During the week, the OpenFrameworks core development team is encamped at the STUDIO for Creative Inquiry to advance the next version of OpenFrameworks, a toolkit for new media education and creative coding. Each evening at 5pm, we will feature three or four short presentations by members of this team.

today i wrote an addon that allows you to interface with the novation launchpad in OF github.com/kylemcdonald/ofxLaunchpad

this demo shows controlling the launchpad with the device and from the computer simultaneously.

We took our 'Flutter' workshop to the Action Factory in Blackburn for their Community Open Day, 16th February 2011. Special thanks to Lucy Ann Jones for inviting us, it was a fantastic day!

Flutter is a participatory art project created by Tom Betts (nullpointer) which allows children from a very early age to take part in creating a digital art installation. Each child makes a butterfly, using everyday craft materials, which is then brought to life in a video projected 3D world.

Flutter uses real-time computer graphics software developed in openFrameworks.

Using the iterative chord enumeration/gray code/shuffle combination, now visualized in realtime via OF with a ported BigInteger class. Next: sort the columns to find out how much disorder there "really" is -- or if the bit ordering is just cleverly obfuscating things.

These sketches are part of my masters thesis, and all the source is available on Google Code: code.google.com/p/oelf/

...and I think I'm almost getting the hang of it. With a little luck and a few more hours I'm hoping to get this to control the stupid JavaScript game I made a while back... the kids will freak out.

Thanks, openframeworks and ofxkinect people. Nice job setting this all up.
