The Arizona desert west of Winslow. Interstate 80 parallels the BNSF main line for many miles. Three trains are visible, all intermodals. Two eastbounds are queuing to get into Winslow for crew and/or loco changes, and a westbound is receding with its DPU (rear assisting loco) visible.

It is quite the time for not one, but two of Illinois Central’s last four GP40R’s remaining in their Deathstar scheme to be in Memphis at the same time. One would do anything to see 3107 & 3108 together, but for now, it’s still a treat to see them consecutively working the same assignment one after the other.

I was screwing around in downtown Rochester NY one morning, which a lot of time meant reading a book at the Amtrak station, which of course was on the busy Conrail main through the city. I vaguely remember a local come around the corner from the west, and then backing down the siding into the Genesee Brewery along the Genesee River.

Whatever the circumstances (the only thing I'm sure of was that I was screwing around downtown) I ended up exposing some Tri-X on the local switching the plant. Most of the siding was on stilts, so to speak along the side of the plant.

Google Maps makes it looks like the track is no longer used.
