Red-shouldered Hawk perched on an airport rabbit light.

This is my reward for doing a little work installing a dishwasher this morning. We decided to walk over to a little park near our house and see if we could find any hawks since the sun was peaking through. This Red-shouldered Hawk was on top of a tower, and took off just as I fired away! My shutter should have been higher, but that's what happens when you're not fully prepared!

The Red Grasshawk dragonfly occurs over much of Far East Asia from eastern India to Indochina. Above is the red adult male with brownish red wings with clear tips typical of the male of several neurothemis species. The juvenile male and the female are light brown with clear wings.

A macro of one of the flowers on my amaryllis which eventually burst into bloom on 3 January. For added effect I placed a red chopping board behind it. You can never have too much red I always think 😊 ❤️❤️

Took this photo at the Toronto Botanical Garden last summer. Found this flower to be fascinating for it's uniqueness, having one white petal. My mother is named after this flower, making this extra special.
