This is my reward for doing a little work installing a dishwasher this morning. We decided to walk over to a little park near our house and see if we could find any hawks since the sun was peaking through. This Red-shouldered Hawk was on top of a tower, and took off just as I fired away! My shutter should have been higher, but that's what happens when you're not fully prepared!

A macro of one of the flowers on my amaryllis which eventually burst into bloom on 3 January. For added effect I placed a red chopping board behind it. You can never have too much red I always think 😊 ❤️❤️

A nice surprise in the mist of the New Forest. There are loads of fallow deer as well as roe and sika but I don't often see red deer like this. I count 12 points which make him a royal stag and he had 4 hinds off to the left. The image is uncropped but at the limit of my 100-400 + 1.4Tc. I didn't try to get any closer and although they obviously knew I was there, none of them made a dash for it so I left them alone after a few shots.

In a garden in Bowral there are 75,000 Tulips planted to celebrate the coming of spring.
The night before however the area was deluged by torrential rain which resulted in large puddles being created which in turn created this beautiful reflection of red tulips.

Popped some leftover chicken outside earlier, and tempted a Red Kite or two down…the dullness of the day meant that I had to crank the ISO up…even so, I still didn’t put the shutter speed high enough to prevent some blur, but it was trying to not get much noise.
