Red Mountain is a set of three peaks in the San Juan Mountains of western Colorado in the United States, about 5 miles south of Ouray. The mountains get their name from the reddish iron ore rocks that cover the surface. Several other peaks in the San Juan Mountains likewise have prominent reddish coloration from iron ore and are also called "Red Mountain".

Nearby Red Mountain Pass is named after Red Mountain, and the ghost town mining camp of Red Mountain Town is located at the foot of the Red Mountains.

I did not modify the colors in any way in this photo - they are natural. The sun was back-lighting the pines in the foreground, giving them an almost unnatural look.

Red Blood Cells - Medical Illustration

Red blood cells, or erythrocytes, are the most common type of blood cell and the vertebrate organism's principal means of delivering oxygen (O2) to the body tissues via the blood flow through the circulatory system. They take up oxygen in the lungs or gills and release it while squeezing through the body's capillaries. These cells' cytoplasm is rich in haemoglobin, an iron-containing biomolecule that can bind oxygen and is responsible for the blood's red color. Red blood cells are also known as RBCs, red cells, red blood corpuscles (an archaic term), haematids, erythroid cells or erythrocytes.

Red dirt clay roads in Alabama

It's where I drank my first beer

It's where I found Jesus

Where I wrecked my first car,

I tore it all to pieces

I learned the path to heaven

Is full of sinners and believers

Learned that happiness on earth

Ain't just for high achievers

I've learned,

I've come to know

There's life at both ends

Of that red dirt road.

Spotted this tattered red ribbon tied to a branch of a tree - I wonder who put it there, and why.

Red not tweaked at all on this - just a crop and the levels tweaked a bit to darken the background. Lit with a small bulb held behind the glass.
