I have been so intent of Eagles lately, I had forgotten I had even seen a red-bellied woodpecker, mush less take a few nice shots of one. A real Surprise!

I recently had the opportunity to see and photograph this loon it was the first time obtaining images. It had been injured but I understand it is recovering nicely.

Crocosmia Red Lucifer (don't you just love that name) more commonly known as Montbretia. I have always adored it's striking red colour against it's vivid green, long and blade like leaves. I never knew it was part of the Iris Family.
