Die 140 845 war am 29. November 2003 mit einer Schwesterlok und einem schweren Güterzug unterwegs und kam bei Bochum Altenbochum gen Bochum Nord gefahren.
Een tweetal locs uit de serie 140 kwamen op 29 november 2003 met een zware goederentrein door Bochum Altenbochum richting Bochum Nord gereden.

DB 182 001 reed op een koude 29 januari 2006 met een containertrein over de Nord-Süd-Strecke naar het zuiden van Duitsland en werd te Burgstemmen gefotografeerd..
Bevor die Baureihe zur Regiolok degradiert wurde, fuhren sie hauptsächlich auf der Nord-Süd-Strecke im Güterverkehr.
So konnte ich am kalten 29. Januar 2006 die 182 001 mit einem Containerzug gen Süden bei Burgstemmen aufnehmen...

Het dorpje Oberaudorf ligt in zuid-Bayern (vlak voor de Oostenrijkse grens) en is bekend voor het bekende klooster (Reisach).
Een aantal jaren geleden was het nog mogelijk om richting het noorden treinen te fotograferen, inmiddels staan hier geluidsschermen en is deze blik niet meer mogelijk.
Op 18 september 2008 ging het gelukkig nog en fotografeerde ik TX Logistics 185 512 die met ÖBB 1144 255 en een goederentrein naar Kufstein reed.
Aus der Zeit wo diese Perspektive noch möglich war und es noch keine Lärmschutzwände gab..
TX Logistics 185 512 war am 18. September 2008 mit ÖBB 1144 225 (kalt) und einem Güterzug unterwegs gen Kufstein und hat bei Oberaudorf das Ziel fast erreicht...
Gone are the days where one could shoot trains - headed for Kufstein - and the convent in Oberaudorf in one frame.
Unfortunately sound proof barriers have been placed here and have completely ruined this shot.
Seen here is TX Logistics 185 512 with ÖBB engine 1144 255 and a freight train on September 18th 2008.

The mixed freighttrain 60185 from Basel to Chiasso, passing near Immensee (CH) at 2022.03.22 with the SBB Re 620 037.
Neben dem abendlichen Altmann Umlauf von München nach Piadena und retour, gibt es nun ab und zu auch lichtfreundlichere Umläufe.
Nicht selten kommt es dabei vor, dass diese Züge mehrere Stunden verspätet sind und so im schönsten Tageslicht fotografierbar sind.
Bespannt werden diese Züge in allen Fällen mit Loks der Baureihe 494, welche zum Umsetzen am Brenner benötigt werden.
Bei Sterzing konnte die angemietete 494.573 mit einem vollen Autozug gen Süden fotografiert werden.

In de zomer van 2022 werd de vakantie samen met de vrouw en dochter doorgebracht in Tsjechië. Uiteraard vond ik het niet heel erg dat de dames wederom voor Tsjechië kozen, want mijn bucketlist qua treinen in dit fraaie land is nog best wel lang ;-). De eerste twee weken zaten we in de buurt van Nymburk en de derde week nabij Uherské Hradiště.
Om zwarte zaterdag grotendeels te omzeilen, werd besloten om vrijdag vlakbij ons vakantiehuisje nog een nachtje in een hotel te overnachten. Heel strategisch werd gekozen voor een hotel bij Ústí nad Labem. Na aankomst vrijdag kon ik aan het eind van de middag nog even kort de stek bij Vanov bezoeken en zaterdagochtend ging ik zo vroeg mogelijk naar de stek bij Církvice om de uurtjes voor het ontbijt door te brengen bij het spoor. De verwachtingen qua cargo waren niet heel hoog gezien de zaterdag.
Ik hoefde echter niet lang te wachten op de eerste goederentrein en dat was direct ook een erg fraaie. Hier zien we de IDS Cargo 193 276 met een graantrein richting Ústí nad Labem bij Církvice op 16 juli 2022. Daarna kwamen in korte tijd nog eens vier goederentreinen en wat losse locomotieven langs. Al met al een fijn begin zo van de vakantie ;-).
Ein paar Minuten nach halb fünf am frühen Morgen des 15. Juni 2021 überquerte eine HHPI 159 die Templiner Seebrücke in Potdam mit einem langen Güterzug.

Het is heerlijk rustig en ik zie reigers, eenden en zelf een otter in het water. Voor ongeveer een halve minuut wordt de rust verstoord omdat een HHPI 159 met een lange zware goederentrein over de brug over de Templiner See in Potsdam dondert. Daarna keert de rust terug... tot de volgende goederentrein komt :-)
June 15th 2021, Lake Templin, a few minutes after 04:30 AM. It is quiet and there is a sense of serenity. That is until an HHPI class 159 engine crosses the railway bridge, creating a lot of noise for about half a minute...
After that.. it was nice and quiet again...

Die für LTE fahrende ES 64 F4 - 205 war am 15. Juli 2023 mit LTE 193 740 und einem Güterzug unterwegs gen Polen und konnte früh am Morgen bei Neugarten fotografiert werden.
Dispolok ES 64 F4-205 (rijdend voor de LTE) had op 15 juli 2023 naast de LTE 193 740 ook nog een goederentrein naar Polen aan de haak. Op de "Schnellfahrstrecke" te Neugarten kon ik de trein vanuit de lucht fotografieren.

De veelzijdige 193 366 reed op 17 mei 2021 met goederentrein 42994 uit Pruszko naar Antwerpen Noord. Te Potsdam Pirschheide had ik erg veel geluk met de wolken en kon ik deze mooie loc in de zon fotograferen.
Am 17. Mai 2021 war die bunte 193 366 "Einziganders" mit Güterzug 42994 aus Pruzko gen Antwerpen Noord unterwegs. In Pirschheide lauerte ich den Zug auf und hatte sehr viel Glück mit den Wolken...

After having taken the picture, I was able to chalk another up to "a great deal of luck with the clouds not blocking the sun" :-)
Geluk met de zon had ik op 6 maart 2021 toen ik de LTE 186 941 in Golm fotograferen wilde. Na meer dan een uur wachten, had de stralend blauwe lucht plaats gemaakt voor vele wolken en eigenlijk ging ik er al vanuit, dat het niets meer zou worden. Uiteindelijk lukte het toch en was ik meer dan verheugd met de opname. De trein reed door werkzaamheden dwars door Potsdam en Berlijn...
Ein wenig Glück hatte ich am 6. März als ich die LTE 186 941 - welche aufgrund von Bauarbeiten mit ihrem KLV Zug nach Poznan über Potsdam Hbf und Berlin Westhafen fuhr - bei Golm fotografierte. In der Stunde wo ich warten musste, hatte der strahlend blauer Himmel Platz gemacht für viel Wolken und ich hatte schon damit gerechnet, dass es nicht mehr klappt mit einem Sonnenbild.
Glücklicherweise passte es am Ende doch noch.. wie man sehen kann :-)
After having waited for over an hour (in which the beautiful blue skies had made way for a ton of clouds) I was ready to throw in the towel on March 6th 2021.
I wanted to make a sunny picture of LTE 186 941 which was headed for Poznan in Poland with a freight train and which was rerouted via Potsdam Hbf because of work being done on the Berlin outer ring. Unfortunately, the train was waiting roughly 10 kilometers from where I was standing for over an hour (during which the weather conditions changed).
In the end though, everything worked out and I was able to get the shot I wanted...
Back on Sunday 17th April, 2016 Train number 1-34 with the ubiquitous TR class members 5 + 13 could be seen passing through the crossing loop at Tea Tree right at the end of the day. The loading of containers and logs could be seen glinting in the late evening sun.

In questa foto si possono vedere due Re 4/4 al traino di un treno completo carico di bobine di ferro proveniente da Basilea e diretto a Chiasso. Il convoglio è stato ripreso nei pressi di Capolago.
Die 152 126 hatte am 13. März 2022 vor wenige Minuten Großbeeren Umschlagbahnhof verlassen und wird mit DHL Güterzug 50003 nach Frankfurt (Main) Ost fahren. In Genshager Heide musste noch kurz gewartet werden. Nachdem die Railpool 185 696 vorbei gefahren war, dürfte die 152 126 die Reise nach Hessen antreten.
De DB 152 126 bracht op 13 maart 2022 goederentrein 50003 van Großbeeren (bij Berlijn) naar Frankfurt (Main) Ost. Nadat te Genshagener Heide voorrang was gegeven aan Railpool 185 696 (die met een containertrein onderweg was), kon de 152 126 met de reis beginnen.

In Genshagener Heide, the train had to wait a few minutes and give way to Railpool 185 696 (which was also headed west with a freight train). After a few minutes, 152 126 was than given the green light and is seen here leaving Genshagener Heide.
GM Wismar Hafen - Brandenburg-Altstadt Stahlwerk Quenz (DB Cargo) (Ladegut Schrott) bei der Ausfahrt aus Brandenburg Hbf. Die Abgaswolke liegt aber nicht an dem ziemlich schweren Zug sondern am zu schnellen Aufschalten der Leistung und unter Umständen Ölrückständen im Turbolader.
GM Wismar Hafen - Brandenburg-Altstadt Stahlwerk Quenz (DB Cargo) (loaded with scrap metal) leaving Brandenburg main station. The cloud of exhaust is not due to the rather heavy train, but to the power being switched on too quickly and possibly oil residues in the turbocharger.

PKP Cargo 193 502 was op een warme en zonnige 21. februari 2021 onderweg van Frankfurt (Oder) naar Rheinhausen en werd te Waßmannsdorf gefotografeerd...
Mit einem Güterzug von Frankfurt (Oder) nach Rheinhausen am Haken fuhr die PKP Cargo 193 502 am 21. Februar 2021 durch Waßmannsdorf unter einer Signalbrücke durch.
PKP Cargo Vectron 193 502 was on its way from Frankfurt (Oder) to Rheinhausen on February 21st 2021 with a long freight train and was spotted near Waßmannsdorf on the Berlin outer railway ring.
771 514 ("HBZ") fuhr am 23.03.2018 mit einem leeren Kohlezug als Pn 50561 Zemianske Kostol‘any - Handlová (+-0) durch Jalovec seinem Ziel Handlová entgegen.
Die 183 032 beförderte am 24. Juni 2022 einen Zementzug von Poprad kommend in Richtung Žilina und wurde von mir vor der beeindruckenden Klulisse der hohen Tatra kurz hinter dem Bahnhof Štrba fotografiert.

Op een aangenaam warme en zonnige 21. februari 2021 reed Delta Rail met goederentrein DGS 69698 van Frankfurt (Oder) naar Bad Bentheim en gebruikte hiervoor de leenloc van de DB, de 143 326. Te Waßmannsdorf kon ik deze trein met + 59 fotograferen en was blij dat de S-Bahn (rechts) niet tien seconden eerder kwam...
Am herrlich sonnig und warmen 21. Februar 2021 fuhr Delta Rail mit ihrer DB Leihlok 143 326 und DGS 69698 von Frankfurt (Oder) nach Bad Bentheim. Bei Waßmannsdorf konnte ich den Güterzug mit + 59 Minuten fotografieren. Dass die S-Bahn nicht zehn Sekunden früher losgefahren war, war natürlich äußerst vorteilhaft...
Delta Rail currently uses a DB class 143 engine for its cross-country freight trains. This engine - 143 326 - has been given a black design with large letters on the side asking potential customer to either buy or rent the engine.
On February 21st 2021 I was able to get a picture of this engine while it was hauling freight train DGS 69698 from Frankfurt (Oder) to Bad Bentheim - seen here near Waßmannsdorf. Luckily the S-Bahn on the right hand side did not depart Schönefeld ten seconds earlier :-)

De goede oude tijd.. :-) Natuurlijk was vroeger niet alles beter - vandaag de dag is er veel meer afwisseling op de sporen qua kleur en aanbieder. En zijn het tegenwoordig allemaal Traxx en Vectron locs die met goederentreinen op de Nord-Süd-Strecke onderweg zijn, waren het vroeger andere krachtpatsers.
Zo kon ik op 22 februari 2003 te Freden (Leine) de orientrode 151 017 met een lange containertrein naar Hambrug of Bremen fotograferen. Dezelfde foto zou anno 2021 ook mogelijk zijn, maar dan waarschijnlijk met een privé Vectron...
Die gute alte Zeit... lange her ist es.. Am 22. Februar 2003 stand ich am bekannten Bahnübergang bei Freden (Leine) und fotografierte die orientrote 151 017 mit einem Containerzug gen Hamburg (oder Bremen). Heutzutage ist natürlich nicht alles schlimmer... es ist nur anders (das gleiche Bild wäre heute auch möglich, dann aber mit privatem Vectron :-)
Back im the days, before Vectron and Traxx engines were omnipresent, class 151 engines were regular fixtures for freight trains on the north-south-line. After the turn of the century though, this started to change. Altough seeing engine 151 017 with a northbound freight train near Freden (Leine) wasn't yet a rarity in 2003, more and more newer engines had already burst onto the scene (class 152 or 182 for example). All the more reasons to cherish this picture from February 22nd 2003...

Possibly due to problems further up the track an unscheduled train ran Southbound with a loading of mainly empty flat wagons bound for Brighton Hub. There was no sign of the paper train or even train 36 at Brighton Hub. The loading for the evening's log train was enginless at the freight yard and there was no sign of any activity. However TR units 11 + 01 did give me an opportunity to shoot the train in this nice colourful spot approaching the Hub at Brighton. Rarely is the scenery this green in this area.

Tijdens de krokusvakantie 2022 verbleef ik een week aan de zee, meer bepaald in Koksijde.
Wat ik al een paar jaren op de planning had, probeerde ik deze keer om te zetten, zeker toen ik de weersverwachtingen te zien kreeg die elke dag uiterst zonnig weer aangaven. In realiteit was er wel een kleine dip op dinsdag en woensdag (vooral dan in de Westhoek) maar op vrijdagmorgen 4 maart 2022 was er geen wolkje aan de lucht. Ideaal om vanaf zonsopgang plaats te nemen aan de inrit van de bundel Ramskapelle in de Zeebrugse haven.
Ik wist dat er die ochtend een paar treinen gepland waren (bedankt tipgevers!) en had een drietal plekken virtueel genoteerd waar ik deze wou vastleggen.
Na een twintigtal minuten wachten, kreeg ik een berichtje om te zeggen dat de HSL PB06 in Brugge zat, maar dat eerst nog de 186 240 van DB zou binnenkomen. Dat was al een goed begin.
Twee minuten nadien ging inderdaad het sein open en zag ik de witte - van Akiem geleaste Traxx - met de zogenaamde JLR trein opdagen. Aan een slakkegangetje kwam de trein aan mijn standpunt voorbij. Een fraai begin van de dag!

As the weather forecast predicted bright and sunny weather for the so called Carnival Holidays in the first week of march 2022 and as I was to spent that week with my family at the Belgian coast, it was soon clear for me that I would finally make an attempt to catch some freight trains at the harbour of Zeebrugge.
For trains leaving the port via the sidings of Zwankendamme and Pelikaan the sun would stand correct during the first hours of the day, moreover in the neighboorhoud of the sidings of Ramskapelle there would also be a possibility to make decent photos of trains arriving at destination.
I gahtered some information, and it was soon clear that a couple of trains were due to arrive between 8 o'clock and 10 o'clock in the loop op Ramskapelle.
First of them was this so called JLR train (Jaguar and Land Rover), pulled by Traxx 186 240 of DB Cargo. A nice start of the day!
