bulding has been gutted. The Mervyns' name was removed the outside of the bulding in the last couple of weeks. The giant (with Mervyns' label scars) blank sign holders that can be seen in some of the current batch of photos were originally used when this store operated as The Broadway as well as by Mervyns.
This now gutted Mervyns Store, is awaiting rebirth as Kohls. Kohls has taken down all of the Mervyns' signs, except for these stickers in the windowns along Sepulved. For construction they are using the main parking lot entrance. The sign removal occured within the last couple of weeks. .
Located across the street from the former Mervyns is another Shopping Center. In this center is a Longs Drugs and a Ralphs Supermarket. In 2008 CVS Pharmacy Stores puchased the Longs Drug Store Chain. In early April 2009, the Longs Drug Store changed its name to CVS Pharmacy. The CVS Pharmacy is located Ralphs Westchester at Sepulveda at Westchester Parkway, near Lincoln (sort-of) in Los Angeles, California. Ralphs Westchester was builts first, due to its success, Longs Drugs was then built next door. About a block down the street, at Lincoln is another CVS Pharmacy, formerly a Sav-on Drug Store. The cashier at the new CVS store said they were keeping both CVS Stores. Also in this shopping center is Pet Co (former JJ Newberrys then Flax Art Store, now sub divided into Petco, Tuesday Morning and misc. Shops.
In the shopping center connected to the former Mervyns Department Store is the other CVS Pharmacy Store, a former Sav-on Drug Store. This other CVS Pharmacy store is located in a companion shopping center and separtated by less than a mile from the former Longs now CSW Store. In this shopping center is Trader Joes Market, CVS Pharmacy Store, TJ Maxx (former JC Penny Department Store), Pandera Bakery, Hometown Buffet, some misc. shops.

The Hershey Store in Times Square looks very impressive from the outside, but once you go in, it's very disappointing. Although it looks very large, the store itself is quite small and feels very cramped. Not very much seems to be sold here either. Most of what they have are candy bars and bags of chocolates that you can buy almost anywhere else for less then half what is being charged here.
I feel bad about that, since I am a very big fan of both Hershey foods and their theme park. I really wanted to like this place. I think there is a lot of potential here if Hershey would put a bit more work and creativity into this store.
